An old building and very famous museum of Dubai, Dubai museum is also called National museum of Dubai. There are lots of items like music instruments, weapons and other cultural and life styles of ancient Dubai. I especially liked the pottery work. Museum is must to be visited when in Dubai.

A trip to Dubai is not complete without visiting the Dubai Museum, located in the newly restored Al Fahidi Fort. Originally built in 1799 as a defense against foreign invasion, it was transformed into a museum in 1993 and allows visitors to delve into the rich and unique heritage of the city. The halls are equipped with easy-to-use computer systems that encourage visitors to learn more; there are also interesting games related to the exhibits in the museum for children.

This museum displays a range of Islamic artifacts and manuscripts that articulate the supremacy of the Islamic legacy. The range contains a number of scientific and literary religious manuscripts and several collections of the Islamic civilization. Other exhibits include archaeological findings of the Islamic era, found in varied excavation sites in the emirate of Sharjah, which date back 1400 years.

This is a unique museum, which is located in a typical Arabian summer house. The museum has a wide variety of local boats - some of them are still used to ply the Dubai Creek. This is a very large and good museum of Dubai. I could see here Indian, Arabian and Italian jewelry and lots of jewelry manufacturing units. There is option to get own designs manufactured on the spot and I used this facility to get one for my sister. I could also see some exclusive stuff of pearls.
