The Abode Hotel (Michael Caines) in Canterbury is excellent for many reasons. The rooms are well appointed and offer good value for money, both the hotels' Champagne bar and separate restaurant offer high quality cocktails and food in a sophisticated setting. This hotel is ideal for business and tourists guests, but I also visit the Champagne bar and restaurant regularly as the service and general standards are consistently high. I am certain that there are other B&B's and hotels in and around Canterbury offering a more personal service with lots of Kent charm, but if you are seeking a very comfortable stay, slightly more luxurious than the other options and guaranteed good service, all in a central location, this has to be the lodging of choice.

This quality hotel consists of two Georgian houses built in 1726. Overlooking the river Thames, it's a perfect place to sit and watch the world go by. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of London, in one of the city's lush green areas, but is still only eight miles from the center of the city. So you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the capital, but escape and unwind if you feel it's getting a bit too much.

This three-room inn is located in the town of Battle, around 28 miles from Brighton. Battle Abbey, which was built by William the Conqueror, at the site of the Battle of Hastings, is located close to this place. Two double rooms and one single room are available here. There is also an in-house restaurant-cum-bar serving beer, tea, and crisp English breakfast.
