Hungary Museums - Hotels

This comfortable little guesthouse is conveniently located. They offer a wide range of services (from internet access to self-catering) and they have no curfew or lockout. The building itself is of historical merit, with a statue and a fountain in the quiet courtyard. After a tiring day of sightseeing, this makes a great place just for lying back on a bench in the sun. The rooms all have two, four or six beds and they resemble stylish lofts.

Art hotels' are all the rage in Europe, each dedicated to the art and design of a single artist, and in the case of Budapest it's the work of American artist Donald Sultan. The hotel's location is excellent: in the city's heart, on the Buda side of the river. Everything from the carpets to the wall designs, actual paintings and more are by Mr. Sultan. The result is an interesting and comfortable marriage of hotel and museum, but a museum where even the walls and floors are artistic creations.

This hotel is situated along the quiet street known as 'Embassy Row' near Heroes' Square (Hősök tere) and City Park (Városliget). It shares a building and reception desk with Hotel Pedagogous, which is around 10% cheaper. The location is a good one, as it is on a subway and bus line. Many major sights are within a five-minute walk, including two museums, a large park, the zoo, and some great restaurants and cafés. The surrounding area is made up of beautiful decaying mansions, some of which have undergone renovation as well as others which apparently have not been touched in several years.

This hotel has a very convenient location. It is within a five-minute walk of two of the city's most well known museums and is right next to the zoo and a huge park (that has hot baths and a castle) as well as the amusement park. Furthermore, many fine restaurants and cafés are also at hand. The hotel is also on the yellow subway line and has numerous bus connections to the centre. Not all rooms are air-conditioned, so in the summer months be sure to check, as otherwise sleeping can get a little uncomfortable.

This middle-of-the-road hotel offers excellent accommodation at reasonable prices. Located near City Park, it is a short ride by public transit to the city center. Owned by the Eravis chain, it was once a workers' hostel. It is now considerably more luxurious and has a three-star rating. The good location means that you can take strolls in the neighborhood, passing some of the city's most famous streets and landmarks. It's a great area, and within walking distance of the Zoo, the Amusement Park, museums, thermal baths and much more.

This blue hotel has been restored to its nineteenth-century grandeur. No doubt the main road outside saw much less traffic back then, but the multiple-glazing helps. The location is excellent for sightseeing, as it is close to both public transit as well as museums, restaurants and cafés. Many interesting areas are with a five-minute walk of the hotel and there are fast food restaurants and twenty-four-hour shops nearby. The train station is also close at hand.

This fine hotel offers the best in luxury that money can buy. Located on the posh Andrassy Avenue, the hotel's services and amenities are comparable to no other in the city. Well-equipped beautiful rooms with attached spacious bathrooms will not motivate you to venture outside. Relax at the hotel's very own bar or Baraka Restaurant and Lounge at the end of a hard's day work or shopping. And for those who want to explore the city,  the Opera House, Heroes Square, The Museum of Fine Arts, plus several fine dining restaurants as well as hip cafes and clubs are located close by.
