You will believe in love at first sight when you walk into the lobby of this building. The amazing art deco designs in this hotel spread into the rooms upstairs. It is clear from the lampshades and the black-and-white tile that the Cadillac believes in detail. It first opened in 1905 and soon after became the summer home for Charlie Chaplin. All of the rooms are clearly as charming as your first look at the lobby. It is priced fairly for the easy walk to Venice and the delightful surroundings that include incredible sunsets over the Pacific Ocean.

Formerly the Mansion, this small, charming inn was totally renovated and renamed in 1998. Two blocks from colorful Venice Beach, it does lack some on site amenities such as restaurant, swimming pool and exercise facility. However, these are all readily available within a block or two. The neighborhood is crawling with bike and in-line skate rental shops, and the biggest swimming pool of all—the Pacific Ocean, is right there.
