Exquisite sushi - Shaun Presland kicked off and Percy and his team now rock the sushi bar. It melts in your mouth and is rather creative, using fresh Australian seafood too.

This place is an Italian dream. Especially if you can't get to Italy this Summer. Any of the dishes with truffle oil are exceptional. Don't forget to peruse the olive oil menu and purchase some finely pressed Australian olive oil.

A famous Australian pub with an alternative edge, the Exeter is an Adelaide landmark; an unassuming East End haunt sitting in an elegant 19th century building. Very casual with a hint of retro, the decor has not changed much in years. The hotel attracts a very mixed crowd from grungy types to suits. Live alternative bands and DJs regularly entertain at night. Local beer goes down a treat here, but fussier drinkers can select from a decent wine list. The kitchen serves tasty pub cuisine at good prices, including schnitzels, steaks and a variety of burgers. It opens daily from 11a.

Take a break from your artistic wanderings and relax with a cultured luncheon. Popular local chef, Cath Kerry, brings a touch of French sophistication. This glass-walled restaurant in a bright corner of the Art Gallery Of South Australia overlooks a courtyard which is used for fine-weather dining. The simple decor leaves the artistic masters to shine. The menu is contemporary, with a touch of provincial French and good vegetarian options. Choose from a simple sandwich to a three-course meal (between noon and 2.30pm). Try Barossa chicken stuffed with dates and almonds, with sweet potato grating and pomegranate glaze.

One of Adelaide's most colorful "Inns" established in 1848 by John Collard Cocker, a first-class Adelaide cricketer who designed the delightful Adelaide Oval. A simple, friendly pub tucked away in a quiet corner of beautiful, wide Stanley Street. Family owned and run, the hotel has barely altered in 152 years, with a strict no gaming machine/no gambling rule. Two beer gardens are used for popular outdoor events, such as regular screenings of old black and white "reel to reel" films - complete with popcorn! Check out the reasonably priced, country-sized pub meals, from pasta to steak.

Built in 1855, this excellent establishment has experienced a chequered history. Forced to close in the early part of the 20th century, the Port Dock is now the only pub in the state brewing beer on its premises. Brewery and cellar tours are conducted on request. The old stone hotel has been extended and supports an extensive bistro with modern furnishings. The hotel menu offers a range of meals, from warm chicken salad to Bosun's Pie! However, the four house-brewed beers are the main attraction. Hot-shot cocktails are also a specialty.

The best way to describe this wine bar would be: sophistication meets old world charm. The different types of champagne and extensive cheese platter will ensure that you come back for more. The Apothecary is also a stop for wine tastings, presentations, Christmas dinners, seminars and other such get-togethers. So dress up, step on the velvet carpet and feel like royalty.
