Our tour takes you to the best restaurants in Peru, as well as some small simple local favorites. Some of the meals in the nicer restaurants will not be paid in advance so you can order freely off the menu, as we recognize that you all have sophisticated and individual tastes for food and wine. Some meals especially those in remote areas or those which come with a cooking class will be included.

In Lima, you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the flavors of the coast. The coast offers an abundance of fresh seafood dishes. A typical lunch in Lima is at a Cevicheria, where they specialize in fish and shellfish and whose main dish is the ceviche but they also offer many accompaniments to fill you up. Most cevicherías are simple modest places, however, recently top chef’s have opened Cevicherias offering major degrees of sophistication and a variety of dishes, without loosing there typical popular charm and good taste.

Pedro D'Onofrio, an Italian immigrant, arrived on the shores of Peru in the 19th century and built the largest dessert empire in the country. Cafés were an important part of his business, and the most elegant was located in San Isidro. Intellectuals, politicians, artists and businesspersons meet here, especially in the evening, to enjoy the café atmosphere. Other fare on the menu includes sandwiches, desserts, deli items and natural juices. In this particular ice cream parlour, there is a combination of flavours to choose from which they creatively serve in copas (glasses).

The two-level, spacious cafe has an outside terrace overlooking one of the busiest streets in the Miraflores area. It maintains the quality and cordial service of yesteryear and has remained a popular cafe in the neighborhood. Highbrow Peruvians and foreigners can be found here mingling in a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Local and international dishes, desserts, cold drinks and cocktails are on the menu. It's a good place for a sandwich lunch or to order a cup of coffee and watch the world pass by.

It is situated in an area of old homes and haciendas, providing a perfect way to spend the day with friends and family in down-home country surroundings. The prix fixe buffet is a fun and affordable way to eat all you can. The young ones will enjoy the playground area and pony rides. Specialties of the house include the fresh garden salad with special dressing and the innovative drink list.

Characterized by an extremely lively atmosphere, this is Lima's Brazilian spot par excellence. Located in the heart of Miraflores, the bar's pleasant terrace overlooks the Parque Kennedy (Kennedy Park). The waitresses are very friendly and display all the vivacity associated with Brazilian culture. People come to this bar for well-made caipirinhas and other tasty drinks, but those who visit on a Saturday can sample feijoada, a typical Brazilian dish made with beans. The bar opens daily at 7 p.m.

Dove Vai is an ice cream parlor and café located in one of the busiest streets in Miraflores. Breakfast costs between 6.5 and 8.5 soles. The cafeteria serves sandwiches, pizzas, juices, milkshakes, cakes and delicious ice cream. The ambience is modern and not at all stuffy, with a large outdoor seating area and excellent service.

At Murphy's Irish Pub you can sample a fine selection of local and international beers and cocktails. You can socialize with locals, travelers and Expats alike, or you can sit down and relax with a cold pint. Have fun testing your talent over at the pool table or in the dart room - both free of charge - or rock out to the live bands that perform Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays. And feel free to come hungry, because a delicious assortment of traditional pub food is available every night of the week. The bar is a short walk from the main park in the center of Miraflores and to all the major hotels in the area. Get over there and start your night out right - in the Irish fashion! The pub opens Monday-Saturday at 6 p.m.

One of the best restaurants in the area and in recent years one of the most popular, Mangos is famous for its delicious breakfast buffets, brunches and lunches. The modern eatery has plenty of windows with a view of the well-known Ovalo Gutiérrez of Miraflores. Music videos are projected for the diverse clientèle of all ages who come here for international and traditional Peruvian cuisine. If you forego the tempting buffet, you can choose among a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, and desserts offered on the menu. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are also available.

A restaurant with a difference. Upon entering, you will receive an open and friendly welcome, and the servers are very attentive to their customers. Si Senor serves the best in traditional Mexican food and drink, and has a colorful, modern atmosphere that will get you out of the old routine.

This restaurant is located in the financial district of San Isidro. The place is small, but the quality of its cooking comes highly recommended. Here you will find a great selection of dishes and delicious apéritifs belonging to the best Japanese cuisine. They have a good service and will attend to your every need. Furthermore, they have a delivery service that covers most of the city of Lima, at no additional charge. The car park is security monitored.

Located in the heart of Miraflores, Bavaria serves many different types of food. The menu features a selection of German and Peruvian food, fish, seafood and the famous Bavaria fillet steak. The restaurant also has a delicious sushi bar in the basement. Bavaria is decorated in traditional style, with a dining area on the terrace.

With 23 years of experience, Palachinke is the perfect place to go when you want a pancake. A large selection of sweet and savory pancakes is on offer here. A variety of hot and cold sandwiches and pure fruit juices is also available. The restaurant is attractively decorated with a spacious and inviting terrace. Upon entering, you can watch the pancakes being freshly prepared.

The archaeological centre, Huaca Pullana dates back to 200-700 AD. This huge construction, made from small handmade, sun-dried brick, is 22 meters high. It is divided into two areas, for ceremonial and administrative ends. Guided tours include a visit through the museum, the small park with native flora and fauna and the craftsmen's house where handicrafts are on exhibit and for sale. Admission is free.

This teahouse, mirroring the French patisseries of yesteryear, was built in 1946 by Jean Louis Pinaud and his wife Suzanne Garda. It has since become something of a tradition in San Isidro. Today there are also two other locations to tempt your sweet tooth—in the Larco Mar shopping centre and in the Farmacia Dezza. The owners are especially famous for such French delights as madeleines, sacristains, croissants, brioches, profiteroles and their assortment of sandwiches, desserts, cakes, cookies and homemade ice cream. Nothing could be better than an espresso or cappuccino to sip alongside.
