Arrive in Lima and enjoy guided city sightseeing. Next, fly to Cuzco for a guided city sightseeing introducing you to various ancient sites. Enjoy an excursion to the town of Pisac to visit with locals and buy native wares before visiting the Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo. The highlight of your trip begins with a train ride through the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu. You may want to walk up to the Sun Gate, the ancient entrance used by the Incas. After a morning at leisure in Machu Picchu, return to Cuzco for some free time followed by a free day in Lima for the flexibility to discover Peru on your own. On Day 7, fly from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado, entry to the Amazon Jungle. Embark on a motorboat journey up the Tambopata River to view turtles, caimans, monkeys, and river birdlife. Your unique Amazon Jungle lodge is located within the Ese’ Eja Native Indian Community.
