Roman Baths Museum

As they say, when in Bath....The Roman Bath Museum doesn't sound thrilling, but it's actually a fun visit, not just some ruins around a pool of water. It's divided into four sections displaying artifacts and there are some great stories on the audio tour.

You will not be bored, and you'll come away wishing you had more time to spend there - and maybe learn a little history, to boot!

Bath Abbey

One of the best medieval churches in England, both the interior and exterior offer stunning architecture. It's also a great place to escape and unwind for a few hours and recoup. Their gift shop is one of the better offerings around, and a nice place to pick up souvenirs with a good book selection as well.

Not a whole day trip in and of itself, but definitely schedule an hour or two for this.

The Royal Crescent

Take some time to visit the Royal Crescent, a magnificent crescent of 30 houses designed by John Wood in the 18th Century. You can visit No. 1 Royal Crescent, a gorgeous restored Georgian towhome which has been redecorated to resemble what it would have been like at the end of the 18th century.

Touring the home makes you feel like one of the wealthy of the time, and you'll leave wanting to have a cup of tea and a scone.

The Jane Austin Center

The Jane Austen Centre offers you a snapshot of life during Regency times and explores how living in this magnificent city affected Jane Austen’s life and her writing. It's not a guided tour, but after an informative talk, you can roam through the exhibits that have some gorgeous costumes.

Take a break on the second floor in the tea room and rest your feet, the tea is out of this world!

Bizarre Bath Tour

One of the most popular things to do in Bath, if you have an evening free, you will love this 90 minute 'walking tour' - which is actually 90 minutes of laughs and fun. You'll feel more like you've been to a great comedy show rather than taking a historical stroll through Bath.

Theatre Royal

Gorgeous 17th Century building, if you have a chance, take in one of the evening plays. The auditorium is one of the best examples of Georgian architecture, well worth the admission.

We loved the play that we saw, but it was a little difficult to understand the accents!
