Petits Trains de Cannes

Explore the charming city of Cannes from this little train. You can choose from two routes that pass through the city's famous and beautiful sights. The Croisette tour takes you along Cannes' famous seafront. Welcoming beaches, the facades of its luxury hotels and the famous Palais des Festivals are its main stops. The Suquet tour explores the old town of Suquet.

Plage du Majestic

Directly opposite the hotel and a few meters from the Palais des Festivals (home to the annual film festival), the Majestic's private beach welcomes you to spend a day in the sun. If you're feeling lazy, tan on the sunbeds. Otherwise, you could go waterskiing, cycling or play table tennis. Pedalos and boat trips are also available. At the end of the exhausting day, head to the restaurant for some succulent seafood.

ZPlage

The Martinez Hotel's private beach is paradise: fine sand, upscale comfort and wealthy patrons. ZPlage is the largest beach on La Croisette. There are numerous sports activities on offer; including parasailing, offshore racing, helicopter rides, water-skiing, sailing, windsurfing, and scuba diving. During the International Film Festival, the beach's pontoon becomes the site of the Canal+ (French pay-TV channel) studios.

Aqua Evolution

Aqua Evolution, the fun diving school will have you exploring the bay and the seabed around the Lérins islands in no time! All levels of experience are catered to. Classes are given to individuals for a half-day or to groups (mornings in winter and mornings and afternoons in summer). Equipment is available for hire and the school's friendly staff put you at ease

Plage du Gray d'Albion

Gray d'Albion's private beach is situated just 200 meters (220 yards) from La Croisette. It has all the facilities a four-star hotel can offer. It includes a wide range of activities to choose from, like water skiing, where a qualified instructor is on hand to help beginners. The beach restaurant is open in the evening, and offers an à la carte menu of mixed salads, fish dishes and top-class Lebanese cuisine. The hotel's beach is open to the general public and is closed between December and March.

Zénith Plage

Zenith Plage is one of the cheaper private beaches on La Croisette. It is located between Miramar Beach and the Plage du Martinez. This beach has its own pontoon and even a billiard table for guests to use.

Plage de Cannes (Cannes Beach)

A water-skiing instructor on this private beach will be happy to instruct you in the rudiments of this fun sport. Lounge chairs are available for rent. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere in which to soak up the sand, sea and sun. The hotel has a view of Cannes and its surroundings and the town center is only a stone's throw away.

Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage

On the Square Mérimée, in front of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, stands the Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage church. Designed by architect Laurent Vianay, it replaced a 1580 chapel called Notre-Dame de Bon Port (behind which, after his escape from Elba, Napoleon spent a night on March 2, 1815). The main door of the church is beautiful and has been designed and crafted by ceramist and artist Roger Capron. Though a century has passed, the construction of the church has only just been completed.

Calao Plage

Get set to have a blast at Calao beach, primely located between the Carlton and Martinez hotels on La Croisette. Take advantage of a variety of seasonal menus for evening receptions along with specially organized musical performances. Arrangements can also be made for themed nights or banquets in the florally decorated reception rooms. Deck chairs, locker rooms, warm showers, private sun decks, video games, table football, billiards, table tennis, pedal-boat rental, water-skiing, and massages are also offered. Season tickets and group discounts are available.

Église Orthodoxe Russe St-Michel-Archange

The blue onion-shaped dome atop this church is its most distinguishing feature. Église Orthodoxe Russe St-Michel-Archange was built in 1894 by Alexandra Skripytzine, a Russian exile. Its three golden crosses are also a symbol of Russian influence in the city in the 1800s. Be warned that it's usually locked, except for certain services.

Office du Tourisme du Palais des Festivals et des Congrés

Cannes' main tourist office not only boasts of a three-star rating, but is also equipped with a highly efficient, computerized system. This enables staff to give visitors all the information they need on Cannes and the surrounding areas. The office is situated in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrés, which hosts the town's famous International Film Festival. This is the ideal place to come for any information on hotels, restaurants, bars and sightseeing tours.

La Croisette

La Croisette gets its name from a small cross that used to stand east of the bay. A favorite spot for locals and visitors alike, this wonderful promenade, in the heart of town, hugs the seashore and its beaches for several kilometers. To one side there's the Mediterranean, the îLérins islands off the coast, and the Estérel mountain range. On the other, there are palm trees, elegant belle époque hotels and fashionable boutiques. It is an ideal place to people-watch, especially during the Film Festival. Created during the 19th Century,
