Hampton Court Hotel Bar

Situated at the beginning of the Kings Cross strip, this renovated hotel bar is open 24 hours. Entertainment on offer comprises of a gaming room and a Noodle House restaurant serving up a mixture of Asian cuisine. If you like a challenge, the bar offers both karaoke and pool competitions throughout the week.

Barons

Above Baron's restaurant and located in a side street off the main drag of Kings Cross where strip and peep shows are a dime a dozen, this place fits right in. Inside you will encounter a dimly lit room where a mixed crowd relax in booths and receive table service or sit at the bar for a drink. They drink to the sounds of a jukebox! Not a glamorous bar just a bar. The bar opens daily at 6p.

Mansions Hotel

With its wooden floors and light interior, Mansion Hotel is a regular meeting place for the twenty somethings, scantily clad in the latest fashions. During the day the bar serves snacks and light bites and on Thursday nights, live bands play. On the weekends the place packs out and the dance floor pumps to Top 40s popular music. Not the place to be if sweaty bodies are not your thing, but if you fancy a boogie then this could be the spot for you.

East Village

With two bars and a restaurant, East Village is a hot spot. The middle bar is characterized by big red booths and is a great place for a weekend drink. The Rooftop Bar has sweeping city views of Sydney and a marquee shelters its outdoor area so the party can continue regardless of the weather. The restaurant is the newest addition and serves up modern Australian cuisine. Fashionable and sleek, this venue attracts local crowd.

Bourbon & Beefsteak

This place, known as a haven for homesick Americans and a sailors hangout, is always open and always entertaining. From 5p until 9p, a pianist plays Golden Oldies tunes then until 3a on a weekday and weekends until 7a a rhythm and blues pop band or Top 40 music plays. Within the complex there are two discos, one playing techno and house the other playing retro and techno. Comfortable and traditional, this place is filled with a combination of locals and tourists. The Bourbon & Beefsteak serves an à la carte menu of seafood, Steak, Tex-Mex and the like. Breakfast is also served 24 hours.

The Empire Hotel

This Kings Cross location is a regular for locals and visitors alike and is one of the most frequented late night spots around town. With four uniquely different bars spread over the three storey building, pick one that suits you just fine and sit back and relax. Live music on Fridays and an option of DJs at the turntable, nights at Empire will never be slow paced or lazy. For the one who's looking out for some action, the pool tables around the place are a hit among its patrons.

Tonic Lounge

Tonic Lounge lends a comfortable and warm touch to what is visibly absent from a number of places. The very welcoming venue is a relaxed and laid-back place to lounge around and have a private conversation without being perturbed by loud blaring music. The two storied Victorian structure lends it a Gothic old world charm yet leaving a lot for you to sneak in here and find out. On weekends, city's top DJ's churn out great music, making this place the most frequented haunt in town.

The World Bar

The World Bar in the lively city of Sydney is an apt place to hold functions and private parties. Apart from hosting a few, one can even be a part of the regular live music shows held here.
