Le Farfalla

Clubbers often come here for a bite before moving onto the Cat Corner nightclub next door. Stylish wooden surroundings and subdued lighting combine to create a relaxed atmosphere. Here, tasty and unpretentious cuisine is the order of the day. This is an enviable location, opposite the Palais des Festivals (where the Film Festival is held annually), and between La Croisette's beaches and the old port. The cafe is buzzing at lunchtime with the office crowd.

Le Restaurant Arménien

An excellent place to try out Armenian cuisine, this restaurant combines innovative culinary skills with the traditional cuisine. The national dish at Le Restaurant Arménien, is keshkeg (a mixture of beef and wheat), while the numerous starters include dolmas (vine leaves and stuffed vegetables). Festival

Relax over a meal or a drink here on the terrace (heated in winter) as you watch the world go by on La Croisette seafront. The fabulous, home-made pastries served here at breakfast are a festival legend and there's an excellent wine list (including a Château Pétrus) to accompany the seasonal menu. Morrison's Irish Pub

This is one of the popular pubs in Cannes, famous for its giant television screens and theme nights. Guinness and Kilkenny are the top thirst quenchers and live bands play traditional Irish folk, Rock or Blues. Sports fans are kept happy with big sporting events relayed on a large screen. It has souvenir T-shirts and polo shirts for sale, and bookings are taken for private functions (150 people max).

Plage de Cannes (Cannes Beach)

A water-skiing instructor on this private beach will be happy to instruct you in the rudiments of this fun sport. Lounge chairs are available for rent.
