Latina

With a convenient location in the Food Street area of the Jin Jiang Hotel, Latina is known throughout Shanghai for its authentic South American food and festive atmosphere. This is a very bright and cheery venue. A Brazilian band plays nightly, livening things up for the party mood between 6:30p and 10p. Latina offers diners genuine South American dishes. There is also a buffet of salads, pastas and desserts, along with an all-you-can-eat barbecue.

Manhattan Bar

The Manhattan Bar is popular with locals and tourists like. Pulling in the late night owls, it has a faithful set of customers. Black and white pictures adorn the chocolate colored walls and you can also look at pictures of previous visitors. Grab your friends and mingle with people of all nationalities while you sip on your drinks.

KABB Bar & Grill

Chunky red decors combined with romantic candlelight and somber music create a kind of impressive atmosphere that makes KABB a chic place. The restaurant serves home-style western cuisine in an old Shanghai building, where people of different countries and colors come to enjoy the time and leisure. In the cozy and light-hearted surroundings, they offer excellent service and the delights of adequate food and grills. Their menu features a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, pastas and steaks. The Chicken Feta Pasta and New Zealand Lamb Chops are recommended. OPen daily 7am onwards.

Delifrance

This French-style cafe/bakery is located on Shanghai's busiest commercial street. It belongs to a popular Hong Kong chain known for its sandwiches, great pastries and cheap breakfasts. The light, spacious interior resembles a Parisian cafe with quaint prints and nostalgic advertisements adorning the walls, and small wooden tables and chairs around the room. A magazine rack offers Chinese and English language reading material. Order from a variety of Western breakfasts, such as your choice of bacon, ham or sausage with eggs, a baguette and coffee. Eat in or take-away.

Gino's Cafe

This branch (at the Parkson Department Store) is one of many in the city, notable for its catchy brown signs and yellow writing. The Gino's Cafe branches are reasonably cheap places to eat for a quick lunch or casual dinner.The interior is modern and comfortable with high stools and coffee tables. More standard table seating is also available, and the service is efficient and polite. Hop in to try a wide selection of tasty pastas and pizzas, as well as sandwiches and desserts.

Visit Nelly's for a quiet evening out. The place offers delicious varieties of coffee and also has an impressive bar where you can simply chill out and forget all worries. So whether you are in the mood to drink something hot or cold, Nelly's has it all.

Qing Yi Cafe

Visit Qing Yi Cafe if you have an eye for modern art. Treat your eyes to some wonderful paintings by new local artistes and refresh your grey cells with some hot gulps of coffee.

Ye Lai Xiang

Located on the third floor of the Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai, Ye Lai Xiang features an extensive cocktail list. Savour your favourite drink in the peaceful atmosphere of the bar and if you happen to be there during summer, simply relax in the beer garden outside. With a capacity of about 62 people, the bar can also be booked for private parties.

Ying Yang

Ying Yang is always crowded with foreign students from Italy and France as well as the local youth. If you want to relax in a peaceful atmosphere, order your drink in the quiet and elegant main bar and if you are in a mood to party, hit the discotheque in the basement.

Jurassic Pub

Inspired by Spielberg's Jurassic Park, the Jurassic Pub has skeletons of dinosaurs hanging in its central bar. The place gets a bit crowded during evenings as it is a favourite with Shanghai's local crowd. So be there in time, ask for a glass of wine or beer and simply relax.

TMSK

The name of this eatery stands for Tou Ming Si Kao—four Chinese characters that roughly translate as “The Crystal Mind”. This uber-cool spot is famed for its kaleidoscopic colored-glass bar and textured interiors. Traditional lanterns add a mystic ambiance to the place—even the outdoor area is screened in with wire mesh and mirrors. Separate areas allow smokers to indulge while not encroaching upon others' olfactory nerves, while the VIP room sports the furnishings of a royal banquet hall. Excellent cocktails, iced teas and innovative cuisine served up in equally compelling designer glassware will make you forgive the rather sporadic service. Make sure you peek into their souvenir shop on your way out.
