Sun Temple, Konark, Orissa

The Konark Sun Temple is one of the many temples in India dedicated to the Sun God, but it is by far the finest. The main temple is embellished with intricate carvings both on the inside and outside. However, the high point of this temple is that it is said to be an exact replica of the chariot of the Sun God, as if frozen in stone. It was 2007, when i visit this famous temple.I want suggest to first time travelers that hoe can he reach there :

Konark does not have an airport and the nearest airports are at Bhubaneshwar 65 km away and Puri 35 km away. The railheads nearest to Konark are again at Puri and Bhubaneswar. These two stations are connected to all the major cities in India through long-distance trains. Konark is well connected with other parts of the country through a good network of roads. Travelers can make use of taxis, private cars, and mini buses to move around the city and to reach the Sun Temple.

Varanga Digamber Jain Math and Jain Temple

The Jain temple at Karkala is a simple but splendid piece of architecture reflecting the devotion of the Jain people towards Gandharva�a Jain deity. A monolithic granite statue of Gandharva located within the precincts of the temple adds to the charm of this simple shrine of an ancient religion. I was came here in June month of 2006.I want suggest to first time travelers that hoe can he reach there :
Karkala is a small town located in the southern part of Karnataka. It is 55 km north of the city of Mangalore. Travelers can reach Karkala from Mangalore by bus. The travel time from Mangalore to Karkala is about 2 hours. The temples of Karkala are located on a hillock on the outskirts of the town

Chennakesava Temple

Belur city of Karnataka is famous for its Chennakeshava Temple, which was built by the Hoysala rulers, who ruled over this region between the 10th and 13th centuries. Apart from being able rulers the Hoysala kings were great patrons of architecture. They developed a unique style of temple architecture during their reign, of which the Chennakeshava Temple in Belur is the finest example. Like all Hoysala temples the Chennakeshava Temple, too is famous for its sculptures and ornate friezes. It was 2008, when i visit this temple. I have a one tips for new travelers ..... ...
Belur does not have an airport. The nearest airport is located at Mangalore (154 km from Belur), which is well connected to other major cities of India.

The nearest railhead is at Hassan (38 km from Belur), which is connected to Mangalore, Mysore and Bangalore.

The main bus stand in Belur is 1 km from the Chennakeshava Temple. The bus service from Belur to Bangalore (222 km from Belur), Halebid, Hassan, Mangalore, Sravanabelgola and Mysore is good. You can make use of, tourist taxis and auto-rickshaws to move around in Belur.

Meenakshi Temple

The grandeur of the Meenakshi temple has remained undiminished for the past two thousand years. This sprawling and awe-inspiring temple complex is not only a marvel of architecture but also a veritable treasure trove of Indian culture and civilization. Madurai has daily flights from Madras (Chennai) and four times a week from Bangalore. It is an important railway junction on the Southern Railway network. It is connected, through Madras (Chennai), to major centers in India. It is also connected to the major towns and cities in Tamil Nadu by bus.

The Dilwara Temples

The exquisitely carved marble temples of Dilawara in Mount Abu are the finest examples of Jain temples in India. The hallmark of these temples is the crisp translucent shell-like treatment of marble, which surpasses anything seen elsewhere. No matter how much one hears or reads about these temples, nothing can prepare one for the sheer elegance and beauty of marble as displayed here. I was here in 2006. I want suggest to first time travelers that hoe can he reach there :
The nearest airport to Mount Abu is Udaipur (185 km) from where one can hire a taxi or take a bus. The nearest railway station is Abu Road 29 km away. Abu Road is connected to both Ahmedabad and Jodhpur. Ahmedabad is 222 km via Palanpur. Jodhpur is 264 km via Pali and Sirhoi, taxis are easily available from these places for going to Abu. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Council also conducts tours to the interesting spots in Mount Abu.
