Best beaches in California

Crystal Cove

Crystal Cove is so beautiful -- definitely my favorite beach in the state. It's secluded and clean, and it always has a really family vibe to the crowd.

Newport Beach, CA

I live in Newport, so maybe I'm a little biased. But it's absolutely spectacular. The beach itself, near the numbered streets, isn't absolutely amazing. It's full of college students and kind of has a slacker vibe to it. But the whole of Balboa is fun and has a lotttt to do (shopping, games, etc.) and at night, there's no better place to walk with that special someone :)

Laguna Beach, CA

Laguna Beach is definitely the most beautiful beach I've been to. It's clean and it's safe. The people are beautiful and nice. The city behind the beach is fun and has a lot to do.

Santa Cruz, CA

Not only is there a TONNNN to do on the boardwalk (shopping, rides, games, food...) but the beach in Santa Cruz is absolutely gorgeous. Though sometimes a little cold, it's a great way to end a day at the boardwalk!

San Diego, CA

This definitely goes without saying, but San Diego is magnificent. I have been with my family every summer since starting college, and it's always a blast. There's a TON to do in the city, and even though the beach is sometimes a bit crowded, it's SO worth it for big waves, warm water, and the best sun around!
