Hersheypark

Hersheypark is a great place to spend some adventurous family time. There is something fun there for everyone, even toddlers. You can't help but love the rides and it is so cute to see children chase the hershey kiss mascot around. I have only gone in the summertime and while it is hot, there is nothing like having some ice cream after a cool coaster ride. Food can be costly so take that into account.

Dutch Wonderland

My daughter loves this park. It is actually the first theme park she ever visited. They sell great chocolate chip cookies too. My husband and I thought we might get bored since the park truly caters to young children but we had a ball! It was so much fun. We choose to go on opening day each season and hope it doesn't rain.

Children's Museum

This museum is a great place to spend a morning if you happen to be vacationing in PA like we do often. The museum has lots of creative hands on activities such as building your own little car to race down a ramp and a giant light bright type of art project. We stop in occasionally so that our toddler can go wild checking everything out. I don't like to go during the afternoon as sometimes the kids get cranky and tired.

indian echo caverns

This is a great easy viewing cavern worth taking a look at. We went last summer during early afternoon hours. Be warned that you may want to go on a weekend since during the week lots of school children take trips to see the cavern. Young children will have a hard time walking in the caverns, we carried our toddler through the place but she loved it. Take a jacket since it is like 50 degrees down there.

Swatara State Park

Summer fun is the only way to describe this park. It has a lovely creek hiking area and there are also paddle boats available. It's great for your older kids. I enjoy going with family just to have a nice hike and especially in the fall with all the great leaves in various colors. Bring a pack lunch since there are tons of great spots to sit and have a snack.
