Yongala Dive

At it's lowest it's can be almost 30m deep, but from 14m down you begin to see the underwater world you always dreamed of seeing when beginning to dive. Sharks, rays, turtles, snakes, dolphins, giant fish - this place has everything! If you have to dive one place in the Great Barrier Reef, make this the one. It's completely worth it. Water starts to get warmer in Australian summer obviously, and visibility can change depending on weather, but whenever you go you're guaranteed to get the dive of your life.

Utila

When you come here you're coming for one thing, and one thing only: Whale Sharks. Utila is in the migratory path for the biggest fish in the sea, and that makes it a pretty good place to be able to swim with them. The sun and nice beaches are great, but the opportunity to swim with the gentle giant tops it all.

Galapagos Islands

Expensive to get to, but worth the rough times. The Galapagos is where Charles Darwin cemented his theory of evolution, and it could end up being where you wish we evolved into an underwater species. Tons of fish, schools of HAMMERHEAD SHARKS!, and the slight possibility that upon ascent you would find yourself face to face with a giant swimming lizard make this place a wild kingdom deserving of the money and the time. Let's hope they keep it protected.

Red Sea

You'll find a lot more dive tours leaving from Egypt, but anyway to get out on the Red Sea is good. Great visibility, tons of colorful fish, awesome corals, this is a place where pictures are taken. You can get to some good wrecks if you want to, or just make it a shore dive from wherever you're staying. Sharks will be there, so keep your wits about you and just sit back and enjoy.

Thousand Islands, Orleans, NY 13640

It's cold around here almost every month but June, July, and August, but for a real change of pace diving the 1000 islands is great! The visibility has really cleared up in recent years, and you'll have the opportunity to check out some nicely preserved wrecks from as far back as the Revolutionary War. You'll see some trout, bass, and all the other freshwater standards - but the real winners are the ships. Wear a dry suit!
