Lancashire County Cricket Club

The Lancashire County Cricket Club hosts the cricket games of the famous Lancashire Lightning cricket team and other British and International cricket tournaments. Aside from organizing sports events, the Lancashire County Cricket Club has hosted several rock live concerts over the past few years in their main field, which is known as the Old Trafford. This club formed in 1864 recently implemented a non-smoking policy in most of its areas.

Old Trafford Cricket Ground

Old Trafford has been home to the Manchester Cricket Club since 1856 and to the Lancashire County Cricket Club since it was founded in 1864. International Test matches have been played here since 1884 and it is also one of the wettest test cricket venues in England and Wales! Occasionally, the venue is used for large music concerts like when hometown band Oasis played in 2002. Several other popular bands including the Foo Fighters, the Strokes, and Eagles of Death Metal have played there as well. Future plans for Old Trafford involve the development of a new 25,000+ seater stadium with new stands, a hotel and sport-related educational/training opportunities for all.

Old Trafford Football Ground

Old Trafford nicknamed as 'Theater of Dreams' is a famous football ground located in Greater Manchester. Opened in 1910, it is home to the celebrated Manchester United Club. It has hosted prestigious tournaments like 'FIFA World Cup' , 'Euro 96' and the '2003 UEFA Champions League Final'. Apart from football, games like shinty, baseball and cricket were also played here. Legendary artists like Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen have hosted their concerts at Old Trafford. The space is also rented out for private events and functions like weddings and Christmas parties.
