Place Saint-Sernin

The Saint Sernin Basilica is one of the biggest Romanesque churches in Occitane, and the second oldest in France. And it has a small crypt that in fact is the old church. Has many wodden artifacts carved with much skill.

Capitole

The Capitole is the most important political building in the city and it was finished in 1792, it is located in the place du Capitole. The oldest part of the building is the "donjon" or dungeon that survived the changes in the building and it is famous for the incarceration and torture of a local merchant, that three years later Voltaire accomplished that that the case was reviewed and the rehabilitation of his memory.

Pont Neuf

The Pont Neuf is one of the icons that distinguishes Toulouse by being the second oldest bridge in the city, and it joins the old town with the new neighborhood of Cours Dillon. Its construction was ordered by the Capitouls, the old council of the city, and it makes a nice landscape when viewed from afar.

Basilique La Daurade

The "Basilique La Daurade" is a relatively modern building that was constructed to take the place of an old romanesque church in ruins, but the place that it occupies has served as a place for cult since the roman times and maybe before. As a proof of this the Basilica holds the "virge noire" or black virgin, an old relic of Christianity.

Cathédrale Saint-Etienne

This cathedral is an example of how the Romanesque and the Gothic style can be put together in a single project, the main body of the cathedral is Romanesque and the choir is Gothic, the furniture in the choir is a mix of this two styles. And is the only church in France that still has all its original windows with medieval glass.
