Commerzbank Arena Stadion Frankfurt Management GmbH

The Comerzbank was the tallest skyscraper in Europe until 2005. It is 259 meters tall. You must see this building's illumination at night, a yellow light scheme designed by Thomas Ende. Its main construction material is steel, instead of cheaper concrete.

Museumsuferfest

This "Museums Riverbank Festival" takes place at the end of August, on both sides of the Main riverbank, where more than 20 museums are located. The museums stay open far into the night, and there are many special attractions like dance shows and live bands. An amazing firework display usually closes the 3 days festival.

Städel Kunstinstitut

The Städel Museum has one of the most important art collections in Germany, with more than 2,500 paintings. During World War II, the Nazis confiscated part of the collection for being "degenerate art". The gallery was damaged by air raids and it was rebuilt in 1966. Fortunately, the collection had been moved out of Frankfurt to protect it from bombs.

Cafe Laumer

Here you can taste some of Frankfurt's best specialties, like Benthmännchen and Frankfurter Kranz. The Cafe Laumer is known for its most famous client, the philosopher and musicologist Theodor Adorno, who used to come everyday for coffee.

Hauptwache

Baroque building constructed in 1730, used as a prison until 1904, when it was turned into one of the numerous cafés in Frankfurt. Today, eight S-Bahn (subway) lines cross at the Hauptwache Plaza. The whole area was heavily damaged during World War II.
