Marc Suites Waikiki

If you are looking for roomy accommodations, this condo-hotel in Waikiki offers spacious, affordably priced studios and one or two-bedroom suites with full kitchenettes. All suites have a lanai (balcony); some overlook the open courtyard swimming pool. The hotel is convenient to public transportation and Waikiki shopping and entertainment; the beach is about three blocks away. This is one of a half-dozen Marc properties in Waikiki.

Radisson Hotel Waikiki

This deluxe full-service hotel at the quiet end of Waikiki, one block from the beautiful Waikiki Beach, offers spectacular ocean and mountain views and amenities to please both business and vacation travelers. Guest rooms, as well as the 10th-floor swimming pool and other parts of the property, are newly renovated. Hotel facilities include the exclusive Kuhio Club, personalized service for weddings and receptions, a 24-hour business center, restaurants, shops and valet dry cleaning.

Outrigger Reef on the Beach

This deluxe beach front hotel is situated right on the white sands of famous Waikiki Beach, across from Fort DeRussy and a hop away from lively Lewers Street. It's one of fewer than 10 hotels to occupy this strip of prime beach front property. Three towers feature spacious guest rooms with a contemporary tropical decor. Three restaurants are on site, including tourist favorite Shorebird Beach Broiler. Beach services include surfing lessons, catamaran sails and outrigger canoe rides. The hotel recently underwent a $50 million refurbishment of guest rooms, pool deck, public areas and frontage. Room rates for Moderate rooms start from USD289 and City View start from USD339, though check for best available rates.

Hawaii Prince Hotel

All of Waikiki's most famous attractions are only moments away, but this hotel still retains an atmosphere of secluded tranquility. In a hotel this large and luxurious, it's impossible to feel cramped or hurried. The hotel is located just five minutes from Ala Moana Shopping Center, and offers a shuttle to nearby Waikiki Beach. It also offers shuttle service to the the affiliated Hawaii Prince Golf Course (three 9-hole layouts in total). Three restaurants are onsite.

Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort

Dozens of activities and attractions are a few footsteps away when you stay at this hotel. It is located in the heart of Waikiki, the beating heart of Honolulu, and is surrounded by world-class shopping and dining. Several restaurants and bars are located within the hotel. Other facilities include water sport facilities, two swimming pools, the classy Hanohano Room and a shopping arcade that features 20 specialty stores. Hawaiian entertainment is featured nightly alongside the pool.

The Imperial of Waikiki

Spacious, pristine accommodations can be found at this downtown condominium complex. While some of the units are individually owned, the property still offers a full range of guest services. The rooms feature wet bars, movies on command, kitchenettes and other amenities, depending on size. A two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite with a full kitchen and a lanai starts at only $185 per night - about what you'd pay for a single room at one of Honolulu's luxury hotels.

Waikiki Resort Hotel

Located just minutes from the world's most famous beach, this hotel offers a gorgeous island setting, elegant rooms and all the usual hotel amenities for affordable prices. The newly renovated hotel offers a cafe, an award-winning restaurant, a lounge and several gift shops. It is conveniently located in the heart of Honolulu, close to the Zoo, the Aquarium and Kapiolani Park. The hotel is owned by the chairman of Korean airlines. Many of the employees are multi-lingual, and much of its printed information is available in English, Japanese and Korean.

Sheraton Princess Kaiulani

A more modest alternative to the Sheraton Moana Surfrider is this pleasant Waikiki Beach hotel, which offers attractive accommodations and a variety of on-site dining and entertainment options. With the "Stay at One, Play at All" program, guests of this hotel can enjoy the facilities of the Surfrider or any other Honolulu Sheraton. Live entertainment is featured poolside every evening, and the hotel's Polynesian Revue draws tourists from all over the world. Dozens of shops, restaurants and bars are within two blocks of the hotel.

Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

In this flagship hotel in the Outrigger chain, more than half of the guest rooms have a partial or full ocean view. Besides a prime beachfront location on the busiest part of Kalakaua Avenue, the hotel boasts three restaurants including the legendary Duke's Canoe Club, a showroom with popular nightly entertainment by the Society of Seven, business services, a fitness center and the Voyagers Club concierge level. Gallerie Lassen and Coach Leatherwear are among the onsite shops. Daily room rates include a compact car or two breakfasts per room. Pacific Beach Hotel

This deluxe 38-story hotel fronting Waikiki Beach holds guestrooms offering dramatic ocean, mountain or city views. There are two towers, the Beach Tower built in 1969 and the Oceanarium Tower built in 1979. Lots of tourists come here to dine in one of the three restaurants, most often the Oceanarium or Neptune's Garden, both of which offer impressive views of the three-story 280,000 gallon aquarium. Onsite facilities include two tennis courts, a full-service health spa and a shopping arcade.

Ilima Hotel

This establishment combines condo-style rooms with hotel amenities (such as daily maid service), making it a perfect choice for budget-conscious families and long-term guests. Each unit has a full kitchen with microwave oven, private lanai (balcony) and excellent amenities. In addition, the hotel offers free parking - always a score in crowded Waikiki. Studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites are also available. The staff is warm and gracious.

Aqua Island Colony Hotel

Located just two blocks from Waikiki Beach, this good-sized condominium complex has established a faithful contingent of return visitors. Guests can relax by the pool, take in the stunning city views, or venture out and down the block to the main drag. This is an excellent option for long-term vacation rentals or short-term corporate housing. The complex offers a variety of services and amenities, including on-site laundry facilities, a sauna and a Chinese restaurant. There is a weekly Manager's Mai Tai Party.
