Located at Le Royal Méridien Shanghai, The Favola Pizzeria, Ristorante and Bar does an interesting Italian with a Chinese twist. The decor is contemporary, stylish and vibrant. Only the freshest ingredients are used here and if you need proof check out the open show kitchen. Favola also has a private wine room and an open pizza oven. The lounge area also contains a bar with a stage for live entertainment.

789 Nanjing Road

789 Nanjing Lu is a semi private bar located at the top three levels of Le Royal Méridien Shanghai. This allows for amazing views of the city and uninterrupted views of the Bund and the Huang Po River, 360 degrees around the city. 789 is not a loud dance club but rather a meeting point where good conversation and great music go hand in hand. Enjoy a drink or maybe a dance.

Allure

Allure is the finest French dining experience one can find at Le Royal Méridien Shanghai and possibly the best in the whole of Shanghai. The food is absolutely exquisite and elegantly presented. If money is not an issue don't give this place a miss, for you will not regret. Try the excellent La Truffle Noire, or the smoked black cod in nut-brown butter, stewed shallots and red wine sauce, topped with a few banana slices and finish off with the Berry Crumble—fresh berries, cookie crumble, vanilla creme and berry ice cream served in a martini glass.

Ai Mei Chinese Restaurant

The fish tank archway welcomes you to the Ai Mei Chinese Restaurant at Le Royal Méridien Shanghai. The place is a favorite among the locals and the tourists alike. Although the place is well equipped and offers tasty and unique dim sum, the service does leave a lot to be desired. Ai Mei is also great to hang out in the company of friends and is always crowded on the weekend.

Le Bistrot

Le Bistrot can be found at Le Royal Méridien Shanghai. It's a famous place among locals and tourists. It does well as it offers a mix of international, Asian and Western cuisine which caters to the choice of many. Also the food is prepared well and elegantly presented, pleasing to the eye and the palate. They also offer breakfast, lunch, dinner buffets and ingredients used here are guaranteed fresh.

Nan Xiang

This fast food joint has been in business for the past hundred years. The eatery has been refurbished with modern amenities to make your visit more comfortable. The casual ambience and the tasty authentic food makes this eatery a favorite among locals. The Small Steamed Meat Bun and Crab Meat Xialongbao are must haves. People flock in by the crowd only to feast on the juicy dumplings on offer. If you find a never ending queue, stay assured it's heading towards the take away counter. Make sure you reach on time, as they're very particular about their closing hours.

Hong Chang Xing

This is the first hot pot restaurant to open in Shanghai, dating back as early as 1891! It's famous for its mutton hot pot which shows influences of Mongolian-style hot pot. There are several locations to choose from, and you get the same fine standards of food and service whichever location you choose. Other location is on 2F-3F, 28 Xi Zang South Road.

Huanghe Lu

This crazy street is full of eateries blazing with bright lights, emitting smells of the heavenly seafood sizzling on the burners. A trip down Huanghe Lu is essential to experience Shanghai's colorful cuisine and friendly hospitality. Looking at the chattering foodies, gobbling down the fresh catch of the day and downing bottles of local liquor, you are tempted to join in. So don't let anything stop you!

Chunfeng Songyue Lou

Amidst the hubbub of the Yu Yuan commercial complex, lies this modest vegetarian eatery which is oblivious to the din surrounding it. An old-time restaurant, it serves traditional Shanghai dishes with tofu and soy disguised as meat, accompanied with noodles and dumplings. The second floor has a more formal ambiance, but you can let your hair down on the first floor which is pleasantly cheaper. Sample the crab, which is nothing but carrot, mushroom and bamboo and the orange peel 'duck', but 'the' dish not to be missed is the award-winning noodle soup with gluten and mushrooms.

Shanghai Lao Fandian

Have experimental taste buds? Come down to Shanghai Lao Fandian and get a taste of unusual yet equally delicious traditional Shanghai Cuisine. Roasted duck cooked to perfection in local herbs or a more popular 'Eel' preparation, leaves you craving for more. Although, if you are looking out for a swanky diner, this isn't it. This restaurant is smaller and less fancier than many upscale options available in the city, however there is no compromise in the food served. Delicious meals at reasonable rates in a simple ambiance—Shanghai Lao Fandian folks!

Lingo Bistrot

If you are looking for a place to hang out with friends then Lingo Bistrot is the place to head out to. Comfortable and spacious is how the interiors of the popular place can be described. The service is warm and friendly and the food is awesome. Apart form the tasty starters and main dishes, the Chocolate Fondant Cake is a definite must have. The wine list is extensive including famed international specials like Merlot or even Shiraz . Special occasions and private parties can be organized here. Check the website or call ahead for dining hours. 

Napa Wine Bar & Kitchen

With over six hundred wines to choose from, a simple meal at the Napa Wine Bar & Kitchen might take longer than expected. The experience however will definitely be memorable. The helpful staff will guide you through impressive parings of wine and food, ones that would make you go 'Hmmm- absolutely divine'. Try the Australian lamb Traid , Napa Gnoochi or even the American Redfish and you will keep coming back for more. Events like wine tasting and other private parties regularly take place at the restaurant. Special tabled areas can be set up for your special occasion.
