Hyde Park Towers Hotel

Nestled in quaint Bayswater, the Hyde Park Towers Hotel provides an ideal base within central London. The worldclass shopping on Oxford Street and Knightsbridge, the vibrant markets and cafes of Notting Hill, and the theater and nightlife that illuminate Piccadilly Circus are all at the hotel's doorstep. Enjoy London's great sights (Westminster Abbey, Harrods, and The Tower of London), and then stroll home through Hyde Park. After a day in the city, relax and indulge in the hotel's SmartSpaT, a rejuvinating spa-treatment room. Surrounded by English pubs and historic museums, the Hyde Park Towers Hotel promises a quintessential British experience.

Mitre House Hotel

The Mitre House Hotel, conveniently located for all of London's attractions, is an old family-run outfit. It's not special though the lounge and lobby, which must be the stuff of interior decorators' nightmares, is rather endearing. You can bet that you will never see the mix of Chesterfield sofas, rattan furniture and British Airways souvenir airplanes on the reception desk, anywhere else. The rooms have a slightly musty atmosphere with lots of browns and more wood and rattan. While they are not special, they are fairly comfortable and serve the purpose of resting your head after a long day.

Rhodes Hotel

This bright bed and breakfast is a lovely outfit run by a charming couple. It's a perfect place for singles, families and small groups. The husband Chris is an excellent decorator and it shows - the lobby feels like the inside of red Chinese lacquer box. Check out Chris's hand painted full-length Greek murals that adorn the high walls. The breakfast room has more Greek goddesses and lots of mirrors. The rooms are less elaborate but still very comfortable. Room rates are seasonal, so check the website for rates before visiting.

Nayland Hotel

Nayland Hotel is in the popular Paddington/Hyde Park area and is convenient for many sights of London including Madame Tussaud's and Oxford Street. It's fantastic value for money and the staff are the true gems of the London hotel trade. They are truly helpful and very charming. The rooms are not much to write home about but they are presentable and clean. Since its prices are on the low side for the area, the hotel is immensely popular so booking ahead of time is a must.

Beverley House Hotel

This small, family-run hotel is conveniently located near all of London's major sights including Oxford Street, Madame Tussaud's and Hyde Park. Tourists, particularly the Americans and Swedes, like it a lot for the friendly atmosphere and courteous service. The Victorian facade might be old but the rooms at the Beverley House Hotel are fairly new with all essential facilities such as hairdryers, TVs and radios.

Marble Arch Inn

This superbly located hotel is within a few minutes walk of the Marble Arch, Oxford Street and Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. It is also convenient for Paddington station's mainline, underground, and Heathrow Express links. The hotel was recently refurbished so all the rooms are clean with fairly modern interiors. The hotel prides itself on being welcoming, courteous and providing value for money, and usually manages to deliver on all three promises.

The Gower Hotel

With its decidedly downmarket feel, The Gower is generally more popular with tourists and backpackers than corporate travelers. Entering the hotel feels slightly ominous - it's rather dim and dingy and then there's the hole in the wall reception. It can be mildly distressing for those more used to the nondescript lobbies of chain hotels but others may see a perfect setting for an ultra-real urban novel or film. But still, the basic rooms are clean and cheaper (though not by much, this is the West End after all) than a lot of the hotels in the area and the staff are nice.

The Balmoral House Hotel

The Balmoral House hotel claims to be one of the few original and family-run bed and breakfast hotels in the Hyde Park area. It prides itself on its relaxing, warm, family atmosphere and its clean, comfortable facilities. It is also convenient for many of the major sights including Hyde Park, Oxford Street and Madam Tussaud's, while Paddington rail station is just a few minutes away from where it is just a 15 minute journey to Heathrow airport on the Heathrow Express.

Astor's Hyde Park Hostel

The Astor hostels were established in 1974 as the first independent youth hostels in London. They are aimed at 18-35 year old's. The Hyde Park hostel is the newest one and has mainly dormitory-style rooms for up to ten people, although there are some smaller twin-bedded rooms. It's in a great area, close to Hyde park itself, to Kensington Palace and Gardens, to Portobello Road, and to Paddington station from where it is just a 15 minute journey to Heathrow airport on the Heathrow Express. There are lots of pubs, cafes, restaurants and cinemas in the area and it's a popular place for visitors from all over.

Astor's Quest Hotel

The Astor hostels were established in 1974 as the first independent youth hostels in London.  This one has a friendly, fun atmosphere and is in a lively area close to Hyde Park, to Kensington Palace and Gardens, to Portobello Road, and to Paddington station from where it is just a 15 minute journey to Heathrow airport on the Heathrow Express. There are plenty of pubs, cafes, restaurants and cinemas in the area. It's also close to Astor's Hyde Park hostel where there is a late-opening bar and club and a travel agency.

Kings Arms Hotel

A cool bed and breakfast may sound like a bit of an anomaly but the owners of the Kings Arms try hard to achieve this. They have painted the entire traditional facade in a shade of dark green, which is highly noticeable even in the busy Edgware Road. The red walls and dark wooden floors that you will see as you brave the winding path up to the rooms are very trendy. The rooms have high ceilings and all the basic amenities. Call for reservations.

The Caesar Hotel London

The Caesar Hotel is a three-star hotel located in Central London, which attracts travellers with reasonable rates and useful amenities. The 140 rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable, surveillance cameras help maintain a safe environment, and the wi-fi keeps you connected to the rest of the world. The laundry and porter service, luggage storage, in-house restaurant, and disabled access are other appreciable facilities. This is really a good bargain, so reserve your room at the earliest, before the hotel is completely booked!
