Gardens are filled with fruit and palm trees that make for a seductive retreat. Much the same can be said of alluring porches. Many rooms have a porch or patio and those in the historic Maloney House and Garden Cottages offer a videocassette recorder, small refrigerator and coffeemaker. Cabana rooms near the pool are the least expensive.

If the name of this Keys b&b is to be believed, it's the prices that make it so. You can share a bathroom here at low rates or have your own bath at higher prices. A decidedly eclectic spot, Popular features the work of local artists and has an artistic flair of its own in wildly painted furnishings and lavish use of color. Music plays in tropical gardens, and a satisfying Continental breakfast is served. Four rooms do not have private bathrooms. Rates vary seasonally.
