Ocean Key Resort

This hotel offers both smaller standard rooms and larger deluxe rooms with balconies and water views. All deluxe accommodations also include Jacuzzis in either the master bedroom or in the living room. Dining services are provided at a casual dockside grill and at an indoor/outdoor café. This four-story resort located on Key West's natural beach offers comfortable rooms decorated in white-and-peach-colored tropical style. Resort amenities include a private beach, water sports, a heated pool surrounded by lush foliage, health spa, sauna, Jacuzzi, and a private fishing pier. Island City House Hotel

This hotel consists of three buildings, each with its own distinctive style. The Island City House features antique furniture, wooden floors, and rooms with queen-size beds-some rooms here also feature full-size kitchens. The Cigar House features white wicker furniture and king-size beds. A former carriage house, the Arch House is decorated with wicker and rattan furnishings, and all rooms include small kitchens. Guests can choose the accommodations they find the most comfortable.

Chelsea House

This non-smoking inn serves a mixed gay and straight clientèle. It offers comfortable rooms and apartments in a compound featuring a two-story Victorian Era house built in 1870 and several other buildings only two blocks from the downtown district. Apartments feature full kitchens, separate living rooms, and balconies. A Continental breakfast is offered each morning by the pool. Amenities include a pool, tropical garden, and a clothing-optional private deck for those who prefer to sunbathe in the nude.

South Beach Oceanfront Motel

Located right on the ocean and conveniently close to Duval Street and the historic district, this moderate sized, two-story motel offers comfortable standard rooms and rooms with kitchenettes, all with tropical style furnishings. Most rooms overlook the Olympic-size swimming pool, and some rooms feature beach front views. Motel amenities include an on-site dive shop, water sports equipment rentals and laundry facilities. Excellent restaurants and cafes are only a few short blocks away.

Southernmost Point Guest House

Registered as a National Historic Landmark, this Victorian Era home was built in 1885. Vintage Key West, this family-oriented guesthouse offers six comfortable rooms, each with its own distinctive décor. All rooms include refrigerators and complimentary sherry. The guesthouse also provides beach chairs and towels for use at the nearby beach. Amenities include Continental breakfast, a spacious hot tub amid a tropical garden for adults, and a swing set for children.

Key West International Hostel

This youth hostel is popular with European travelers and offers affordable accommodations with flair. Conveniently located near the beach, the hostel has plain but clean and well-maintained dormitory accommodations. There are also motel-type rooms available, some with full kitchens and are a little more expensive. Inexpensive meals can be obtained nearby. The hostel offers snorkeling, scuba diving instruction, and bicycle rental. There is also a courtyard, picnic area, pool table,and game room.

Key Lime Inn

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this 1854 structure is built in the style of Bahamian houses, with a cluster of cottages and cabana on the grounds. Gardens are filled with fruit and palm trees that make for a seductive retreat. Much the same can be said of alluring porches. Many rooms have a porch or patio and those in the historic Maloney House and Garden Cottages offer a videocassette recorder, small refrigerator and coffeemaker. Cabana rooms near the pool are the least expensive.

Popular House/Key West Bed & Breakfast

If the name of this Keys b&b is to be believed, it's the prices that make it so. You can share a bathroom here at low rates or have your own bath at higher prices. A decidedly eclectic spot, Popular features the work of local artists and has an artistic flair of its own in wildly painted furnishings and lavish use of color. Music plays in tropical gardens, and a satisfying Continental breakfast is served. Four rooms do not have private bathrooms. Rates vary seasonally.

Best Western Key Ambassador Inn

Spread out across seven acres just outside the most bustling section of Key West, this quiet hotel retreat has been around for many years and offers rooms decked out in bright and lively colors of the Caribbean. A pool overlooks the ocean and there's a picnic area with barbecue grills, plus an exercise course for fitness fans. A popular sunset event is to watch from your screened balcony as the sun sinks into the horizon. A complimentary Continental breakfast is served daily and the bar features some light fare.
