The Universidad del Sagrado Corazón (Sacred Heart University) displays an excellent representative selection of works by some of Puerto Rico's best in this small but prestigious museum. The establishment has everything from prints, sculpture and paintings. Its exhibitions change regularly, and admission is free. This is a great spot to stop during a walking visit to Santurce, once the island's main shopping and entertainment district. Free entrance.

Espacio 1414

The former premises of the Royal Tire Warehouse which now houses the Espacio 1414 gallery is a successful endeavor towards improving the Puerto Rican art scenario. You can muse over the artwork in its spacious interiors; the technological gadgets make sure that the masterpieces stay on for years to come. The artwork showcased here ranges from contemporary themes, depiction of personal, social, cultural lifestyle to other pervasive ideologies. The Berezdivins collection forms an important part of the Puerto Rican art milieu.

Desto

Desto is an art space founded and run by Raquel Quijano, Omar Obdulio and Jason Mena. The Puerto Rican word Desto is a slang expression which means 'this and that'. Both artists and art lovers will enjoy exploring this compact gallery which displays a plethora of art forms. The ambiance maybe casual but the work done here is taken very seriously. Experimentation, innovation and eclectic combination of themes is what one will find here. The shows are full of surprises and minute details. This place is a must-visit for those who have an eye for art.
