With its vast interior and immense dance floors Shocking Club a 70s-styled disco-bar right out of Saturday Night Fever gives budding John Travolta's ample space to strut their stuff. From lighting to furnishings, the club offers an oasis of seventies kitsch that proves popular with models, beaux in tow; especially during Milan fashion week.

Loolapaloosa

Are you in the mood to let loose without wanting to go to a disco? Do you want to forget that your fiancé that has left you? Do you want to meet someone at any cost? The place for you is Loolapaloosa, the bar that has introduced Milan to the mode of dancing on tables and bars and throwing yourself into dancing with unrestricted abandon. The atmosphere is decisively enthralling and, if you have the strength, you could dance until dawn in one of the few bars that go truly late into the night. A part of the merit goes to the staff and the bartenders who do not think twice to incite the rebellious characters here, or to often encourage the women to step onto the large wood tables to dance. The Irish-style pub, offers the best there is to drink and, as in all of Milan, one is lavished with drinks without even having to ask. The only drawback are the narrow spaces which are perhaps designed on purpose to allow people to be seen and to dance as close as possible.

Toqueville 13

Toqueville 13 happens to be one of the several crowded joints in the Corso Como area. It offers alternative solutions for a dinner or after dinner entertainment. You eat and drink upstairs to the music chosen on the ground floor. The décor is very classy with mirrors and electric neon lights. Evenings are theme based and have different DJ's. Frequented by some of Milan's most fashionable people, this is among the city's most classy and happening nightclubs. To get in, you have to be selected at the door.

Bassethound

The Bassethound is a typical Irish pub that offers a rich quantity of different kinds of beer. For the Milanese, used to loud and colourful bars, the bar is 'strange'. In fact, the Bassethound succeeds in re-creating perfectly, an ambience that is quite different from that of the Italian pubs: dark and smoky places more fitting for werewolves than for common folk. Nevertheless, the bar is very welcoming and the personnel succeed in making you feel completely at ease. In addition, the Bassethound has some hidden and winning weapons as well, that render the bar very well-frequented, even late-night. In fact, in the 'secrets' under the bar, one can listen to trendy live music and dance. A place to see some different faces.

Al Pa...Nino

This is decorated exactly as you would imagine a pub to be, with a long bar and wooden tables. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed, ideal for an after dinner drink, a good chat or even a pint of beer. It is particularly popular among young students, professionals, sporty types and actors. It also has a big wide screen TV to watch the most important championship games live as well as Formula One. It is open on all bank holidays and it can be hired out for New Year.

Cafè Letterario

Via Solferino with all its fashionable shops is very attractive! And so is this bar, furnished in a period style, and popular with artists and intellectuals. Various exhibitions and book presentations are organised here. Its speciality is the coffee, which is made in various different ways including, espresso, American style, and Turkish. The coffee should be accompanied by the excellent cakes served here. There is live music on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

ATM Bar

Initially a location of a bus station, ATM Bar today is one of the most loved gathering place. People usually end up here for the after-dinner meeting. Although tiny, this unusual American-style drinking is set on a traffic island in the middle of the street. Locals including the hip and artsy crowd lounge around for the well priced drinks served here. Perfect cocktail selections and great people to meet, will keep you coming back soon for more! In this fashion-conscious city, this unpretentious haunt is a very cozy and friendly place to hang out.

Armani Privé

Sneak out at night to join the fashion pack at Armani Privé: a hep and stylish nightclub. Its meticulously designed Japanese décor is elegant and luxurious. Sip on some wine as you take in the action. Aren't too tired? Then put your dancing shoes on and move to the rhythms churned out by famous DJs! You can rent the space inside for hosting your business meetings, cocktail parties and dinners among other events. The Armani Nobu restaurant upstairs caters to all your fine dining needs with its delectable Japanese fare. Check website for more details.

Le Trottoir

Take note of this bar as it has become a valuable address for late-night Milanese. The Trottoir is not only a bar but a real and true venue with a calendar always full of extraordinary events of every art form: from music to photography, to book presentations and poetry readings. The bar is always crowded and in the restricted space over two floors something is always happening. You could, however, if you have the courage, seat yourself at the piano and play your favourite music, read your poetry or praise your most loved authors in complete freedom or, for the less courageous, remain on your own to listen and watch the others. Once in a while there are true actors between the poetry and music since the actors of the theatre "Il Piccolo" or the "Strheler", which is located two steps away, allow themselves a tall glass at the Trottoir after their theatrical performances. The bar is perfect for any kind of meeting whether for an aperitif or a late-night drink. It is certainly worth trying to get to know and enjoy a certain literary reality outside the norm since the Milanese reality does not always offer such space in which one can express oneself with such freedom.

Indian Cafè

This club has three floors and offers music, dancing and drinks. They have live music and offer the chance to play on the stage with your group after an audition. The favoured music here is 60's, 70's, 80's, rap, rock and reggae. Every Sunday afternoon from 2.30p to 6p they play hip hop. Birthday and graduation parties are also organised.

Heaven

Previously called Rimessa Fiori, today the name has changed but not the formula. So there is a large space with a balcony looking onto the dance floor, two bars and upstairs toilet area. Entertainment is the key throughout the week, beginning with "one night" every Friday put on by the organisers of Tutti Frutti. There are also concerts by emerging groups, and disco nights.

Cave Montmartre

The name of this bar/restaurant and its style are evocative of a French bistrot. Cave Montmartre is spread over two floors, and has tables outside during the summer. Its restaurant and piano bar - open from October to the beginning of the summer - are very popular with a VIP clientele from the world of cinema and show business. Its specialities include Country Cake and Jam Tarts.
