Den

True to its name, this ever-popular venue is decked out like an opium den of old China. By night, the upstairs disco has plenty of 1980s music that keeps people dancing well into the early hours. The downstairs area provides a respite from the chaos upstairs, and is a cozy restaurant and bar by day. A fairly standard array of popular European and Asian dishes, such as the tuna salad or mixed grill fill out the menu, while the brunch specials are a big hit with the expatriate community.

On Off Restaurant and Bar

This is a stylish bar and restaurant with free Internet facilities for customers. A bar and stage face each across the spacious interior, and more secluded rooms lie behind a glass partition. Black painted metal radiators snake across the deep Mediterranean-orange walls, and large wood-framed glass doors give access to a series of balconies. Food includes sandwiches, salads and a smattering of continental and American cuisine, such as the ‘On Off Sandwich', homemade Duck Liver Terrine and Pan-fried Chicken Breast. There are also a few token Asian offerings and an extensive drink list.

Jazz Bar

Located on the bar stretch on San Li Tun street, Jazz Bar is popular amongst Beijing jazz lovers. The musicians playing the saxophone are not seen as bourgeois anymore. Beijing is no alien to the jazz culture but only recently the popularity has increased with new jazz bars coming up throughout the city. The Jazz Bar is small but promising venue in Beijing's buzzing jazz scene.

Yun Meng Bar

Beijing's very popular CD Cafe made has way for the new Yun Meng Bar. The place is still partially owned by the same people and you will find that not much has changed about it. Though new pieces of furniture and Chinese artworks have been added to give it a chic look. The decor is set in deep tones and the seating area is dimly lit. The music clubs now invites various bands to perform on the stage and entertain the crowd.

Jam House Bar

Lounging at a bar while sipping on a cocktail. This would be the ideal thing to do after a hectic day at work. And teh nights could be better than swaying to the live Jazz music sessions at the Jam House bar. Situated on a remote lane, this place provides the perfect setting to socialize with friends or idle away. With comfortable couches and up-beat music, this place is a perfect hideout on any day!

The Loft

If you are looking out for a cool place to hangout, drop in at the Loft restaurant. The decor and the ambiance of the spacious bar spell elegance to the hilt. It caters to the hip and happening crowd of Beijing. Watch the chef dole out sumptuous delicacies in the open kitchen. In the evening, it plays light music, as the night proceeds rock music takes over. Let go off all the worries and enjoy the evening with a glass of cocktail.

Mix Club

If you are a hip-hop fan or a dance lover, check Mix Club. You will be impressed with the trendy decor and layout designed to have the best lighting and sound possible. Lucky patrons will be able to catch the occasional visiting world-famous DJs that spin at Mix. Among those who frequent the club are American and French expatriates, South Africans and of course, locals. Even the food in the club is a jumble of international influences - Italian, French, and Chinese which will make your taste buds dance as joyfully as the rest of you. You will not be able to help falling in love with this club.

Alfa

Known for its theme parties, especially 80s nights, this cool club has won awards for 'Best event/Party' in Beijing. A patio also exists for those who would like to take it easy after a night of dancing. If you're hungry you needn't go farther than the restaurant upstairs. Everything you need is right here.

Area

For a sleek, contemporary, artistic atmosphere this is the place to go. When it first opened in 2006 it was awarded 'Best New Bar', and is known for its excellent weekend music sets featuring international DJs. Sit on one of their beautiful white sofa beds that surround the central dance floor, you will feel chic as can be, as you tune into the sounds of the world. The bar opens everyday at 8p.

Kiss

Geared toward the upper class Beijing business crowd, this posh bar is a perfect kick back spot. With plush red velvet couches, and a spiral staircase leading up to a terrace, it surly is a place of elegance.

Kai Club

For eclectic music sets and a young crowd this is the place to go. Here you can listen to indie rock, house, old school, break beats, and more. For a more relaxed feel check out the lounge upstairs, but if you're feeling the need to dance dance dance than hit the floor.

Rock n' Roll

One of the three biggest best disco's in the city, Rock and Roll is a place to enjoy the night life of Beijing. The disco plays techno and house combination , nothing to do with rock and roll. You will always find the dance floor crowded and also people singing their heart's out at Karaoke Bar in the disco. The atmosphere is very exciting with colorful laser lights and loud music being played by the DJ's. If you want to just enjoy listening to the music, there is a very cozy and comfortable lounge where you can relax and sip a drink or two. A must visit plays for all the party animals.
