Saint-Epvre basilica

This is the ideally place where you could enjoy a peaceful and quiet moment. The Basilica is wonderful decorated with stained glass. It was richly endowed by Napoleon III, Emperor Franz-Joseph, Ludwig II of Bavaria and Pope Pius who donated the beautiful stone paving in the choir that came from the Appian Way.

The Craffe Gate

This is an unbelievable piece of Middle Age. The oldest part of Nancy’s fortifications, it was built in the 14thC and was subsequently used as a prison for many years. In the 17thC, another gate, called the Notre-Dame Gate, was built to further protect this entrance to the city. The two gates were separated by moats at the time.

The Ecole de Nancy Museum

This Museum is a pleasure for the Art Nouveau fans, who are loving the glass fine arts of Emile Gallé or the smooth furniture curves of Louis Majorelle, for example. It stands in a park that was restored in 1999, with the aim of recreating its original atmosphere using plants that were popular at the end of the 19thC.

Dominique Alexandre Godron Garden

Nancy is renown for its tradition in raising flowering plants. Created by Stanislas in 1758, Dominique Alexandre Godron Garden was Nancy’s first botanical garden. It remained a botanical garden until 1993 when the collections of plants were transferred to a much larger area, the Montet Botanical Gardens on the outskirts of Greater Nancy.

Lorraine culinary delicacies

If you ever pass through Nancy, don't miss some of the tasty traditional specialties, like quiche lorraine, lorraine pâté, bergamot, madeleine or the famous mirabelle's cake! There are a lot of nice bistros, restaurants and confectioners offering the local dishes.

Place Stanislas

You walking on the gray streets of Nancy and suddenly the sunlight is surrounding you from all sides. You're just arrived in the most beautiful square of the world, with white historical buildings, white pavement and gilded wrought iron gates and lanterns. In the middle you find the statue of Stanislas Leszczynski who gave the name of the ensemble. This amazing UNESCO monument is a really piece of history and shouldn't be rated by any tourist!
