Robberg Beach

Robberg Beach is situated between the Beacon Isle Hotel in Plettenberg Bay and The Robberg Nature reserve. This pristine beach sees thousands of sun worshipers every year who come to suck up the African sun and leave with either a sexy tan or a terrible sunburn. The beaches are relatively safe for tourists although in recent times muggings have been reported and bathing alone is never a good idea. From June to November, Southern Right Whales can be seen from the beach, and Humpback Whales migrate through the region from May to December. Some species like Dolphins can be seen all year round.

Hobie Beach

Situated between the car park of Ocean safaris and the lookout deck, Hobie Beach is the place to go if you need to launch your Hobie cat. This is one of the popular Plettenberg Bay beaches in December and if you want to experience the thrill of sailing in the bay and don't have your own hobie, hang around on this beach, befriend a local and you will soon be enjoying this awesome adventure.

Central Beach

Central beach is by far the most popular beach in Plettenberg Bay. Every year hundreds of thousands of people flock to Central beach to swim and sunbath, the busiest time of year being December. Although the waters are relatively safe it is always good to keep an eye on your children as drownings have been recorded, in the area after parents neglected to watch their children, some huge Great white sharks have also been spotted in these waters and usually a flag is raised to warn bathers when not to swim. During the peak holiday seasons life guards are on duty. Central beach is situated between the Beacon Isle hotel and Hobby beach.

Keurbooms Strand Beach

Keurbooms Strand (Beach) located within 5km of Plettenberg Bay is a great beach. The kilometers of beach make for great walks along the coast. Parking is a problem in the area, due to huge development and Narrow street, so car pooling, walking or using bicycles are a good idea. The fishing is also very good anywhere along this coast so be sure to pack your gear if you are an avid fisherman.
