Windhoek

Windhoek is the largest city in Namibia, it is also the capital city of the country. The area is very dry and this places gets HOT in summer. Another thing I found interesting is the amazing amount of static in Windhoek, every time you change your clothing you just hear the crackling sound of sparks caused by static. At night it's even better as you can see the mini thunderstorm when changing your clothes. It's rather freaky, but cool. Windhoek has some great tourist attractions and I will go into detail on these in future guides of Namibia.

Swakopmund

Swakopmund is a coastal city of Namibia. The town has amazing architecture and some of the widest roads I have ever seen in a town. Very few of the roads in the town are tar. This is an amazing place to visit and makes for a great photographic trip. Swakopmund is a must see when visiting Namibia.

Walvis Bay

Walvis Bay, is another one of the coastal cities of Namibia. On of the most popular attractions for tourists in the area is Dune 7, this is one of the largest sand dunes in the world and a trip to walvis Bay is incomplete without climbing to the very top of this dune. Walvis has a natural Deep water harbour and is a popular port.

Keetmanshoop

Keetmanshoop is a town in Namibia. The area is very dry with not much water but has some amazing scenery, the town is also famous for the beautiful quiver tree forests in the area. Namibia is a great country for road tripping and if you happen to be in the area, you can't miss Keetmanshoop. In this desert country side, even the smallest towns are a welcomed sight.

Rehoboth

Rehoboth is another of the more popular towns in Namibia, not so much because it is a great town, but because there are more people living there. The town also has a good water source. Many of the locals of Rehoboth are known as Rehoboth Basters, the word Baster literally means 'Bastard or crossbread' the Rehoboth Basters however are very proud of their history and are not shy to tell you they are Basters. This is another historical town and a great visit when in Namibia.

Henties Bay

Henties Bay, is a very small coastal village in Namibia. The town is located in a desert as can be seen from my picture attached. Henties is known for its excellent fishing. There are quiet a few good accommodation venue's in Henties and the cute little pubs and restaurants serve good fish and chips. Henties Bay had no tar roads until very recently. On my last trip to Henties in August 2008 they had just started tarring the main road of Henties.
