Nature's Valley Rest Camp

The Natures Valley Restcamp, which is part of the greater Tsitsikamma National Park, is a small camping site located on the banks of the lagoon in Natures Valley. This is a prime camping spot, far from the noise and pollution of the city. From the camp visitors can take forest walks, go rowing or swimming in the lagoon and meander down to the Natures Valley beach. This is a must do weekend getaway for the camping enthusiast. .

Storms River Mouth Restcamp

The world famous Tsitsikamma National Park located along the Garden Route in South Africa, makes for one of the most beautiful camping spots in South Africa. Camping sites are located near to the waters edge and the first thing you see when getting up in the morning is an undisturbed view of the Indian Ocean and behind you the mountain. There are a few game species that can be seen in the camp, including Dassie, Bushbuck and the famous Cape Clawless Otters. A must do when visiting the Garden Route.

Die Eiland Resort (Upington)

Die Eiland Resort in Upington is probably the best known camping site in Upington and is popular with campers road tripping to Namibia. At night the camping sites gets icy cold so be sure to take enough warm clothing and bedding. As with most camping sites in South Africa, don't leave valuables lying around. This camping site is rather old.

Camping in Pilansberg Nature Reserve

The Pilansberg National Park in South Africa offers great camping facilities. This is a great place to go to escape the noise and pollution of Gauteng. The park offers everything to make for a great weekend camping getaway.

Kruger National Park Camping

The Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga South Africa, offers some of the greatest wildlife camping in South Africa. Kruger has hundreds of great camping sites and I have written a few other guides about Kruger. For a list of top smaller camping sites in Kruger see this link: http://www.ruba.com/guide/simonb/smaller_and_less_well_known_restcamps_of_the_kruger_national_parks or visit this link for all the larger camps of Kruger: http://www.ruba.com/guide/simonb/popular_restcamps_in_the_kruger_national_park

Camping at the Willows Resort

The Willows Holiday resort in Port Elizabeth South Africa is a great coastal camping experience. This is not the place to go if 5 star luxury is what you have come to expect. This resort offers affordable camping for the everyday man on the street and the view from the camping sites is amazing. I would go to this place during peak holiday season but out of season it makes for a perfect place to unwind and relax.

Cape Vidal

Cape Vidal located i the forests of Kwa-Zulu Natal, is one of the nicest ocean front camping spots in South Africa. It is very similar in style to Natures Valley. Camping is under huge indigenous forests and is rather cool, but very very beautiful. A short walk takes you to the great beach front with miles of untouched golden beaches. Beware of Monkeys and baboons in this camp as they will most definitely raid your tents.
