Molly Malone's

Molly Malone's is designed as a traditional Irish pub on two floors. The ground floor bar is quieter than the first floor, as the latter features a live band every night. Molly Malone's has been voted to be amongst the top 50 Irish pubs in Europe (outside Ireland!). The atmosphere is lively, jolly and Irish. The minimum age for admission is 20 on weekends.

Wayne's Coffee

This is an American-style café with a modern interior, which serves lunch and snacks. It is located in a very busy area. Despite this, the atmosphere is quite relaxed. All the products are fresh and only the best ingredients are used. A number of coffees, pastries, muffins and biscuits are produced in their own bakery, to be eaten in or taken away. On the menu there are also different kinds of toasted sandwiches, bagels and refreshments. The café has lots of newspapers and sometimes there are live jazz performances too. It is also possible to arrange meetings, seminars and other private occasions in the café.

Exotic

This small, cosy café in the Caisa cultural centre is located near the University of Helsinki and the big Kaisaniemi park. They serve various kinds of food and drinks in an exceptionally international atmosphere. Enjoy the various teas and all kinds of strange beers available here. Owned by an international cultural organization, they celebrate events such as the national days of different countries, and serve some national delicacies on those days. Saunabar

What could really be more Finnish than to couple a sauna with a bar? The spacious sauna is clean and comfortable and has separate facilities for men and women. Each changing room has a large fish tank and a mini-bar, and on the women's side there is also a cosmetics corner, including a hairdryer. The sauna has to be booked beforehand, except on Sundays and Mondays. You can enjoy toasted sandwiches, other snacks and of course beers, apart from playin pool or surfing net. There is a DJ five nights a week, usually playing funk, soul, electro or other relatively gentle music. Occasionally there is also live music.

Parnell's Irish Bar

If you're into live Irish music, then Parnell's is the place for you. Come on Saturdays and enjoy the live music performances. The drinks are varied and the atmosphere is jovial in true Irish tradition.

Bar Heinähattu

Bar Heinähattu is an interesting combination of a shady local joint, nostalgic vintage bar and a rock bar. The walls are covered with yellowish clips of yesterday's news and Finnish artists' records of the same category. Beer is of good value and the selection adequate. A large jukebox takes care of the music. You will hear plenty of rock and heavy metal, since the regulars are mostly into that. Bar Heinähattu, or Heinis as it is known among its loyal customers, is a great place to sit after work and down a few drinks. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
