Plettenberg Bay

Plettenberg Bay is one of the most popular tourist destinations along the Garden Route. The long golden beaches offer hours of fun in the sun, and the great activities in the area, make Plett one of the best places to spend the summer holiday.

Knysna

Knysna is another one of the most popular towns in the Garden Route. The Knysna lagoon is a great place for kitesurfing, boating and fishing. Knysna considered by some to be the best town in South Africa, although I personally thing Plett is better, but then again I live in Plett so maybe I am biased.

Wilderness

The Wilderness is a great Garden Route town, the best thing of Wilderness is the amazing sea breeze that covers the town most of the day. Every time I pass through wilderness I cannot help but slow down, open my window and just suck in the lovely sea breeze. There is no other town on the Garden route with this unique smell. Wilderness has great beaches and perfect paragliding spots.

George

George is one of the largest towns on the Garden Route. I would call it the hub and it has the only proper airport in the area offering daily flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and others. George also has the largest Mall in the area and this is one of the best places to go for shopping. The town is not situated on the coast, but within 10min drive you can access Victoria Bay, one of the nicest beaches in the area. The mountain pass between George and Wilderness is also one the the most beautiful and well maintained passes in the ares.

Sedgefield

Driving along the N2 between Wilderness and Knysna you can hardly miss the small village of Sedgefield. The highway passes through the heart of this quaint little town and from the road it actually looks quite dull. However the true beauty of Sedgefield is hidden behind the hills in the area. Turning from the highway follow the small back streets and you will soon discover some of the most amazing beach front in South Africa. The area is also famous for the Swartvlei and Groenvlei Lakes.

Tsitsikamma Village

The Storms River Village also called (Storms Rivier in Afrikaans) is a very small village in the Tsitsikamma area. The village is very popular for its Black water tubung and treetop adventure tours. It is centrally situated to the famous Storms River Mouth, Big tree and Tsitsikamma National Park. This is a great place to spend a day or two while in the area and especially if you just want to relax and unwind in one of the most beautiful villages in South Africa..
