This hotel is situated outside the city center, but is convenient for the famous Petofi Institute. Unusually, the hotel is shaped like a cylinder. Its' unique shape makes it a clearly visible landmark from any elevated point in the city. It is best to get a room on the upper floors from where you'll get a good view. The rooms are all quite spacious even if they are shaped like slices of cake.

Hotel Griff Junior

This one-star hotel is located in the same building as its big sister: the three-star Hotel Griff. They are both part of the Eravis hotel chain which converted workers' hostels into hotels throughout the city. These hotels are comfortable and conveniently located on public transit lines-they offer real affordability in different categories.

Art'otel

Art hotels' are all the rage in Europe, each dedicated to the art and design of a single artist, and in the case of Budapest it's the work of American artist Donald Sultan. The hotel's location is excellent: in the city's heart, on the Buda side of the river. Everything from the carpets to the wall designs, actual paintings and more are by Mr. Sultan. The result is an interesting and comfortable marriage of hotel and museum, but a museum where even the walls and floors are artistic creations.

Unikum Panzio

This panzio has a great location. It is on the Buda side at the foot of famous Sas hegy (Sas Hill). The hill, which is a city landmark, is 266 meters high and home to small lizards. The panzio is small and family-run guest house. Travelers looking for peace and quiet head here.

Summer Hotel Hill

This large hotel offers simple and comfortable rooms at a good price. The location is also quite good, and is near Gellert hill. There are 170 rooms and even a swimming pool. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel are some interesting old streets, and walking all the way to the top of Gellert Hill from here is a very rewarding experience. If you really want to have some wonderful panoramas, then resist the temptation to take the bus to the top. The walk is infinitely more rewarding, and only takes about fifteen minutes.

Benczur Hotel

This hotel is situated along the quiet street known as 'Embassy Row' near Heroes' Square (Hősök tere) and City Park (Városliget). It shares a building and reception desk with Hotel Pedagogous, which is around 10% cheaper. The location is a good one, as it is on a subway and bus line. Many major sights are within a five-minute walk, including two museums, a large park, the zoo, and some great restaurants and cafés. The surrounding area is made up of beautiful decaying mansions, some of which have undergone renovation as well as others which apparently have not been touched in several years.

Liget Hotel

This hotel has a very convenient location. It is within a five-minute walk of two of the city's most well known museums and is right next to the zoo and a huge park (that has hot baths and a castle) as well as the amusement park. Furthermore, many fine restaurants and cafés are also at hand. The hotel is also on the yellow subway line and has numerous bus connections to the centre. Not all rooms are air-conditioned, so in the summer months be sure to check, as otherwise sleeping can get a little uncomfortable.

Medosz Hotel

This hotel is both inexpensive and centrally located. As it is situated just off Andrassy ut, there are plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, with good nightlife and easy public transport connections. The rooms are simple, but clean and pleasant. This hotel is located in the peaceful, tree filled area near Heroes' Square where most of the consulates are situated. The apartments are spacious and come fitted with kitchens.
