Palmeraie Golf Palace & Resort

This luxury hotel-resort is located in the palm grove, outside the city, which won't be a problem for those who main interest to enjoy leisure activities in the enviable Moroccan sun. And even those who enjoy daytime leisure but still crave nighttime socializing won't be disappointed by the resort's many restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Among the activities you can enjoy at the resort are: Golf de la Palmeraie (reduced green fee for hotel guests), swimming pools, tennis courts, equine activities, bowling lanes, and mini-golf courses. The spacious and well-decorated guest rooms all overlook either the garden or the golf course.

Hivernage Hotel & Spa

Noise in the rooms depends on the floor and the welcome isn't always up to the displayed 5-star ambition. However this hotel has a good location in the quiet Hivernage suburb, between the Medina and the Gueliz areas. It's a 10-minute walk from Jemaâ El Fna square, where you'll find the lovely restaurant La Table Du Marché. The terrace of the hotel offers a great panoramic view. The hotel is member of Great Hotels of the World.

Café Arabe

The Riad Café Arabe has been redesigned by Italian architects, thus protecting its Arabo-Andalusian style, while adding contemporary elements. The softly-lit restaurant serves solid Italian and Moroccan cuisine along with a wide selection of wines. Every Sunday, brunch is served from 12:30p. The terrace overlooks the roofs of the Medina, and it's the ideal setting to sip a mint tea, an Italian coffee or a cocktail. If you fall under the spell of the place, note that two beautiful double rooms and a mini-suite are also available.

Riad Nejma Lounge

Its fused pop, Zen and Oriental design scheme makes the Riad Nejma Lounge totally irresistible. Black and white pavement, shocking-pink drapes, a red carpet and banana trees on the patio, and warm harmonious colors and dark wood in the Parme room are the kind of crazy design concoction that owners Alex and Pierre didn't shy away from in their wonderfully modern space.

Riad Magellan

Each of the six rooms of this Riad tastefully decorated by Stéphanie and Philippe embrace a different hue. The terraces and the patio are especially welcoming. This stylish Riad is located in the Souk Des Antiquaires, walking distance from the Jemaâ El Fna Square.

Jnane Mogador

This welcoming riad, near the Jemaâ El Fna Square, offers very reasonable prices given its location and amenities. The rooms are unspectacular, but congenial and well-kept. The suite is more original and features a four-poster bed, a living room and a private terrace. You will appreciate the common Moroccan living room with its pretty fireplace, the patio with its star-shaped fountain, and the main terrace of the hotel. The hammam offers a great range of massages at differing prices.

Hôtel Essaouira

The Essaouira Hotel, run by the owner of the riad Jnane Mogador, is a really good deal for a low budget. It occupies a former mansion in the Medina, and possesses a lovely indoor patio. The little rooms are without flourishes but they are very clean. You may also choose to sleep on the terrace; you will not be disturbed by noise, as the hotel is located on a rather tranquil street, despite its proximity to Jemaâ El Fna Square.

Riad Zouigna

Riad Zouigna is a first-class guesthouse located between the Palais El Badi and the Palais de la Bahia, near the Riad Zitoun quarter. Dark wooden doors and ceilings, elegant white drapes and oriental lamps define the classical luxury that runs from the patio to the terrace, upon which the swimming pool is perched. The restaurant within is excellent.

Riad Malika

The owner of this beautiful guesthouse in the lively neighborhood of Bab Doukkala (near the mosque of the same name) is a French artist who has lived here for a long time and has personally decorated every inch of the guesthouse. The former mansion, with its beautiful Moroccan woodwork and carpets, has been revamped in a modernist and art-deco style. The riad also offers a verdant patio and a pretty swimming pool with blue-and-black geometric-patterned tiles.

Dar Doukkala

This beautiful guesthouse was decorated by the owner of the Riad Malika. Located in the lively and animated neighborhood of Bab Doukkala (near Dar El Bacha), it offers calm and comforting patios, panoramic terraces and unique living rooms. Each bedroom presents a different charm and has a wonderful Marrakech-style bathroom (with zelliges and tadelakt).
