The Weston Gallery

If you like photography, this is the gallery for you. Here you can view, as well as purchase, the works of local and international photographic artists. Most of the works of art are done in black and white, however a few are in color. The gallery has a large collection of Ansel Adams famous photographs of Yosemite National Park. In addition, the gallery shows the works of Julia Margaret Cameron, Frederick Evans, Yousuf Karsh, Edward Weston, Mark Citret and Jeffery Becom, to name just a few.

Gallery Sur

At this gallery, you can find photographic art of the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. The gallery exhibits the breathtaking photography of Helmut Horn. Particularly inspiring and breathtaking is Horns' Rising Storm and Last Light. Gary Geigers' Yellow Pots photographic art is intriguing. Another equally impressive work is The Eighth Hole at Pebble Beach by Joan Dost. The photographic art displayed in this gallery is exquisite and not to missed on your visit to Carmel.

Nancy Dodds Gallery

Cross the threshold of this renowned gallery and you will find a vast array of paintings and limited edition prints by such artists as Randall Sexton, Jane Mason Burke, Stephen McMillan, Gail Packer, Leslie Toms, Carolyn Lord, Teresa Onada, Chirs Newhard, Kipp Stewart, and much, much more. Step through the French doors and browse for a while, or chat with the friendly staff who will be glad to answer any questions. It is truly an outstanding collection.

Jones & Terwilliger Galleries

This exquisite gallery is one of the premier ones in Carmel and it features an outstanding collection of fine art from artists around the globe. The proprietors bring you nearly 30 years of combined fine art experience, and they can help you with any possible aspect of fine art and/or collecting. The setting of the gallery itself is an intimate one with subdued lighting. Artists represented include Guido Borelli, Jack Braman, Guan Ze Ju, Maurice Harvey and Ernest Baber.

Mark Reuben Gallery

Whether it be sports, history, or landscape pictures, this gallery has something for everyone, including hundreds of collectibles. More than 3,000 photographs comprise the inventory, which was put together from various auctions and archives from around the world. Everything to showcase art is here, and a variety of frames are available for whatever photo you decide to buy. The staff members are top-notch experts in their fields, and this is a truly unequaled gallery experience.

Linde Martin's Gallery

Linde B. Martin's unique style of painting is done with oils on linen, and this is her gallery. It showcases her award-winning abstract works that have been displayed around the globe. Originally from Germany, she now resides in Santa Cruz and her gallery also features other artists' works, most of which are glass, ceramics and sculpture. This gallery is a neat place to see some inspiring, ethereal and lyrical abstractions from this modern fine artist.

Exotic Fine Art

If you are looking for a limited edition painting by Red Skelton, this is the gallery for you. In addition to the Red Skelton collection, the gallery offers limited editions and original works of a variety of international artist: Gaylord Soli, Andre Renoux and Caroline Young, to name a few. In addition, the gallery has an extensive collection of handcrafted Asian sculptures; for example, carved wood cranes.

Vanguard Gallery

For fans of classic American pin-up art from the 1940s and 1950s, this Mecca of American nostalgia will be a dream come true. The proprietor is world-renowned for replicating the American iconographic artist Gil Elvgren's pin-ups. It is true nostalgia at its finest. Several other pin-up artists' works are available here, as well. Special pin-up portfolios are constantly selling out. This shop is highly recommended for anyone even slightly interested in American nostalgia.

Sunset Cultural Center

Everything from photographic exhibits to Bach performances takes place at this arts complex in downtown Carmel. It is one of the largest venues in the town, and it hosts countless events large and small throughout the year (not the least of which is an annual series of concerts by the Monterey County Symphony). The on-site Center for Photographic Art has ongoing exhibitions, while the lecture hall attracts speakers from around the world. Annual events include the Carmel Performing Arts Festival and the renowned Carmel Bach Festival. See website for more info.

Carl Cherry Center for the Arts

Art exhibits are held year-round in the gallery portion of this venue, while small onstage productions take place in adjacent Cherry Hall. (The word "hall" is a bit of a misnomer as the theater seats only 50 people.) This is quite the community venue. It has been established for more than 50 years. Its small size and central location make it ideal for experimental and children's theater groups. The gallery shows a broad spectrum of styles and media, often featuring local artists and crafters.
