Bioparco

This used to be a zoo, but has now become the Bioparco. With only a few cages, the goal is to create an environment that is as close as possible to the animals' natural habitat. Here children can learn about where and how animals really live.

Golf Club Parco dei Medici

It is one of the few golf clubs that offers non-members a temporary monthly membership for the price of approximately 160 EUR. Temporary membership also includes four golf lessons. The 18-hole course is a good 6318 meters long and is located near the road that connects Rome to its main airport.All golf instructors are qualified, friendly and experienced. They will also advise you on the most appropriate golf outfit to wear.

S.G. Roma

This tennis club is located in the heart of Rome, next to the famous park of Villa Borghese. It has four clay courts, one regular court, and a fitness center. Gymnastics, steps and aerobics lessons are also offered here.

Villa Ada

The villa is named after the wife of the Swiss Count Tellfner who, as well as King Vittorio Emmanuele II, was one of its many owners. The park is very large with ample grounds in which to run and also to relax. There are cycle paths and skate tracks. Sports lovers come here to train. You can compete or help out in competitions between radio-controlled model boats down at the lake. There are many entrances to the park on Via Salaria; one of these is next to the catacombs of Saint Priscilla. 

Parco Rosati

An extensive amusement park for children of all ages in the Tourism Park at EUR, with slides, swings, climbing frames, a skating rink, a small circuit for electric cars, games and a large maze. organized events are occasionally provided. Admission: Free.

Nemi: Museo delle Navi Romane e Sagra delle Fragole

Lake Nemi is surrounded by a thick wood. The ancient Romans called it Diana's Mirror and there is a sanctuary on its banks dedicated to the goddess of hunting. It is said that the Emperor Caligula had two ships built, lavishly decorated with bronze statues, mosaic floors and marble columns, intended as a gift to the goddess. The ships were discovered in the 1930s and recovered soon afterwards, only to be destroyed in a fire during the war. The museum exhibits models of the ships and various salvaged objects, such as the anchors, amphors and artefacts from Diana's Temple. Great quantities of wild strawberries can be picked from May to June in the woods between the museum and Nemi and there's a Strawberry Festival on the first Sunday in June when the fruit is distributed free of charge.

Ippodromo di Tor di Valle

There are riding lessons for children from five to 13 years of age here, as well as shows and entertainment. Young children can also get involved in gymnastics and aerobics, and there's an interesting exhibition on the history of equestrian sports.

Aquafelix

This new aquatic park covers 8000 square meters of mostly traditional parkland. You can ride the hugely popular slides on your own, in pairs or in a rubber dinghy. In the swimming pool you can battle the wave machine, relax in the Jacuzzi, languish in the lagoon for adults and children, or play on the slides, waterfalls and small water-spouts. A large car-park, restaurant, bar and shops take care of everything else.

Hydromania

An aquatic park covering 80,000 square meters, Hydromania has the fastest water-slides in Italy. It also has an enormous swimming pool with a wave machine, a 25 meter Olympic-sized swimming pool, a six-lane water slide, a mushroom-shaped water spout and swimming pools with slides and games for children. There is also a bar and restaurant to beat the hunger-pangs.

Museo Gregoriano Egizio dei Musei Vaticani (Gregorian Egyptian Museum)

This part of the Vatican Museums is totally devoted to Egypt. The real examples of sarcophagi, burial items, mummies and statues are perfect for captivating the imagination of every child. The Museum also provides a nice little guided tour for smaller children called Alice nei Musei delle Meraviglie (Alice in Museum Wonderland).
