Barrio Santa Cruz

The narrow streets of Barrio Santa Cruz (the medieval Jewish quarter) are home to the romantic narrow roads that many remember about Seville. Wandering this section of the city will bring visitors past many tempting restaurants and locals enjoying a drink in the sun.

Seville Cathedral (Catedral de Sevilla)

The cathedral of Seville was built to demonstrate the wealth of this Andalucian city. The fourth largest Christian church in the world, this soaring Gothic cathedral is a major attraction at the center of the city, in close walking distance to many tapas bars and cafés.

plaza toros sevilla, la maestranza

The tragic finale of the opera Carmen takes place in the Maestranza Bullring in Seville. Considered one of top bullrings in Spain, a guided tour reveals the impressive interior.

Flamenco

Avoid the heavily advertised and expensive versions of flamenco performances, but do try and listen for local buzz on late night performances. La Macarena is a serious flamenco theater, and many bars in town also hold performances for 10 euros at the door.

La Giralda

One of the last buildings to display the historical Moorish influence on the city, the Giralda tower offers a bell chamber with a remarkable view over all of Seville. Visitors can enter the Giralda on the same ticket purchased for the Cathedral.

Plaza de España

The Plaza de Espana is a well-recognized landmark in Seville. Today mainly consisting of government buildings, the huge half-circle retains its beauty. A large fountain dominates the center of the square, and features many tiled alcoves on the perimeter.
