Cannes

Luxury hotels, delicious restaurants, crazy beach parties - it's like Cannes was made for Paris Hilton! Get the experience of a beach vacation in a lively atmosphere by visiting Cannes. Be sure to check out these top picks while you're in town!

Plage Calao Club

Get set to have a blast at Calao beach, primely located between the Carlton and Martinez hotels on La Croisette. Take advantage of a variety of seasonal menus for evening receptions along with specially organized musical performances. Arrangements can also be made for themed nights or banquets in the florally decorated reception rooms. Deck chairs, locker rooms, warm showers, private sun decks, video games, table football, billiards, table tennis, pedal-boat rental, water-skiing, and massages are also offered. Season tickets and group discounts are available. The beach is closed from November to December.

Ile Ste-Marguerite

The largest of the three Lérin islands, is a fifteen-minute boat ride from Cannes. In ancient times it was called Léro. Numerous boat companies make the crossing from the old port. Also inhabiting this island is a seventeenth-century fort, which houses the Maritime Museum. This fort was once a prison, and was the home to the unidentified character, called the man in the iron mask. Admission is free.

La Palme d'or

Chef Christian Willer's elaborate creations are prepared using the finest local produce, served on specially designed 1930s-style tableware, and accompanied by a wine list par excellence. You can enjoy gourmet cuisine with a distinctly Provençal flavor in equally attractive surroundings; a bright, sunny dining room with windows on three sides, plus the added bonus of a fantastic sea view. Situated on the first floor of the Martinez luxury hotel, the restaurant gets its name from the Palme d'Or, awarded each year to the Best Film during the Cannes Film Festival.

Brasserie Carlton

The lavish decor of this restaurant matches that of the elegant hotel it belongs to. The staff is attentive and discreet, the tables elegantly decked, and the china exquisite, all-in-all the perfect venue for a romantic dinner for two. Covered in winter, the terrace gives diners a fantastic view of the La Croisette seafront. The menu changes twice a year, offering rustic cuisine that gives diners the opportunity to sample both regional and national dishes such as Foie Gras and Fillet of Sea Bass. It is quite popular with celebrities during the Cannes Film Festival.
