Redang Island

Redang Island is well-known in Malaysia for its beautiful island and beaches and becoming one of the popular tourist destination. It is located about 45 kilometers from the nearest town Kuala Terengganu. Top activities in Redang Island (please note that locally this island sometimes known as Pulau Redang) are scuba diving as well as snorkeling.

There are few ways to reach this island. You can reach Redang by boat from the nearest jetty at Merang. If you consider to use ferry, there is a service provided from Shahbandar Jetty between March till October. Shahbandar Jetty is located at Kuala Terengganu town. Also you can reach Redang by flight (yes, there is an airport here!)

Kapas Island

Kapas Island is another beautiful island located at Terengganu. It is one of the island that has been turned into a tourist destination back in late 1970's. Kapas Island is perfect for those who love water activities such as snorkeling and scuba diving.

Other than water activities, there's also some adventure on-land activities such as jungle trekking. The untouched jungle here will be a perfect for this type of activity. Kayak as well as windsurfing also some of the popular activities here.

You can reach Kapas Island by boat from Marang Jetty. Also you can reach from nearest island around, such as Redang or Perhentian Island.

Perhentian Islands

Perhentian Islands actually consist of two different islands, that are Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil. The islands are located 25 kilometers from Kuala Besut, not far away from Kuala Terengganu town. If you are planning to run away from noisy and busy town life, so Perhentian is a right choice for you.

Scuba diving is a top activities here. Have a diving here and you'll be impressed by the natural marine life found underwater here - jellyfish, turtles, sharks and more! Not to forget, other than scuba diving, snorkeling also available here. Several popular snorkeling spots are Teluk Pauh, Tanjung Basi and Shark Point.

Going to Perhentian Islands just like going to other islands in Terengganu. Most people reach here by boat from Kuala Besut. The journey is about 30 - 45 minutes.

Lang Tengah Island

You can reach Lang Tengah Island (locally known as Pulau Lang Tengah) from Tanjung Merang, which located north of Kuala Terengganu. But you can also reach the island from nearest island such as from Redang Island by boat.

Lang Tengah is a perfect place for - well for a romantic couple to have a dating, honeymoon! The island is such a beautiful place. Watching a sunrise and sunset from this island such a wonderful and romantic moment. Maybe for those who like underwater activities, scuba diving as well as snorkeling are available here.

Gem Island

Gem Island (sometimes being known as Gemia Island or locally Pulau Gemia) is a private beach, suitable for those who want a something-private vacation. The island only contains one resort - it is Gem Island Resort & Spa. But then, this resort offer a five-stars facilities. The island and beach is carefully-cared - offering beautiful white sandy beaches, crystal clear blue waters, and rich green jungle vegetation.

Getting to Gem Island, you can reach here by boat from Marang Jetty. You can also reach from Redang or the other nearest island, Kapas Island.
