There is nothing under Thailand's sun that you can't find at Chatuchak's weekend Market. The locals call it J& J Market.

The market is layed out like a flea market. I've never seen prices so cheap. Speaking Thai will probably give you a better price. Try to make the store owners believe you've been in Thailand for a long time. Bargain up to half the price. The owner might laugh, but will come down in price if you're sweet. The trick is to act like you don't really want the item.

Wear something you're willing to sweat in. Try something from the food stalls--it's delicious. Leave with a new pet, a teak wood carving, thai tea or anything else your little heart desires.

**Be mindful of pickpockets here.

This is a HUGE weekend market that consists of a maze of over 15,000 stalls, including live animals, meat, fish, snacks, handmade paper, Thai handcrafts, music, art, clothing, prepared food, flowers, plants and more. If you get there early, it’s not as packed and not as hot, but some of the vendors are not open yet. Great place to buy gifts to bring home. Very convenient to the Skytrain’s Mo Chit station.
