Kota Bharu is very easy to travel. All the tourist hotspots are located at the heart of the city and within the walking distance. Sultan Ismail Petra Arch is the most important landmark and easy to notice once you are in the historical part of Kota Bharu. Don’t forget to take a picture together with the arch to show that you’ve been to Kota Bharu!

Don’t forget to visit some of the great temples like, Wat Pothivihan (huge reclining Buddha, the longest statue of a sleeping Buddha in Southeast Asia) and Wat Machimarran Varran (sitting Buddha). At Bachok, there is another 100 foot high standing Buddha (just opened to public in June 2009, believed to be the largest standing Buddha in South East Asia).

Either you are Muslims or non-Muslims, Muhammadi Mosque, located just opposite the Sultan Ismail Arch is worth to pay a visit. You are standing at one of the most sacred part of Islamic world! A visit to the mosque will enlighten your vision to Islamic World, a religion which is always seek for peaceful life.

Grilled squid! Where the locals still uses the traditional ways to doing thier bussiness. And this delicacy still remains one of the local's favorites...

Kites or Wau in Malays... Which remains one of the favorite activity for the locals, Kites flying competition are held every year in Kota Bharu...

Central Market, Siti Khadijah! Is where you can get all sorts of raw materials... And a place where you get closer to the locals... Their cultures, diet, habbits and etc. And don't forget to get some souvenirs and snapped some pictures...
