For those of you interested in watching people do WEIRD things, head over to H Street NE to the Palace of Wonders, a bar-cum-freakshow theater. Other than sword swallowing and skipping across beds of nails/glass, nightly shows also include vaudeville acts, magic shows, and live music. This is hardly indicative of D.C.'s buttoned-up world of politicians and steakhouses, but is a fascinating experience that will offer much insight into the lesser-known pulse of the city.
