About this tour

Witness the magnificent fall colors and sample fresh maple syrup as you make your way through classic New England on this glorious fall foliage escorted tour. After a Boston sightseeing tour, travel to Deerfield, a National Historic District, for lunch at a classic country inn built in 1884. Enjoy two overnights in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains, and in the New England village of Stockbridge, visit the Norman Rockwell Studio and Museum. Visit the Hancock Shaker Village and learn about the Shaker’s way of everyday life. Then cross into Vermont and head to Stowe. Near Stowe, visit Shelburne Heritage Park, an outdoor museum depicting early New England life. Enjoy a guided tour of the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream factory and a maple syrup farm before venturing on to New Hampshire's White Mountains. Admire the red and gold leaves as you ride the picturesque Wildcat Mountain gondola to the 4,397-foot summit. Then visit Portland, one of New England’s most famous cities, and Kennebunkport. Continue on the rocky coastline to see the famous town of Salem, infamous for the largest witch hunt in America’s history, before returning to Boston. This vacation through New England is a perfect way to see the beautiful fall foliage for which New England is famous. Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Boston

. Welcome to “Bean Town!” At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Boston–Berkshire Mountains

. Your morning tour of Boston highlights the historic sites near Boston Common, Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Old North Church, and the Freedom Trail. Depart Boston for DEERFIELD, a National Historic District. The town was an outpost of English Colonial civilization. Enjoy lunch at the historic Deerfield Inn, a classic country inn built in 1884. This afternoon, continue to your overnight hotel nestled in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains in Pittsfield. (B,L)

Day 3: Berkshire Mountains. Excursion to Stockbridge

. Travel through valleys of unspoiled New England villages to Stockbridge. Here, visit the NORMAN ROCKWELL STUDIO & MUSEUM, housing a large collection of works by one of America’s favorite artists. Later, visit the HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGE, a restored village consisting of 20 buildings including its famed 1826 Round Stone Barn. Learn about the Shaker’s way of everyday life through interactive demonstrations and by visiting the various historic dwellings. Return to Pittsfield this afternoon for time at leisure. (B)

Day 4: Berkshire Mountains–Stowe

. Head north to Stowe. Visit nearby SHELBURNE HERITAGE PARK, a fascinating 45-acre outdoor museum depicting early New England life. Afterward, a wonderful treat in store: a guided tour of BEN & JERRY’S Ice Cream Factory in the heart of the Green Mountains. Overnight in Stowe, a favorite mountain resort. (B,D)

Day 5: Stowe–North Conway

. This morning, visit a MAPLE SYRUP FARM to learn how maple syrup is produced and tastes. Next, a special lunch at the TRAPP FAMILY LODGE which is still owned and operated by the Trapp Family, made famous by The Sound of Music. After a break in Montpelier, Vermont’s capital, head for New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Enjoy time at leisure this afternoon and maybe do some shopping at New England’s premier outlets. (B,L)

Day 6: North Conway. Excursion to Wildcat Mountain

. At Pinkham Notch, board the Wildcat Mountain GONDOLA for a thrilling ride to the 4,397-foot summit. Also, enjoy the RAVEN INTERPRETIVE PROGRAM focusing on the unique environs of northern New England and local wildlife. (B)

Day 7: North Conway–Portland– Kennebunkport

. Today, travel through the densely wooded, lake-strewn landscape of Maine to Portland, one of New England’s most famous cities. Stroll down the cobblestone streets of Portland’s Old Port Exchange, lined with its many boutiques, coffee houses, and art galleries. Early afternoon arrival in Kennebunkport, with time to explore the quaint shops and galleries of Dock Square. Tonight, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner. Wonderful conversation and cuisine are the perfect finale for your vacation. (B,D)

Day 8: Kennebunkport–Boston

. A scenic drive along the rocky coastline of Maine to Massachusetts with a call at Salem, infamous for the largest witch hunt in American history. You’ll have time to visit the many historic landmarks. Return to Boston with a stop at the airport for guests with homebound flights. Please schedule flights after 3 pm. The motorcoach then continues downtown to the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, where the vacation ends. (B)

Generally stay in centrally located 3 and 4 star hotels.

Most city tours included which include the most popular sites in each destination. Optional excursions, special dinners, etc. are extra. Some meals included and some of the meals include wine, etc.

Free time

Leisure time is built in to most destinations. Even more leisure time if you opt out of the extra excursions.

CANCELLATIONS & CANCELLATION FEES:
If cancellation is received by Globus before the final payment date of your vacation, your non-refundable deposit and Travel Protection premiums will be retained in addition to any airline-imposed fees or penalties.
