Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Denver.

Arrive in the Mile High City of Denver. Pick up your rental car at the airport.

Day 2: Denver–Colorado Springs.

Drive south to Colorado Springs, situated in the shadows of Pikes Peak. Approximately 71 miles/114 km.

Day 3: Colorado Springs–Durango.

On your way to Durango you may want to stop at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. Spanning a quarter-mile across the Arkansas River, it is the world’s highest suspension bridge at 1,053 feet high. View the beautiful Sangre de Cristo and San Juan Mountains as you continue to the Western town of Durango. Approximately 314 miles/505 km.

Day 4: Durango.

A full day at leisure to explore Durango and the local area.

Day 5: Durango–Grand Junction.

Drive through San Juan National Forest, passing by the wellknown mountain town of Telluride. You may want to take a side trip to nearby Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, where you’ll see unique and spectacular landscape formed slowly by the action of water and rock. No other canyon in North America combines the narrow opening, sheer walls, and startling depths offered by the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Overnight in Grand Junction in Colorado’s Wine Country. Approximately 169 miles/271 km.

Day 6: Grand Junction–Glenwood Springs–Vail Area.

Before leaving Grand Junction you may want to visit scenic Colorado National Monument, which preserves one of the grand landscapes of the American West. Travel east through Glenwood Springs, where you might want to stop for a dip in the world’s largest hot springs swimming pool. Continue to the Vail area in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Approximately 147 miles/236 km.

Day 7: Vail Area.

Full day at leisure to relax or explore more of your surroundings. Outdoor activities abound here, so why not enjoy a rafting or kayaking excursion? You can play a round of golf, try you luck at fly fishing, or perhaps go horseback riding. The area is also known for its world-class shopping, soothing spa treatments, and award-winning restaurants.

Day 8: Vail Area–Rocky Mountain National Park–Estes Park.

Continue east and drive scenic Trail Ridge Road over magnificent mountain terrain in Rocky Mountain National Park. Cross the Continental Divide and see fantastic alpine scenery, waterfalls, and wildlife. Overnight in Estes Park with its hundreds of shops, galleries, and restaurants. Approximately 158 miles/254 km.Note: The drive through Rocky Mountain National Park is subject to favorable road and weather conditions.

Day 9: Estes Park–Denver.

Return to Denver and return your rental car at the airport prior to departure. Approximately 70 miles/112 km.

Booking Policy

CANCELLATIONS & CANCELLATION FEES:
If cancellation is received by Globus before the final payment date of your vacation, your non-refundable deposit and Travel Protection premiums will be retained in addition to any airline-imposed fees or penalties. For individual reservations, the following per person cancellation fees apply. Total price does not include discounts, promotions, or special incentives. (For group reservations, refer to the Group Policy.)

STANDARD CANCELLATION FEES:

* 45-22 days prior to commencement of services: 20% of total price plus Travel Protection premiums
* 21-8 days prior to commencement of services: 30% of total price plus Travel Protection premiums
* 7-1 days prior to commencement of services: 50% of total price plus Travel Protection premiums
* On departure day and later: 100% of total price plus Travel Protection premiums
