WORLD OF DIFFERENCE
Arrive in Ho
Chi Minh City (Saigon), where you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Begin your
tour of this exciting city with a tour of the historic center, strolling along Dong
Khoi Street, formerly known as the Rue Catinat, the main
heart of old colonial Saigon. Pass by classic European-style landmarks such as
the ornate City Hall (Hotel De Ville), the old
viewed from the outside), and pay a quick visit to the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame
Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Afterwards dive into modern history with
a tour of the
South Vietnamese president, and was stormed by tanks on April 30, 1975
signifying the fall of South
Museum, which comprehensively documents the travails of the long
American War. Afterwards drive to the historic center to visit Emperor Of Jade
Pagoda, one of Saigon's most interesting pagoda. In the afternoon, head out to Cholon
(Chinatown) with a visit to Binh Tay Market, the Thien Hau Pagoda and the Ben
Thanh Market.
AB
Transfer to
the airport, bid farewell to Saigon as you fly to your next destination.
The tour was excellent! The guide picked us up from the airport and was extremely friendly and knowledgable. Everything was perfect, from the food, to the car they drove us in, to the information they shard with us about the historic places we visited. The hotel rooms were AMAZING, and we didn't even pick the highest level.
We picked the standard room and they were like luxury rooms, I can only imagine how it would have been if we picked the better rooms.
Very well done. Great tour director and great local guides. Attractions, hotels and good are excellent
We had a wonderful time on this trip. There were only 8 people in our group which was fantastic and we were able to do a few things not on the itinerary. We had considered other tour companies before deciding on Pacific Delight and found this to be the best value within our criteria. We will highly recommend Pacific Delight to our friends.
Accommodations in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong were superb (definitely US 5 star ratings). The rest were just a notch below.
The Beijing duck dinner and dumpling lunch were excellent. The rest of the meals were good but nothing to rave about. However we tend to be a bit more discriminating when it comes to food.
Our tour director was excellent as he was knowledgable, accommodating, very organized and had a great sense of humor. The local guides were very good and personable as well.
We recently enjoyed a 10 day trip that included Beijing, Xi An, and Shanghai. Our tour guides were great, but we want to especially commend Sandy, our guide in Shanghai for her exceptional service. She went to extraordinary lengths to assure that we were safe, comfortable, and enjoying the shopping and sights.
One event that Sandy could not fix was that the trip from Xi An to Shanghai did not include any provision for lunch!
I went on your 10-Day China Impressions tour to Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai/Suzhou from September 22 through October 1, 2009. I had a great time. It was a nice introduction to China's history and famous sites. The itinerary was well planned, the hotel accommodations were neat and modern, many of the included meals were good, and the tour guides were outstanding.
The tour guide in each city was thorough in explaining the history and significance of the sites that we visited. They all went out of their way to meet our needs, such as personally leading us through each step of checking in at the local airports. My comments on each guide follow.
David Dou -- Beijing
I commend David on being an excellent tour guide. He was very informative, entertaining, and helpful. His calm manner and humor were reassuring. His explanations on Chinese history and culture were enlightening and greatly enhanced our sightseeing experience. He went out of his way to take care of each member of the tour group.
For example, my travel companion and I wanted to see a particular show at night. The show was sold out but David managed to get us tickets. David went with us to the theater. With little time before the start of the show, he considerately took us to a fast food restaurant to make sure that we had a quick dinner. He sat with us as we ate. Afterwards, he took us to the theater. He handled our admissions and escorted us to our seats. He made sure we were all settled before he went home that night. David went above and beyond the call of duty for us.
I appreciate David's knowledge about China and its culture, his humor and demeanor as a tour guide, and his personal service to everyone. I would highly recommend him as a tour guide for any other travellers to China.
Wei Wei Chen (spelling?) -- Xi'an
Our group spent only a brief day with Wei Wei. In the short time, she did a good job guiding us through the Xi'an sites. She was knowledgeable, pleasant, eager to take care of our needs, and helpful to us in checking in at the airport.
Sandy Wu -- Shanghai/Suzhou
Sandy was very informative and helpful to us. She was enthusiastic in telling us about the history of each site and answering our questions. She gave the group a nice, illustrative lesson on the basics of Chinese calligraphy using flip cards, as a teacher would do for students. Through her actions, Sandy obviously puts a priority on the trip going smoothly for each traveler. She handled problems that anyone encountered as if she would her own.
For example, I and three other people in our group wanted to see a particular show in Shanghai one night. Sandy wrote instructions for a taxi driver to take us to the theater. Unfortunately, we ended up with a horrible taxi driver who took us for a long and dangerous ride. We did not trust that the driver knew where he was going, so we instructed him to take us back to the hotel. We grudging paid the large taxi fare, and cancelled our theater plans. When we wanted to see the show again two nights later, Sandy personally took the subway with us to the theater, handled our admissions, and took us to our seats before she left. When the two hour show ended, I was very surprised to see Sandy waiting in the theater to lead us to the subway station for the train ride back to the hotel. The next day, Sandy even got us a refund for the errant taxi ride. I compliment Sandy as a guide and for personally taking care of us.

In summary, I enjoyed the tour and the tour guides so much that I already recommended your tour to a friend who intends to visit China with his family sometime in early 2010. Feel free to share my respective comments about each tour guide with him or her.
Tour manager, Shaun, made our stays in all 3 cities very enjoyable. She is an excellent manager, very good at her job.
All 3 local guides were fabulous! They made our time in China just wonderful in every way!
All three local guides were fabulous! They made our time in China just wonderful in every way!
Local Guides were Superb!
All 3 Tour Guides were excellent. Itinerary was good to Excellent. Meals were generally very good, especially in Shanghai. Generally, your tour exceeded my expectations in every way.
This was a fantastic introduction to modern China. Please consider "shopping" and "non-shopping" tours. Also, i could have spent the day with the Terracotta Warriors.
Enjoyed the local guides, all of whom were knowledgeable and personable.
Our guide, Shan Dan, was terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
Our tour manager, May Zhou, was excellent! Nice personality very knowledgeable, helpful, informative, good English! A pleasure to be with.
Of all the tours I have joined, Carol Hua is the best and her english is clear and good. Even we were seated on the non-smoking section, other people still smoking, she complains, and they stop smoking. We don't want MSG in our meal, for 10 days in China all our meals we ate did not ahve MSG. She made sure air condition is ON, when we get into the bus. She tells good jokes, whole trip in China is very relaxing and enjoyable, she really takes good care of us.
We have just returned from the Pacific Delight "13 Day Historic Cities & Yangtze River Gold Experience" tour which began on May 13, 2009.
We just wanted you to know what a wonderful time we had. The trip certainly met all our expectations. We particularly want to let you know that our tour leader, Shan Dan, is an exceptional woman. She is super well organized, caring and resourceful. She is a credit to your organization. Her command of the English language is outstanding. She really made the trip special for us.
Our trip tour guide, Tom Li, was a terrific guy, always very helpful! Our hotels were great, especially in Beijing. After the first week of eating Chinese food every lunch and dinner, it would have been great to eat other types of food.
My husband and I recently returned from the above trip. This was the best trip we have been on in the 25+ years we have been travelling. Everything went smoothly for the 19 people in our tour group. Accommodations were great, transportation was good, as was the food.
Over twenty years ago, almost to the day, we took a 23-day Pacific Delight Tour to China (China Focus, Oct 9-31) 1987) so my husband wanted to see the changes over this period of time and travel on the Yangtze River. Our friends called to ask if we wanted to go to China again. When we found out it was a Pacific Delight Tour, we had no hesitation in wanting to go again because of the positive experience the first time.
Our trip was made especially pleasant because of our tour manager, Mr. Lei Liu. We have never written to a tour company before, but Lei was such a great tour manager. He was very professional, as well as caring, personable, reliable, etc. We would certainly recommend your company to our family and friends.
The hotel in Shanghai charged 2 yuan per minute for the internet use and 20 yuan for each sheet of paper they printed. Our visit there cost 375 yuan. This was not a fair price. Overall - a great trip otherwise.
My husband and I were sitting down today and started talking about our trip we took last month to China. It was one of the most enjoyable trips we have ever taken. I think it was due in part by the best tour director we have ever had. Her name was Jing. So, I thought we would just write to tell you what a special person you had for our tour guide. She waited on everybody around the clock. To give you an example when we flew from Chicago to Shanghai my husband became ill upon arrival. jing was right there to take care of us made sure we got back with our group.
Jing made a personal effort to talk with each person on the tour. My husband and I were amazed at her energy level to go almost non-stop. She explained everything in great detail. If anyone knew the history of CHina, Jing did.
When we were in all different restaurants in China, King came to each table and explained what we were eating. This was very important to all as different people had certain things they could not eat in their diet.
My husband and I are both retired from education. It is our belief when someone does something well they should be recognized about a job well done. Great job to Jing and congrats you Pacific Delight Tours for our experience.
We had a terrific trip through China and also to Hong Kong. We wish to express our delight with our Guide JunJie Li. He has a wonderful personality and his knowledge of all the areas we visisted is enormous. He is so friendly and helpful. He is the best guide we ever had. His musical talent was so enjoyable. He absolutely made the whole trip enjoyable and carefree. He will be highly recommended by us as well as Pacific Delight Tours.
The city guides were informative and very pleasant. The bus drivers were very good at their jobs getting through the crowded streets from one sight to the other. China is very hospitable and friendly country. We absolutely love it.
I called to tell you how pleased my clients were with the trip that they took with your company.
They ahve expressed how wonderful the tour was, how well organized it was, and how knowledgeable and helpful the tour manager was who accompanied them. They couldn't believe the value of the tour and how much was inclusive. They raved about the quality of the hotels, the food, the daily tours, the transfers and the organization of the trip as a whole. They really appreciated the fact that their bags were in place at each current hotel on their journey. The clients shared with me that their PDT tour manager had much expertise in the exchange of money and procedures with the exchange.
According to my client, he is supposed to be "singing your praises" on a radio talk show; and I hope it materializes so that we can all go forward with future bookings.
Our tour director, Mr. Li from Beijing, did an outstanding job. you are very lucky to have an employees like him. Mr. Li was available day and night. He kept even the most difficult traveler happy and went out of his way to make everybody welcome and comfortable.
My wife and I decided this was the best trip we ever had and we have had quite a few trips.
The overall trip experience was a wonderful value. There were too many sites in China and my husband actually are discussing about heading back to China again. We've been all around the world but China strikes such a unique travel experience, we have to go back.
Our tour and trip was planned perfectly. The accommodations were comfortable and nice and the Pacific Delight Tours guide made the experience for us. David went out of their way to add additional attractions to our trip that weren't already included. If there were any improvements, it would be to add some western dishes as most meals were Chinese. The Cruise was wonderful and fortunately the selection of Western & Chinese food broke up that trend.
Would recommend.
Overall, this trip exceeded our expectations. Suggestion: to be able to see old China where people still live.
I have taken many tours over 30 years and our tour operator, Wey, was by far the best tour guide I have ever had.
Our national guide from Pacific Delight, Rock, was fabulous. He cared about all of us, answered our many questions and had an excellent sense of humor. He spoke English perfectly.
All the guides were wonderful. The trip exceeded my high expectations of China.
Entire tour was awesome.
I was impressed with your planning:
1. Excellent selection of sites to visit.
2. The precision of going from one place to another without waiting.
3. Meals were good and we never had to wait.
4. Tour guides were all good with fairly good English
5. Excellent selection of hotels
6. Your selection of Victoria Cruises was outstanding.
7. insertion of common Chinese words and phrases were very useful.
Suggestions:
People should be advised that there will be extensive walking on the Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City and many steps on the Great Wall and Bell Tower.
The trip was fantastic. This trip I would highly recommend to others. The only thing that was bad we had to Rush! Rush! but then we would not have seen it all.
The information & knowledge I gained from this trip exceed my expectations. I would love to go on another one to a new destination. I feel very prepared to come back to China.
Our tour director, Max, was fantastic. She was perfect. Knowledgeable, helpful and caring. Probably the best we ever had.
Shan was the delight of our tour. She went out of her way to make sure everything was first class. We had a couple on our tour that were negative about everything we did. They even sat on the bus when we saw the Pandas. Shan did everything to try to make them enjoy the tour. most of the time they did not participate. i think they used Pacific Delight to get to China inexpensively and then conducted their own business. They were know-it-alls and tried to stir up the group (no tipping drivers & local guides). Shan was professional, excellent, and a great ambassador of China!
Excellent plus - thanks to the PERFECT guide Mike Cheng!!! However, extend this trip to more days, especially in Taitung. Also, add visits & aboriginee villages. Food was good, but did not need lunch & dinner, too much.
Only three of us so like a private tour - fabulous. Any other tour company might have cancelled the tour but Pac Del came through with the works. I would always recommend this company. Only disappointment and difficulty was the Victoria Empress with no elevator - and I had a bum knee for a few days - just when I was on that boat - had expected one of their newer boats. It was not Pac Del's fault.
Excellent hotels with great super breakfasts
Loved the food - variety and almost too much of it. Had not expected to love the food but did - will miss real Chinese food new
Some were better than others, but all knowledgable
Although we moved from city guide to city guide they never missed a beat
Planned to perfection. Willing to make minor changes as we went to improve the tour. Informative without being overbearing. Needs were anticipated.
would not change a thing
3 meals a day were offered. Only one meal was sub par (dinner before Shainghi acrobats). Of course some were better than others especially as we went from Beijing south but that is personal taste. Nice mix of West to East
Maybe others may be better but do not see how. Song (Jason) had our interests in mind at all times
Yes, I thought it was great
Tom was wonderful!
