About this tour

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Fly USA to Seoul

Arrive in Korea’s capital, one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan cities. Once nearly decimated during the Korean War, Korea is now home to 12-lane freeways, glistening storefronts, trendy nightclubs, and a variety of restaurants for every international taste. It certainly makes for an interesting mix when placed against the backdrop of ancient royal palaces and elegant pagodas, which serve as a reminder of Seoul’s patriarchal history. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city by attending a cultural performance or visiting a rural village or museum.

Day 2: Welcome to Seoul, Korea

Today enjoy a private guided tour of Seoul which will cover the major attractions: the Blue House, the Southgate Market, and the world famous Gyeongbok Palace-Folk Museum. Enjoy an afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 3: Seoul city tour

Board a bullet train to Gyeongju this morning. Upon arrival, enjoy a private guided tour of the ancient capital of the Silla dynasty in Korea. This is an amateur archaeologist’s dream town, a veritable living museum complete with a plethora of tombs, shrines, palaces, gardens, and castles to explore.
One of the most fascinating sites you’ll visit today is the Tumuli Park, which displays 20 royal tombs, including a cross section of one. From here you can walk to the Noseo-dong tombs, which were excavated in the 20th century. You can also visit one of Asia’s oldest observatories, Cheomseongdae, which at first blush appears to be no more than a pile of rocks, which soon reveal themselves as a mathematical allegory for the days and months of the year. The highlight of your Gyeongju tour, however, will no doubt be the breathtaking Bulguksa temple, one of the most elaborate and awe-inspiring temples in all of Asia, built on a series of stone terraces and featuring elegantly painted interiors and eaves. You can even glimpse the peaceful seated Buddha at Seokguram Grotto, looking down on the town.

Day 4: Train from Seoul to Gyeongju

Today you will be escorted by a private car to the nearby coastal city of Busan, the second largest city in Korea, situated in an idyllic location between the mountains and the sea of the southern Korean peninsula. Tourism to this city is rapidly expanding, thanks to the variety of activities available ranging from tanning on the beaches to hiking in nearby mountains or relaxing in the hot springs located throughout the city. On your private tour you will have the opportunity to see the city’s port, one of the largest container ports in the world, as well as visit the harborside fish market, the Yongdusan Park, the Busan Tower, and the international market.

Day 5: Gyeongju to Busan

Today embark on a glorious Korean beach island adventure as you jet off to Jeju (“Cheju”) island, a favorite destination for honeymooners in Asia. It is also a popular Korean adventure tour destination thanks to its variety of outdoor activities including scuba diving, kayaking, and hiking. But it’s not all about fun in the sun – you will also have the opportunity to learn more about Jeju Island’s native inhabitants at the Folklore and Natural Museum, as well as wander the Moksukwon Garden and capture the perfect photo of the coastal scenery at Yongduam Rock.

Day 6: Fly Busan to Jeju Island

Today enjoy a private excursion to Chonjeyon Waterfall, where you will be taken to Chonjeyon Lookout for breathtaking coastal views. Also visit Sungup folk village and the ancient land mass Seongsan sunrise peak.

Day 7: Cheonjaeyeon Waterfall tour

Say goodbye to the enchanting Jeju Island today and return to Seoul for one last night in the spectacular city which has rebuilt itself from near destruction not once, not twice, but three times, to become the cultural, commercial, and political hub of Korea. Soak in the rich history of this city, which once served as the capital of the Hermit Kingdom and the Yi Dynasty. Despite the destruction caused by the Japanese and Manchu invasions of earlier centuries, as well as the Korean War, Soeul has retained a number of ancient temples, palaces, pagodas, and gardens, albeit today in the shadows of a bustling, modern infrastructure.

Day 8: Fly Jeju Island to Seoul

Today head home, with plenty of fond memories of your Korean adventure.

Day 9: Fly Seoul to USA

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
