    Day 1: Day One

    Fly across the vast Atlantic to the Emerald Isles.

    Day 2: Dublin - Contemporary, yet Filled with History and Tradition

    Once a walled medieval city, Dublin is an eclectic mix of elegant Georgian homes, wide streets and gracious squares. You’ll feel the energy of Celtic tradition wherever you go. See the National Museum, with collections of antiquities, decorative arts and history; the National Gallery, which displays over 2,000 works; the Parliament Building; and St. Stephen's Green. After this renowned district, your tour continues past Trinity College, founded in 1591 by Elizabeth I, whose library contains the Book of Kells, the famous 8th-century hand-illuminated gospel manuscript. Travel along O'Connell Street with its monuments to notable figures from Ireland’s turbulent history as well as the General Post Office, site of rebel headquarters in the 1916 Easter Rising. The Mespil Hotel, your home for the next three nights, is convenient to Temple Bar, Dublin’s cultural quarter and lively nightlife.

    Day 3: Dublin’s Coastal Villages and Malahide Castle

    Experience more of Ireland’s scenic beauty as you drive through the seaside towns, just north of Dublin. Malahide Castle, set on 250 acres of park land, was both a fortress and a private home for nearly 800 years. See the beautiful period furniture along with an extensive collection of Irish portrait paintings, mainly from the National Gallery. Visit the town of Portmarnock, home of the world-famous Portmarnock Golf Club. The quaint fishing port of Howth with its Abbey, lighthouse and pier is your last stop before returning to Dublin.

    Join us for traditional Irish cuisine, merriment and fun. Enjoy a three-course dinner in an 18th-century pub, followed by a musical performance by one of Ireland’s finest groups. Next on the stage are traditional Irish dancers to mesmerize you with their fast jigs and intricate steps.

    Day 4: The Capital of Northern Ireland - Belfast

    In recent years, Belfast has become a popular tourist destination. The city’s architecture is rich in Victorian and Edwardian buildings with elaborate sculptures over the doors and windows. Your panoramic city tour includes Donegall Square, dominated by the elaborate City Hall and Albert Clock. Drive through West Belfast’s Protestant neighborhood of Shankill Road, and the Catholic neighborhood of Falls Road, where large, vivid murals painted on the sides of buildings express the feelings that still run deep on both sides. Though the names of these areas were much in the news during “the Troubles,” the gate in the Peace Wall between them now stands open. Drive by the infamous Titanic Quarter, home to colossal cranes of Harland & Wolff where the RMS Titanic was built and launched. Enjoy lunch on your own and chat with the locals at a pub.

    Day 5: Blarney Castle - Kiss the Stone for the Gift of the Gab!

    Blarney Castle was built more than 600 years ago by the King of Munster, Cormac MacCarthy, and is considered Ireland’s greatest treasure. Legend has it that if you climb to the top of the castle and kiss the “Stone of Eloquence,” you’ll never be at a loss for words. It must be true as everyone from Sir Walter Scott to American presidents and world leaders have tried it. Get caught in its magical spell with Wishing Steps, Witch’s Kitchen, Druid’s Cave and other delights, telling a story of centuries past. After the castle, you’ll have time to wander through the village of Blarney, shop at the Blarney Woolen Mills and have lunch on your own before continuing to Killarney.

    Day 6: Killarney - Ireland’s Most Beautiful Countryside

    Renowned for the splendor of its scenery, Killarney has been the inspiration of poets and painters for centuries. With sparkling lakes, deep forests and jagged misty mountains as background, this lively town will delight you with its pubs, craft galleries and shops. See St Mary's Cathedral, built during the famine by a people whose faith was stronger than their hunger. Muckross House and Gardens are majestically situated on the shores of Killarney National Park. Ride in a horse drawn Jaunting cart, while listening to your “jarvey” (driver), whose tall tales add hilarity to the tour. Ride along the shores of the Lower Lake to the ruins of the 15th-century Franciscan Abbey. Then shop for wool sweaters and fine crystal along charming High Street.

    Day 7: The Dingle Peninsula - One of the most beautiful places on earth

    Staggering cliffs, rocky hills and sandy beaches create this magnificent landscape representing more than 6,000 years of archeological history. Learn about the Blasket Islands, scene of many shipwrecks and once a close-knit fishing community. Along the drive, you’ll see relics from both the Stone Age and Bronze Age as well as the Ecclesiastical period, when Ireland was known as the “land of Saints and Scholars.” It’s easy to see why movies like Ryan’s Daughter and Far and Away were filmed in this sweeping panorama. Enjoy lunch and free time at a pub in the Gaelic town of Dingle.

    Day 0: Overnight Flight

    A quick hop across the pond brings you ever closer to the history, culture and scenic wonders of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

    Day 1: London, England - Tour Begins

    Your tour begins in the magnificent capital city of London. Tonight, meet your fellow travelers at a special welcome dinner.

    Day 2: London

    During a locally guided tour, see London's many unique landmarks - Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the changing of the guard (if held). Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to further explore the historic sites of London or alternatively, pre-purchase the Complete London Experience option which includes a traditional English tea, a Thames River cruise and entrance to the Tower of London.

    Day 3: London - Stonehenge - Bath - Cardiff

    Your day begins with a visit to Stonehenge of Celtic and Druid lore. This mysterious formation dates back to the Stone Age. Next, journey to the elegant Georgian town of Bath for a visit to the Roman Bath Museum. See the elaborate spas, which are nearly 2,000 years old. Continue on to the Welsh capital city of Cardiff for an overnight stay.

    Day 4: Cardiff - Ferry to Ireland - Waterford

    Take in the beautiful countryside of South Wales en route to the coastal village of Fishguard where you board a ferry for a cruise on the Irish Sea across St. George’s Channel to Rosslare, Ireland. Begin your exploration of southeast Ireland in Waterford, founded by the Vikings!

    Day 5: Waterford - Blarney - Killarney

    During a tour through the world-famous Waterford Crystal facility** you will see a demonstration of how cherished crystal treasures are created and you’ll have the opportunity to shop for your own heirlooms. Next, journey through County Cork to the historic Blarney Castle. Wind your way up to the top of the castle, lie back and kiss the famous Blarney Stone. Legend has it those who kiss the stone are blessed with the gift of telling captivating stories. Your day ends in beautiful Killarney where you will find enchanting lakes and deep green valleys, and you’ll meet people with sparkling Irish eyes.

    Day 6: Killarney - Ring of Kerry - Killarney

    A scenic drive brings you to the Ring of Kerry where you’ll find some of Ireland’s most magical scenery. At the Gap of Dunloe, shop for traditional Irish goods handcrafted by local artisans. Marvel at the stunning vistas created by windswept cliffs, rugged mountains, still lakes and picturesque villages. Return to Killarney after a truly enchanting day.

    Day 7: Killarney - Rock of Cashel - Dublin

    The Irish are known for their wit, humility and most of all, their humor. Today, you will have a chance to talk and laugh with a local family when you visit the Molanna Dairy Farm and meet its owners. After your visit and a relaxing spot of tea, you’ll journey through the picturesque “Golden Vale” en route to the Rock of Cashel for a visit to the historic spot where St. Patrick preached and, as legend has it, rid the Emerald Isle of snakes. Your day ends in the "Fair City" of Dublin.

    Day 8: Dublin

    Enjoy a locally guided tour of Dublin. Dubliners are very proud to show off their city on the river Liffey and tell you why it has earned the title as the best city in Europe in which to live. See the Bank of Ireland, O’Connell Street, Grafton Street and Phoenix Park. A visit is included to the famous St. Patrick’s Cathedral. This afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore the city your way - visit a museum, stroll in a park or stop by a pub and chat the afternoon away. Tonight, partake in a fun-filled Irish House Party where everyone has the opportunity to join in song and dance.

    Day 9: Dublin - Ferry Crossing - Wales

    A ferry ride across the Irish Sea transports you to Holyhead in northern Wales where you'll pass Llanfairpwll-gwyn-gyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, the town with the longest name in the world. Perhaps you’ll even learn how to pronounce it! Visit the majestic Caernarfon Castle, where Charles was crowned Prince of Wales. Then, travel through the Welsh countryside where you will discover some of the most fantastic scenery in all of Britain. Tonight, enjoy a traditional Welsh dinner and an introduction to Welsh Gaelic.

    Day 10: Wales - Lake District - Gretna Green - Edinburgh, Scotland

    Travel north into England’s scenic Lake District to see charming Lake Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. Crossing into Scotland, you will stop in the border town of Gretna Green where generations of runaway couples came to be married. Continue to Edinburgh, Scotland’s charming capital city.

    Day 11: Edinburgh

    This morning, a locally guided tour of the regal city of Edinburgh includes entrance to the famous Edinburgh Castle, the city's most prominent landmark and home of the Scottish crown jewels. Also enjoy a visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse*, the Queen's official residence in Edinburgh and former home of Mary, Queen of Scots. The rest of the day is free so that you can listen to the lilt of the Scottish brogue while you shop, explore a museum, or enjoy a tasty afternoon snack.

    Day 12: Edinburgh - York, England

    Today, a ride through the Cheviot Hills returns you to England. Stretching over the open moorland you will find Hadrian’s Wall, which once marked the northern border of the Roman Empire. Stop to see this ancient fortification that was built in AD 121 in response to repeated barbarian invasions against the Romans. This afternoon, visit the historic city of York. Explore its quaint streets, including the famous “Shambles,” which, most agree, is like traveling back in time to the Elizabethan period. In some places the street is so narrow that you can almost touch both sides with outstretched arms. A visit is included to the magnificent 13th-century Minster Cathedral.

    Day 13: York - Coventry - Stratford-Upon-Avon

    Journey to Coventry and visit its famous modern Cathedral, completely rebuilt after the bombing during World War II. Next, venture off to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare. Visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway's thatch-roofed cottage, the childhood home of the author's wife. Join your fellow travelers this evening for a farewell dinner to celebrate your new memories and friends.

    Day 14: Stratford-Upon-Avon - Tour Ends

    Day 1

    Jet off to the trip of a lifetime awaiting you in Europe!

    Day 2

    Check-in to your hotel after 2pm and the remainder of the day is free to relax before meeting your fellow travellers at 6pm. After dinner take a short walk to explore nearby Covent Garden.

    Day 3

    Meet up with your fellow travellers and Tour Manager and jump on the coach for a look at London’s iconic buildings and UNESCO World Heritage sites in our included tour. Start your tour by learning about the Royal family’s place of residence (Buckingham Palace), the horror tales of the Tower of London and the magnificent Westminster Abbey, where Princess Diana’s funeral service was held.

    You’ll also get to see the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stonehenge. Choose to get up close to the famous ring of stones and learn more about the legends surrounding them in an optional excursion.

    Next up: Bath and a taste of the high life. Time here means a look into the gorgeous city, complete with terraces, promenades and heritage buildings. Get the background on the city’s name and Roman past in an optional excursion to the stunning Roman Baths.

    Later, we pull into the up-and-coming city of Bristol for our overnight stay. This former industrial town has transformed into a cultural hub, with fantastic food, modern art and a buzzing harbourside area.

    Tonight, hit up a pub, relax, order yourself a pint and try out traditional British pub food.

    Day 4

    Northbound, we continue on to the port city of Liverpool. Explore this cool town known as the birthplace of the Beatles and home to the famous Liverpool FC football club.

    Back on the coach, take in the wild countryside of the Peak District as we head to York. It’s soaked in history and English traditions.

    Your Tour Manager will wind back the clock and fill you in on York’s 2000-year-old history as you walk through the web of little lanes within the medieval city walls. You’ll see the impressive York Minister, the Shambles and Clifford’s Tower.

    For legends and folklore, opt for a night-time ghost tour that takes you through dark historic alleyways of York. Our expert Local Guide, a typical story-teller, will give you the low down on whose ghosts haunt which houses!

    Day 5

    Back on the coach, we wind our way through the jaw-droppingly beautiful Lake District. The area has a reputation as England’s most scenic region and you’ll soon understand why. Filled with 16 major lakes, high peaks and cute, stone-built settlements, this region is all about picture-perfect countryside.

    For a bit of action, have a go with the paddle and get out on the water in an optional canoeing or kayak activity. If you feel like getting some adrenaline pumping, try a high ropes course. For those who want to keep their feet firmly on the ground, there’s plenty of hiking trails through the beautiful English countryside.

    This afternoon we travel to Bowness-on-Windemere. With free time, opt for a cruise on Lake Windermere and see for yourself why this region inspired so many poets. Otherwise, walk through this bustling town and find a cute tea room. If you’re keen, try a traditional English afternoon tea with tasty scones and hot tea.

    Day 6

    Northbound, we’ll drop by the 2000-year-old Hadrian’s Wall, the Roman Empire’s most impressive engineering feat, before traveling on through the English countryside.

    Afterwards, we farewell England and cross the border into Scotland, where we visit the small village and romantic hot spot of Gretna Green, famous for holding runaway marriages.

    Later, we pull into the buzzing city of Edinburgh. Home to loads of festivals, cutting-edge Edinburgh serves up a fun, creative mix of ancient and modern.

    You’ll get a good look around this striking city as your Tour Manager fills you in on the core sites of the Old and New Towns. Check out the Robbie Burns statue, the National Gallery and the Grass Market, where local artists, designers and craftspeople sell their wares.

    Tonight, there’s a chance to experience a hearty Scottish meal, complete with haggis and a traditional bag piper. After dinner, round up some friends and head out into the city’s pumping nightlife. Edinburgh has so much on offer – so ask your Tour Manager for some tips on the city’s cosy pubs, basement bars and happening clubs.

    Day 7

    With a free day, decide how you want to shape your Edinburgh experience and explore this living time-line.

    Explore the scene-stealing Edinburgh Castle, perched high up above the city on an extinct volcano, where the Scottish crown jewels and famous Stone of Destiny are housed. Retrace Scottish royalty’s footsteps and walk the Royal Mile with its jumble of medieval houses and buildings. See the Holyrood Palace, former home to Mary Queen of Scots.

    For a one-stop shopping spot, make the most of Princes Street. From kilts and tartans to modern labels and cashmere, this street has it all.

    At lunch, go local and order some traditional fish’n’chips and a deep fried chocolate bar if you’re feeling adventurous!

    For a relaxing afternoon, spend some time in Edinburgh’s famous Botanical Gardens. Explore the 72 acres of grounds, exotic plants and stunning glass houses.

    Day 8

    Stop by St. Andrews, Scotland’s oldest university town and the “home of golf” where you’ll see the famous course of the same name that is used in major international tournaments. Then roll on through the Scottish highlands, packed with wild mountain scenery, rugged green hills and the tales of old clans.

    Get the inside story on the time-old tradition of whisky, Scotland’s national drink, at our guided visit of a whisky distillery. Sip on malts like the Scots and maybe even pick up a bottle to take with you.

    Next up is the stuff of legends. There’s a chance to cruise the world-famous Loch Ness, on our optional activity this afternoon. Find out more as your Tour Manager fills you in on the lake’s mythical monster.

    Back on the coach, plug in your headphones, sit back and take in the dramatic scenery. We drive past turreted castles and surging rivers before stopping for the night in this spectacular spot.

    Day 9

    This morning, we continue on past tiny villages, emerald green moors, lakes and seaside cliffs that the West Highlands are so famous for.

    You’ll see the iconic Eilean Donan Castle – one of Scotland’s most recognized monuments. Sitting above the Alsh, Duic and Long Lochs, with a spectacular mountain backdrop, the 13th century castle is stunning.

    On the stunning Isle of Skye, we visit the seaside town of Portree, known for its brightly coloured houses and charming fishing port. Next up: the bizarre landscapes of the Trotternish Peninsula, where sharp cliffs and stone pillars rise above the wild Atlantic sea. Your Tour Manager will tell you the stories and legends connected too this remote inner Herbridean Island and fill you in on how people live in this dramatic environment.

    Later, we pass Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, as we continue through the remote West Highlands.

    Day 10

    We make our way to Glasgow this morning, via Stirling, famous for its iconic Castle and William Wallace Memorial. Your Tour Manager will tell you all about this historic point of conflict and the battles that took place here before we reach Scotland’s largest city.

    We arrive in Glasgow this afternoon. It’s pulsing with urban soul, pubs filled with colourful characters and the most happening live music scene in the country.

    There’s free time to explore this UNESCO city of music. Walk around the down town and see the city’s famed Victorian architecture, including Glasgow’s gothic cathedral, the impressive City Chambers and St George’s Square – located right in the city’s heart.

    Tonight, get out amongst the locals and try some of Scotland’s tasty produce. Order yourself some of the country’s world-renowned salmon, trout or Aberdeen Angus beef and grab yourself a pint. Later, make the most of the live music scene and ask your Tour Manager where to go for door-to-door music venues.

    Day 11

    Ferry across the Irish sea to Northern Ireland and travel through County Meath and Boyne Valley - former seat of power for ancient kings and the site of one of Ireland’s most bloody battles.

    Continue on to dynamic, down-to-earth Dublin. This bustling student town has a whole lot of heart and loads of things to do.

    Day 12

    We slide by Belfast, former hotspot of the Troubles (political conflict in Ireland) and learn about the city’s difficult past. Our Local Guide will introduce Belfast’s iconic political murals and Victorian buildings, while telling you the story behind the city’s history.

    Later on, you’ll be amazed by the natural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage site, the Giant’s Causeway. With approximately 40 000 rock columns packed together, reaching heights of 12 m( 36ft),this unbelievable rock formation will give you goose bumps.

    Next up: riverside Londonderry. With loads of artistic activity, it’s the central point of Northern Ireland’s cultural renewal

    Day 13

    Your Tour Manager will show you the city’s famous 17th century walls. They’ve go t a rep for a reason – standing at 8 metres high and 9 metres long, no enemy has ever succeeded in getting through them.

    Explore more of Londonderry with our Local Guide in a fascinating optional tour around the historic city. Learn about epic battles of the past before taking a step back in time with the People’s Gallery in Bogside Our Local Guide will explain how the colourful murals sum up and commemorate key events from the Troubles.

    Cruise on to the traditional town of Galway. Loaded with Irish soul and packed with lively pubs, Galway gives you a chance to experience the typically Irish. Get a feel for this pretty town’s atmosphere, where street performers, magicians and traditional musicians busk outside colourfully painted buildings.

    Make the most of your free night, round a group of friends and head to the pub. Listen out for locals speaking Irish as you try out traditional Irish stew or order some of the region’s famous oysters.

    Day 14

    Jump on a ferry and cruise out to the stunning Aran Islands for a day away from it all on a gorgeous optional excursion. With rugged cliffs, wild flowers and pounding seas, the Aran Islands are all about natural beauty.

    Day 15

    Continue on, past the vertical cliffs of Moher, through the moors and woodlands. See the medieval Blarney Castle, where you can kiss the magical Blarney Stone if you’re keen – your Tour Manager will fill you in on the legend.

    Later, we pull into colourful Cork, set on the banks of the River Leah. Make the most of your free time and enjoy some shopping. Rummage through the lively markets, bustling with friendly locals. There’s the rowdy Coal Quay street market where you’ll find local produce or the historic English Market, operating since 1785.

    Day 16

    Visit portside Cobh and its Heritage Centre, and get the background on the Titanic and her last port of call. Also find out about how 2.5 million people left Ireland from this spot during the famine.

    Get familiar with local know-how on a guided tour around the Jameson’s whiskey distillery, where you’ll learn how they make this famous drop and taste some for yourself.

    En route for Kilkenny, you’ll see the Rock of Cashel. The former seat of power to the region’s kings is now a striking green hill topped with ancient ruins. Afterwards, discover Kilkenny’s medieval charm and its signature sites, Kilkenny Castle and St. Canice’s Cathedral.

    Day 17

    Back into buzzing Dublin, you’ve got time to explore more of this charismatic capital.

    Discover Dublin’s fascinating heritage with your Tour Manager who’ll show you Trinity college, the 120 metre high Monument of Light, Parnell Square and St Stephen’s Green, once the site of Dublin’s public floggings and hangings.

    Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Guinness Storehouse and get the low down on Ireland’s national drink. Find out how the “black stuff” is made and how to pull a pint the Irish way. You’ll even get to satisfy your taste buds with a Guinness at the end

    Then it’s on to one of the most important places in Ireland’s history: Kilmainham Gaol. Learn about the bloody struggle for independence as the group discovers the jail that once held so many political prisoners.

    Dublin has it all shopping-wise so get some pointers from your Tour Manager and hit the shops on Grafton Street or poke around Dublin’s many bookstores. For a bite to eat, head to the open air food and fresh produce markets and live a bit of the local lifestyle.

    Cap off your tour with a night out with the group and opt for authentic Irish experience, complete with a traditional meal and Irish dancing in one of Dublin’s most popular pubs.

    Afterwards, make the most of your last night and head to the cultural hot spot of Temple Bar, where pubs, bars and cafes spill out onto cobbled lanes.

    Day 18

    Ferry back across the Irish Sea to Wales. Travel through the unspoilt and rock- strewn Snowdonia National Park and show off your pronunciation skills when we pass by the town with the longest name in the UK, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.

    Then it’s back to London where the tour ends, so make sure you get your new friends’ email addresses.

    Day 1: Wed. BOARD YOUR OVERNIGHT TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT.

    Day 2: LONDON, ENGLAND.

    Thu. ARRIVE IN Check into your hotel. In the afternoon there’s time to rest or to start exploring the lively British capital; uniformed Hosts are available to help you make the most of your stay.

    Day 3: LONDON.

    Fri. A full day to enjoy our exciting program of optional activities. Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide includes all the famous landmarks: the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben beside the River Thames, Westminster Abbey, Whitehall’s mounted horseguards and the Prime Minister’s Downing Street, Piccadilly Circus, and Buckingham Palace. Highlights are a visit to St. Paul’s Cathedral and the ceremonial pageantry of the Changing of the Guards, if held. This afternoon you may want to visit Windsor Castle or the Tower of London with its spectacular Crown Jewels, and tonight a leisurely cruise on the River Thames would be fun. (B)

    Day 4: LONDON–OXFORD–STRATFORD-UPON-AVON–COVENTRY.

    Sat. Meet your Tour Director and traveling companions and depart at 8 am for a memorable day of sightseeing: a photo opportunity at Hampton Court Palace; Runnymede, where King John sealed the Magna Carta; a walking tour in Oxford, one of the country’s oldest seats of learning; and skirting the Cotswold Hills to Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon. Take your pictures of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and explore the town at your own pace. Finally, at Coventry, whose center had to be rebuilt after the devastation of World War II bombings, hear the tale of Lady Godiva and Peeping Tom, and admire the splendid modern cathedral. (B,D)

    Day 5: COVENTRY–YORK–NEWCASTLE.

    Sun. Leave the Midlands, passing the once-mighty Sherwood Forest, home of the legendary Robin Hood, and head north to York, England’s most complete medieval city. Stand in awe in front of the great structure of York Minster, then follow your Tour Director through a maze of quaint streets, including the narrow Shambles. Stop for the night in Newcastle, once an important center for the wool trade and coal mining and now a vibrant modern city. (B,D)

    Day 6: NEWCASTLE–EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND.

    Mon. See a section of Hadrian’s Wall, the Roman coast-to-coast defense against marauding northern tribes, then motor through wild Northumberland National Park to the Scottish border. Stop for photos at Jedburgh, with glimpses of the house of Mary, Queen of Scots, and then Melrose with its 12th-century abbey ruins and connections with Robert the Bruce. Afternoon arrival at Edinburgh. A suggestion for this evening: a traditional Scottish night out with Highland dancers, bagpipers, and, of course, the Ceremony of the Haggis. (B)

    Day 7: EDINBURGH.

    Tue. A full day to enjoy this “Prince of Cities.” Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide introduces you to the 200-year-old “New Town” and famous scientists, inventors, and novelists. In the “Old Town,” drive up the narrow Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle to admire Scotland’s Crown Jewels. Afternoon at leisure. For departure numbers 0807, 0814, and 0821, tickets are included for tonight’s performance of the world-renowned Military Tattoo. (B)

    Day 8: EDINBURGH–ST. ANDREWS–INVERNESS–STRATHPEFFER.

    Wed. A day of memorable sightseeing: St. Andrews, whose Royal and Ancient Golf Club has given us the rules of golfing; Braemar, home of the Royal Highland Games for over 900 years; and Royal Deeside, where the Queen is an annual visitor. Cross the battlefield of Culloden Moor with its memories of Bonnie Prince Charlie, then via Inverness, head for your Highland destination. (B,D)

    Day 9: STRATHPEFFER. WEST COAST EXCURSION.

    Thu. More spectacular Scottish scenery: the lovely Falls of Shin, Dornoch Firth, and the Kyle of Sutherland. Then, follow Strath Oykel for a visit to Ullapool, a remote fishing harbor on Loch Broom, before returning along Loch Glascarnoch. Our recommendation for this evening: join the optional Loch Ness Experience, which includes a cruise on the loch followed by supper at a local inn. (B)

    Day 10: STRATHPEFFER–ISLE OF SKYE–FORT WILLIAM–GLASGOW.

    Fri. More heather-clad moors as you drive through the western Highlands to Lochalsh and the Inner Hebridean Isle of Skye. The route back to the mainland is by ferry across the Sound of Sleat to Mallaig, then breathtaking scenery all the way to Fort William beneath Ben Nevis. Glen Coe, where the MacDonald Clan was treacherously massacred by the Campbells in 1692, and a drive along the “Bonnie Banks” of Loch Lomond are scenic highlights on the way to Glasgow, Scotland’s great cultural city.     Day 11: GLASGOW–BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND.

    Sat. On this morning’s orientation drive through Scotland’s largest city, see the fine 12th-century cathedral, imposing university buildings, and elegant Georgian Squares built by the wealthy tobacco barons. Later, stop at Alloway, the birthplace of Robert Burns, before boarding the ferry for the Irish Sea crossing to Belfast. Consider joining tonight’s optional excursion, a “living history” tour of this fascinating city in the company of a Local Guide. (B)

    Day 12: BELFAST–GIANT'S CAUSEWAY–DERRY–SLIGO, IRELAND.

    Sun. Take the scenic route along the Antrim coast to awe-inspiring Giant’s Causeway, then let the province’s story unfold as you head for the city of Derry, and later Belleek Pottery, renowned for its exquisite cream-colored Parian china. At Drumcliff, see the grave of native son and poet W.B.Yeats before arriving in Sligo, tonight’s destination. (B,D)

    Day 13: SLIGO–KNOCK–GALWAY–CLIFFS OF MOHER–ENNIS.

    Mon. South to Knock, a village that has attracted pilgrims from all over the world since the townsfolk saw apparitions, and Galway on its beautiful bay, where you hear about the infamous Lynch Stone, commemorating the day Mayor James Lynch Fitzstephen hanged his son for murder. Cross the limestone plateau of The Burren to visit the spectacular 668-foot Cliffs of Moher. Tonight, a chance to attend an optional banquet at Bunratty Castle. (B)

    Day 14: ENNIS–DINGLE PENINSULA–KILLARNEY.

    Tue. Via Clonderlaw Bay to Killimer for the ferry across the Shannon estuary. Breathtaking scenery this afternoon on the Dingle Peninsula, where the 32-mile Slea Head drive affords magnificent vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. Afternoon arrival in Killarney, your destination for the next two nights. (B,D)

    Day 15: KILLARNEY. RING OF KERRY EXCURSION.

    Wed. At Killorglin, join the road known as the “Ring of Kerry” for a 100-mile coastal panoramic drive: sparkling seascapes, mountains dotted with brightly colored farmhouses, winding lanes bordered with subtropical vegetation, and spectacular views of the Lakes of Killarney. Then, a special optional adventure: take a horse-drawn jaunting car along the national park lakeshore for pictures of Ross Castle. Later, enjoy the optional outing to Tralee for dinner and a performance at Siamsa Tire, Ireland’s National Folk Theatre. (B)

    Day 16: KILLARNEY–BLARNEY–TRAMORE.

    Thu. More scenic splendor as you head into County Cork. Stop in Blarney, famous for its Stone of Eloquence, with time at your leisure to see the castle and shop for Irish crafts and handmade crystal. After lunch, drive past Cork, the country’s second-largest city. Finally, Dungarvan and along the Copper Coast to the seaside resort of Tramore. Tonight, maybe an optional pub tour before dinner at your hotel. (B,D)

    Day 17: TRAMORE–WATERFORD–AVOCA–DUBLIN.

    Fri. Highlights on your northbound journey: Waterford, famed for its exquisite crystal; Enniscorthy, site of the final battle of the Great Rebellion of 1798; a visit to Ireland’s oldest handweaving mill at Avoca; views of the Wicklow Mountains; and Glendalough with its ruins of a center of Irish Christianity, founded by St. Kevin. Afternoon arrival in Dublin. Take your Tour Director’s dining recommendation for this evening. (B)

    Day 18: DUBLIN.

    Sat. A day in the “Fair City” starts off with an orientation drive through Ireland’s capital and includes statue-lined O’Connell Street, elegant Georgian squares, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The rest of the day is free to enjoy Dublin at leisure. Top the day with an optional dinner evening at the Guinness Storehouse. (B)

    Day 19: DUBLIN–WREXHAM, WALES.

    Sun. Across the Irish Sea to Holyhead on the Welsh Isle of Anglesey with its tongue-twisting place names. Enjoy the best of North Wales on a scenic drive through Snowdonia National Park, including spectacular Llanberis Pass and pretty Betws-y-Coed, before arriving in Wrexham. This evening, why not join an optional excursion by barge along the Llangollen Canal? (B,D)

    Day 20: WREXHAM–CHESTER, ENGLAND–CARDIFF, WALES.

    Mon. In Chester, the historic county town on the River Dee, your walking tour takes in the Roman remains, black and white half-timbered buildings, and the two-tiered shopping arcades called the “Rows.“ Head south now through the market town of Ludlow to Cardiff. In the Welsh capital an orientation drive takes in Cathays Park with its splendid civic buildings and Cardiff Castle. Your Tour Director will recommend tonight’s optional Welsh evening. (B)

    Day 21: CARDIFF–BATH, ENGLAND–PLYMOUTH.

    Tue. Across the Severn Bridge to the elegant Georgian city of Bath, famed for its Roman relics. Into the West Country via Glastonbury and its associations with King Arthur, and wild and romantic Dartmoor with a visit to the picture-book village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Upon arrival in Plymouth, hear about Sir Francis Drake and see the Mayflower Steps, where the Pilgrim Fathers embarked in 1620. (B,D)

    Day 22: PLYMOUTH. CORNWALL EXCURSION.

    Wed. A day full of West Country sights as you head through Daphne du Maurier’s Cornwall. After viewing St. Michael’s Mount rising boldly out of the sea, take your photos at Land’s End before exploring the popular seaside resort of St. Ives. Your Tour Director will have suggestions for this evening. (B)

    Day 23: PLYMOUTH–STONEHENGE–SALISBURY–BRIGHTON.

    Thu. An interesting day heading into Thomas Hardy’s Wessex and views of the intriguing prehistoric monument of Stonehenge. Take a break in Salisbury for a look at its vast cathedral, the ultimate in Early English Gothic architecture. Stop for photos at historic Arundel, dominated by the Duke of Norfolk’s huge castle, before continuing on to the seaside resort of Brighton for an overnight stay. (B,D)

    Day 24: BRIGHTON–TUNBRIDGE WELLS–LONDON.

    Fri. A leisurely last day on the road with time this morning for a seafront promenade stroll or to browse along The Lanes, a quaint area of narrow streets renowned for its antique shops. Finally, take the scenic route via the pretty market town of Lewes and pause for lunch in picturesque Royal Tunbridge Wells before returning to London about 3 pm. How about celebrating the success of your tour with a night out on the town? (B)

    Welcome to London! After checking into your Trafalgar hotel, time is at leisure to relax and unwind.

    Day 3

    Greetings from our Tour Director this morning as we begin our drive through Oxfordshire countryside to Stratford-upon-Avon. On our arrival we see Anne Hathaway's cottage at Shottery and then visit the house where Shakespeare was born. This afternoon we continue to Viking York where a walking tour takes us through the historic streets to the cobbled Shambles, around the city walls and to the magnificent York Minster. This evening we will enjoy a Welcome Drink before dinner with our Tour Director and fellow travellers. (Continental breakfast / Dinner) 

    Hotel: Holiday Inn

    Day 4

    This morning after breakfast, we will enjoy a beautiful drive that takes us through the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the quaint villages and scenic glory of the Lake District. We continue along the shores of Lake Windermere and today our Tour Director will show us a Hidden Treasure on our journey! Later, we cross the border into Bonnie Scotland and drive through the Southern Uplands en route to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city and former centre of the shipbuilding industry. On our orientation tour we will see George Square and the cathedral as well as the River Clyde. (Full breakfast)

    Day 5

    After breakfast our morning drive brings us to Edinburgh, Scotland's capital, where a guided sightseeing tour shows us Princes Street, the Royal Mile and views of Holyrood House, in front of Arthur’s Seat, once home of Mary Queen of Scots, the new Scottish Parliament and a guided visit to Edinburgh's imposing castle. Then enjoy time at leisure to do as you please before going back to Glasgow for the night. This evening we will enjoy a Highlight Dinner with traditional hospitality in a local restaurant. (Full breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

    Day 6

    Today we drive past Robert Burns' cottage and his monument at Alloway and then along the rugged Ayrshire coast with its many seals and wild birds via Turnberry and its exquisite golf course to Stranraer for our ferry to Belfast in Northern Ireland. Our cruise takes us past the isle of Ailsa Craig, known as the stepping stone from Ireland to Scotland, on our way to the Irish coast. On arrival in Belfast a sightseeing tour with a local guide shows us both sides of this fascinating city including the City Hall and Queen's University as well as the dock where the Titanic was built. Then we're on our way south, crossing the River Boyne at Drogheda and on to Dublin for two nights. (Full breakfast)

    Day 7

    Our morning sightseeing tour in this 'fair city' with a local expert shows us Trinity College, the Bank of Ireland, which used to be Ireland's House of Parliament, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Phoenix Park and the Georgian Squares. Then we visit Old Jameson Whiskey Distillery and get to taste a little too! The rest of your day is at leisure. You may wish to shop for Irish tweeds and linen in O'Connell or Henry Streets or maybe take a trip to the stately home of Malahide. This evening, why not join us in the excitement at an Irish cabaret? (Full breakfast)

    Day 8

    After a good Irish breakfast, our first stop will be at the Irish National Stud Farm located outside the town of Kildare. Here we will enjoy a guided walking tour conducted by a member of the friendly staff, through the tranquillity of the grounds and gardens. We will see world-class stallions and have time to visit the glorious Japanese Garden. Then we travel on Irish country roads through the 'Boreens' to medieval Kilkenny where we see its ancient castle. Later, we continue our drive to the Waterford Crystal Factory where we have an included visit to see how crystal is created. (Full breakfast)

    Day 9

    An early start this morning as we drive to Rosslare Harbour where we board our ferry to Pembroke in South Wales, seat of the Tudor dynasty. We drive along the heritage coast and continue on to the Welsh capital, Cardiff. Here we stop to view its historic castle and see the Millennium Stadium Cardiff Arms Park. Tonight, we enjoy a Farewell Dinner together. (Full breakfast / Farewell Dinner)

    Day 10

    This morning we cross the Severn Bridge into England heading to the glorious city of Bath. An orientation tour shows us its graceful terraces and includes a visit to the Baths dating from Roman times. From here we continue to the mysterious monolithic stone circle at Stonehenge – a World Heritage site. Then we continue to Salisbury with time to view its impressive cathedral – with the tallest spire in Britain. Finally we return to London in the afternoon with a night at leisure to explore this lively city. (Full breakfast)

    Day 4: BRISTOL–CARDIFF, WALES–TRAMORE, IRELAND.

    Mon. Cross the River Severn to the Welsh capital. An orientation drive here introduces you to the major attractions: Cardiff Castle, Cathays Park, Millennium Stadium, and the stately civic buildings. Vistas of rich dairy farmland on the way to the departure point for the ferry across St. George’s Channel to Ireland, arriving at Rosslare in just under four hours. Overnight is in the seaside resort of Tramore. (B,D)

    Day 5: TRAMORE–CORK–BLARNEY–KILLARNEY.

    Tue. Discover why Ireland is called the “Emerald Isle.” Dungarvan, Youghal, and Cork, the country’s second-largest city, are milestones on the way to Blarney, renowned for its Stone of Eloquence. Time at your leisure to see the castle and shop for Irish crafts and handmade crystal. After lunch, head through the Cork and Kerry mountains for the resort town of Killarney. (B,D)

    Day 6: KILLARNEY–RING OF KERRY–LIMERICK–ENNIS.

    Wed. This morning, take a 100-mile coastal panoramic drive known as the “Ring of Kerry”—sparkling seascapes, mountains dotted with brightly colored farmhouses, winding lanes bordered with subtropical vegetation, and spectacular views of the Lakes of Killarney from Ladies View.     This morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour that includes many major sights then the remainder of the day is at leisure to explore. (Buffet breakfast)

    Day 4

    Greetings from our Tour Director as we leave London and drive to Runnymede where the Magna Carta was signed and then through Windsor Great Park and past Windsor Castle. Then on to the mysterious stone circle at Stonehenge before stopping in Salisbury with a chance to visit the beautiful cathedral. We continue to the elegant Georgian streets of Bath where we tour the Roman Baths before continuing to Cardiff, capital of Wales. This evening, we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our Tour Director. (Continental breakfast)

    Day 5

    We will see Cardiff Castle before driving across South Wales via Carmarthen. Next we head to Pembroke to view the castle, birthplace of Henry VII of the Tudor dynasty. Here we board our ferry for Rosslare in Ireland. On our arrival we drive on to Waterford. (Full breakfast / Dinner)

    Day 6

    First we visit the Waterford Crystal showroom, then we drive along the splendid southern coast passing Youghal and Cork. Nearby, we visit Blarney Castle so that you can kiss the stone and acquire the 'gift of the gab'. From here we continue over the Cork and Kerry Mountains to Kenmare.  (Full breakfast / Dinner)

    Day 7

    This morning we drive around the Ring of Kerry, a wonderful landscape hewn by the last Ice Age with some of the most beautiful and unspoilt coastline in Ireland and Ireland’s highest mountains. Then north to County Limerick through Adare, the prettiest village in Ireland, and crossing the mighty Shannon to our hotel in Limerick. (Full breakfast)

    Day 8

    This morning we will have the chance to visit Bunratty Castle and folk park. Then we drive across County Clare en route to view Galway Bay. We stop in Galway then head across to Dublin. (Full breakfast)

    Day 9

    Our Dublin tour shows us Trinity College and the Book of Kells, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Phoenix Park and the Georgian Squares. Finally we visit Old Jameson Whiskey Distillery to learn about this great tradition. Time at leisure.  (Full breakfast)

    Day 10

    Today we take the ferry across the Irish Sea, affording magnificent views of Dublin Bay to Holyhead on the Welsh Island of Anglesey. Cameras at the ready as we see the station with the longest name in the world, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgoger-ychwyrndrobwlllantysiliogogogoch. Passing by the Snowdonia National Park we travel on to Chester where our Tour Director takes us on a walking tour which includes the Roman walls, the ‘Rows’ and a Hidden Treasure. Then we continue on to Liverpool and enjoy a Highlight Dinner. (Full breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

    Day 11

    Today we travel to the English Lake District and stop in pretty Grasmere to see the home of William Wordsworth. Our next stop is at Gretna Green just across the Scottish border, the place where eloping couples could marry against their parents’ wishes. Finally on to Edinburgh. During the Festival, we include tickets to the spectacular Edinburgh Tattoo. (Full breakfast)

    Day 12

    Morning sightseeing with a local guide includes a visit of the apartments in the castle and views of Holyrood House by Arthur’s Seat. We will also drive along elegant Princes Street with its views on to the Crag and Tail on which the castle and Royal Mile are built, and we will see the impressive monument to Sir Walter Scott.     Day 13

    Through the Scottish Borderlands and across the River Tweed we stop to see the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey and then view the magnificent scenery at Carter Bar. Driving into the Northumberland National Park we stop to inspect a section of the Emperor Hadrian’s Wall at Heddon and then cross the River Tyne at Newcastle. Soon we stop to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea. Next on to York where our Tour Director takes us on a walking tour through the Shambles and other interesting parts of the city finishing at the largest cathedral in Britain, York Minster, before continuing to our hotel. (Full breakfast)

    Day 14

    This morning we drive close by Sherwood Forest, associated with the legendary Robin Hood, to Coventry. Here we see the two cathedrals – one bombed during the second World War and the other built to replace it like a phoenix rising from the ashes. We’ll also see the statue of Lady Godiva before before enjoying a Farewell Dinner at our hotel tonight. (Full breakfast / Farewell Dinner)

    Today we view Anne Hathaway's thatched cottage en route to Stratford-upon-Avon to visit Shakespeare's birthplace. Next to Bladon to see Sir Winston Churchill's grave. Our final stop is at Oxford where we enjoy a guided walk around before our journey leads us back to London. (Full breakfast)

From the port of Holyhead, sail across the sea to Ireland and its fun-loving capital, Dublin, for a two-night stay.

    Drive to County Kildare, Ireland's premier thoroughbred horse region, for a guided tour of the National Stud, and admire the adjoining Japanese Gardens. Continue to view one of the great sights of Ireland, St. Patrick's great Rock of Cashel, crowned with the noblest group of medieval monuments in Ireland. Cross the rolling pastures which encircle Tipperary, which is immortalised in the famous song, before reaching Killarney.

    Day 13: RING OF KERRY EXCURSION

    A delightful excursion takes you around the magical Ring of Kerry, a world of towering cliffs, lush lake lands and remote villages.     Cross the rugged Derrynasaggart Mountains to visit the famous 15th century Blarney Castle, the home of the famous stone of eloquence, once kissed, never forgotten!
