    Day 1: Arrive in Seattle

    . (Wed.) Welcome to the Emerald City! At 6:30 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.

    Day 2: Seattle

    . (Thu.) This morning begins with a guided tour of Seattle, including Pike Place Market, a local shopping mecca; Pioneer Square, Seattle’s original downtown; and a trip up the SPACE NEEDLE for spectacular views of the city below. Continue your tour at the FUTURE OF FLIGHT AVIATION CENTER for a tour of the Boeing Factory and past, present, and future developments in aviation technology. Later this afternoon is at leisure in Seattle. Maybe visit Starbucks’ first coffee shop, Seattle Center, or the Seattle Art Museum, with one of the nation’s premier collections of Northwest Coast Indian art and artifacts. (B)

    Day 3: Seattle–Portland

    . (Fri.) Travel south this morning, possibly capturing your first glimpse of Mount Rainier, a towering ice-clad volcano. Then, head for world-famous Mount St. Helens as you journey to VOLCANO VISITOR’S CENTER. Here you’ll have an opportunity to learn about the dramatic eruption in 1980. On to Portland, known as the “City of Roses.” Visit WASHINGTON PARK, home of the INTERNATIONAL ROSE TEST GARDENS. (B)

    Day 4: Portland–Gleneden Beach

    . (Sat.) Enjoy a city sightseeing tour of Portland before seeing impressive MULTNOMAH FALLS. Continue along the rugged Pacific coastline en route to Newport, one of Oregon’s most popular seaside resorts. Along the way, visit the EVERGREEN AVIATION MUSEUM, home to the famous Spruce Goose. Later, take in the fresh ocean breezes at your hotel, the distinguished Salishan Spa & Golf Resort at Gleneden Beach. (B,D)

    Day 5: Gleneden Beach

    . (Sun.) This morning, visit the OREGON COAST AQUARIUM as you explore their indoor exhibits and a vast outdoor marine habitat. After time for lunch in Newport you may opt for a behind-the-scenes look at the fishing and crabbing industry on a harbor cruise aboard the Discovery. Onboard activities include opportunities as volunteer deckhands blended with a lively narration from a team of marine Naturalists. Or, enjoy a free afternoon to explore your lodge. (B)

    Day 6: Gleneden Beach–Gold Beach

    . (Mon.) Continue south and visit YAQUINA HEAD LIGHTHOUSE before time in Bandon-by-the-Sea with its unique offshore rock formations. Also see popular sites such as Heceta Head Lighthouse and Florence Old Town before arriving at Gold Beach. (B,D)

    Day 7: Gold Beach–Redwood National Park–Eureka

    . (Tue.) One of Oregon’s great natural treasures is the scenic Rogue River. Experience a thrilling ride through this wild and remote region by glass-enclosed JETBOAT—have your cameras ready for glimpses of the American Bald Eagle. Also enjoy a light brunch en route. Travel south along the Pacific Coastline and stop in REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK, home to the world’s tallest trees. Then, enter Eureka, California’s lumber center, where you will see the grand Carson Mansion, the most photographed example of Victorian architecture in the world and once the home of a West Coast lumber baron.     Day 8: Eureka–Sonoma

    . (Wed.) This morning, travel along the spectacular Avenue of the Giants, a quiet two-lane road that winds through some of the world’s most spectacular scenery with ancient redwood trees. You will have the chance to see an 1,800-year-old redwood here! (B)

    Day 9: Sonoma–San Francisco

    . (Thu.) Travel this morning to Sonoma to see the town square’s early 19th-century Solano Mission and tour the historical SEBASTIANI VINEYARDS. Next, visit VIANSA, one of Sonoma’s most famous wineries. Enjoy a tour of the Italian heritage winery, followed by an unforgettable hilltop luncheon featuring a gourmet picnic feast and wine tasting under olive trees and grape trellises. Leave the lush, gentle slopes of California’s wine country and continue to San Francisco. Cross the bay via the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge and enjoy an orientation tour. Upon arrival, enjoy a visit to KELOWNA LAND & ORCHARD, one of the largest family-owned orchards in Canada. Receive farm-fresh apple juice and then hop on the farm wagon for a behind-the-scenes, interactive look at the working farm. You might even have an opportunity for a hands-on experience of an orchard technique. Continue to the Grand Okanagan, the area’s premier lakefront resort. (B)

    Day 3: Kelowna–Glacier National Park–Yoho National Park–Banff

    . (Tue.) This morning, travel through the agricultural region of the Okanagan Valley to Canada’s Glacier National Park. On Rogers Pass, enjoy panoramic vistas of peaks exceeding 10,000 feet, then continue on to Yoho National Park. View Natural Bridge before scaling Kicking Horse Pass. Then, enter the province of Alberta and BANFF NATIONAL PARK, the scenic heart of the Canadian Rockies. (B,D)

    Day 4: Banff National Park

    . (Wed.) Sightseeing today includes a ride on the BANFF gondola up Sulphur Mountain and stops at the Hoodoos along the Bow River and at Bow Falls. The balance of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy the tranquil setting of this mountain resort. Maybe take an optional helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies and, in the evening, join our optional excursion to the Oh Canada Eh? dinner show. (B)

    Day 5: Banff–Lake Louise–Columbia Icefield–Jasper

    . (Thu.) Follow Icefields Parkway and head for JASPER NATIONAL PARK. First stop is Lake Louise, whose green-blue waters form a perfect mirror reflection of Mount Victoria. Scale Bow Pass with views of Peyto Lake, then climb Sunwapta Pass. Next, stop at the 1,000-foot-thick Columbia Icefield for an ICE EXPLORER ride before reaching the resort village of Jasper. Time this afternoon allows for an optional float trip down the historic Athabasca River, where your experienced guide will navigate as you absorb the splendor of Jasper National Park. (B,D)

    Day 6: Jasper National Park. Excursion to Maligne Lake

    . (Fri.) A short sightseeing tour to see Jasper’s unspoiled beauty. Afterward, travel to glacial Maligne Lake for a narrated CRUISE to Spirit Island. On the return journey, stop to view Maligne Canyon. Balance of the day is at leisure to explore Jasper on your own. (B)

    Day 7: Jasper–Mount Robson–Sun Peaks

    . (Sat.) Head back into British Columbia via the base of 12,972-foot Mount Robson (the highest point in the Canadian Rockies). Then, descend the Yellowhead Highway hugging the mighty North Thompson River, a route pioneered by fur trappers more than a century ago. Afternoon arrival in Sun Peaks with the balance of the day at leisure. You may take advantage of an optional canoe trip on Lake McGilvary where, surrounded by beautiful scenery, you learn about Canada’s fur trade. (B) Note: The operation of the canoe trip is subject to favorable weather conditions.

    Day 8: Sun Peaks–Whistler

    . (Sun.) Journey south today through the heart of the magnificent Cariboo region. Spectacular scenery abounds as you pass by rolling hills, deeply incised rivers, and sparkling lakes.     Day 1: Sun. SAN DIEGO.

    Welcome to San Diego, California’s second-largest city. Time at leisure to relax or to do some independent exploring. Your Tour Director is on hand this evening to answer any questions.

    Day 2: Mon. SAN DIEGO.

    Enjoy blue skies on 70 miles of beaches with a Mediterranean climate. This morning features a sightseeing tour including downtown, the Gaslamp Quarter, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, and Old Town San Diego. This afternoon, experience San Diego at your leisure. Take in the Maritime Museum or the celebrated San Diego Zoo.

    Day 3: Tue. SAN DIEGO–LOS ANGELES.

    Today, continue on your coastal journey to Los Angeles, the “City of Angels” and home to Universal Studios® as well as your favorite musical and film celebrities. Tour Los Angeles and visit Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, where nearly 200 movie stars have left their hand and footprints, and see the popular Hollywood Walk of Fame.

    Day 4: Wed. LOS ANGELES.

    The day is free for your own exploration. Visit Hollywood and the Hollywood History Museum, located in the old Max Factor Building. Stroll Olvera Street, the heart of the original Spanish Mission, or visit the Getty Center with its wonderful art collection. Take a tour around Universal Studios or spend the day at magical Disneyland®. This evening your Tour Director will have plenty of suggestions for dining and shopping.

    Day 5: Thu. LOS ANGELES–SANTA BARBARA–SOLVANG–SAN LUIS OBISPO.

    This morning, leave the motion picture capital of the world behind as you follow the shoreline from Santa Monica to Santa Barbara. The Spanish influence is apparent in Santa Barbara with quaint whitewashed and tile-roofed buildings. Visit the impressive 200-year-old MISSION with its world-famous twin bell towers. Afterward, enjoy a stroll along the wharf and lunch on your own. Up next: Solvang, where Denmark has been recreated with picturesque buildings and windmills. Free time to browse through the charming shops featuring Danish imports and rich pastries.

    Day 6: Fri. SAN LUIS OBISPO–SAN SIMEON–MONTEREY–SAN FRANCISCO.

    This morning, journey north to San Simeon and visit HEARST CASTLE, the opulent mansion of wealthy newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst. See the splendid antiques, art treasures, and exotic possessions. The tour shows off the highlights of the impressive 123-acre estate. On to Monterey and Cannery Row, immortalized by John Steinbeck.     This morning, included sightseeing takes in the spectacular Golden Gate Bridge, bustling Fisherman’s Wharf, and Nob Hill. In the evening, how about dinner at popular Fisherman’s Wharf? You’ll end the night with an illumination tour of San Francisco.

    Day 8: Sun. SAN FRANCISCO.

    This morning, visit the famous and fascinating ALCATRAZ PRISON. Get a close-up look at the infamous federal penitentiary that was off limits to the public for years. Afterward, the day is yours to delve deeper into this fascinating city. Your Tour Director will suggest more sightseeing attractions as well as favorite places to shop and dine.Note: The Alcatraz Prison visit is a value of $26.00

    Day 9: Mon. SAN FRANCISCO–WINE COUNTRY–EUREKA.

    Leave San Francisco and cross over the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge. Head north into the wine-growing valley of Sonoma. Enjoy a guided tour and WINE TASTING at one of the well-known wineries. Afterward, travel the AVENUE OF THE GIANTS. This world-famous scenic drive is a 31-mile portion of Highway 101 with 51,222 acres of redwood groves. Arrival in Eureka, California’s premier lumber center, situated on scenic Humboldt Bay. On the way to your hotel, see the grand Carson Mansion, once the home of a local lumber baron.

    Day 10: Tue. EUREKA–REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK–BANDON-BY-THE-SEA–COOS BAY.

    Travel the coastal highway through REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK with its majestic sequoias, then drive to the seacoast town of Bandon-by-the-Sea. A sightseeing tour will show you its beauty and charm, and includes a photo stop at the Bandon Lighthouse. Overnight in the town of Coos Bay.

    Day 11: Wed. COOS BAY–FLORENCE–NEWPORT.

    Today is all about scenic beauty at a leisurely pace. First is the quaint town of Florence, one of Oregon’s most beautiful and charming cities along the coast. Time on your own to explore historic Old Town with its shops, boutiques, and coffee houses. From Florence, continue north through the SIUSLAW NATIONAL FOREST past popular beach resorts to one of Oregon’s favorite vacation spots—Newport on pretty Yaquina Bay. Late this afternoon, visit the OREGON COAST AQUARIUM.

    Day 12: Thu. NEWPORT–TILLAMOOK–PORTLAND.

    For a taste of the dramatic Oregon coastline we follow the Three Capes Scenic Route to Tillamook. Watch for the signs that tell you the brief story of the ghost community, now gone, that existed there 35 to 55 years ago. Enjoy a break in Tillamook, best known for its famous cheese and tasty saltwater taffy, before heading to Portland, Oregon’s largest city. A sightseeing tour shows why Portland is better known as the “City of Roses” with its numerous parks and beautiful flower gardens. Visit the largest rose garden in the U.S.—WASHINGTON PARK INTERNATIONAL ROSE TEST GARDEN. Time on your own to explore.

    Day 13: Fri. PORTLAND–SEATTLE.

    Today, cross the majestic Columbia River and head north into Washington State to the VOLCANO VISITORS CENTER to learn of the dramatic eruption of Mount St. Helens. Then, weather permitting, see ice-clad dormant volcano Mount Rainier before reaching Seattle. This afternoon’s sightseeing includes the Seattle Center, site of the 1962 World Fair and the 605-foot-high Space Needle, and a stop at the colorful Pike Place Market. Tonight, join your fellow traveling companions for an optional waterfront meal and panoramic views from the observation deck of the Space Needle.

    Day 14: Sat. SEATTLE.

    The day is free for you to explore the “Emerald City.” Perhaps take a sightseeing tour that soaks up the Asian flavor of the International District. Explore downtown, take a ferry across Puget Sound, or just relax and experience the spectacular views of Elliott Bay and enjoy fresh seafood.

    Day 15: Sun. SEATTLE.

    The trip ends this morning with guests departing on individual schedules. Transfers are provided to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

    Days 1-2: Seattle & Whistler

    Day 9: Vancouver

    Day 10: Seattle

    Day 1

    Arrive in San Francisco - Welcome to San Francisco! After being whisked from the airport to the hotel at Fisherman’s Wharf, meet your Tour Director this afternoon. Time permitting, explore Pier 39. An easy stroll away, you’ll get a real San Francisco treat as you drink in the atmosphere of this lively marketplace and watch the street performers. Also competing for your attention is the pier’s resident sea lion population, known as the “Sea Lebrities.” Then, at 6:00 p.m., get together with your fellow adventurers at a festive Kick-off Party.

    Days 2-3

    San Francisco / Richardson Grove State Park / Garberville - What better way to get a taste of San Francisco than by crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. If you and the family are up for a walk, grab your cameras and join your Tour Director for a stroll across this impressive feat of engineering. Then, travel through the rolling hills of California’s Wine Country and stop at Richardson Grove State Park for your first encounter with the giants of the forest, the mighty redwoods. Follow trails that meander among these towering redwoods and take the opportunity to walk through a tree! (FB,D)

    DAY 3 GARBERVILLE / REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK / GOLD BEACH - Travel along the “Avenue of the Giants,” one of America’s most spectacular roads and best displays of giant California redwoods. Step back in time in Eureka, a quaint 19th-century Victorian town built during the height of the region’s logging boom. Here, your Tour Director will reveal a hidden treasure. Next, drive through Northern California Redwood National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with trees more than 1,000 years old and over 300 feet tall. Anticipation mounts as you cross into Oregon and step aboard a high-speed jet boat for a thrilling ride on the Rogue River. This Congress-designated “National Wild and Scenic River” tumbles and roars from high in the Cascade Range to the shores of the Pacific, and is home to many species of native wildlife. Keep an eye out for black bear, black-tail deer, river otter, bald eagles, great blue heron and Canada geese, all commonly seen along the river! (FB)

    DAY 5 NEWPORT SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE - Kick off your shoes, roll up your pants and wade in the Yaquina Heads tide pools and search for hermit crabs, sea urchins, anemones, sea stars, and even the occasional octopus! Your next look at sea life is even cooler, because you’re headed to the Oregon Coast Aquarium named one of America’s “Most Awesome Aquariums” by Forbes magazine. Come face-to-face with sharks and bat rays in “Passages of the Deep” an acrylic walk-through tunnel surrounded by water. With your leisure time this afternoon, maybe explore Newport’s historic waterfront or join an optional Sea Life Cruise; keep an eye out for sea life and marine birds as the onboard naturalist tells you all about your surroundings.     Day 6

    DAY 6 NEWPORT / TILLAMOOK / PORTLAND - Travel to Tillamook, a city synonymous with the dairy industry. Tour the Tillamook Creamery and learn about dairy cows. Then you’ll be treated to a fresh waffle cone filled with your choice of 35 delicious flavors of Tillamook Ice Cream. Next, journey to Portland, where you’ll enjoy a city orientation, complete with a stop at the International Rose Test Garden. (FB)

    Days 7-10

    Gold Beach / Oregon Dunes / Newport - Gear up for the trip to Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, a natural wonder of endless shifting sands, unique tree islands and lots of interesting creatures. Hop in a dune buggy for an exhilarating ride up and down the expansive tracts of sand. Then stop at Heceta Head, a beautiful 19th-century lighthouse, before continuing north to the bayside town of Newport. This evening join the gang on the beach for a good old fashioned clam bake. Then gather ‘round a beach bonfire for gooey s’mores and entertaining campfire tales. (FB,HD)

    DAY 8 OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK / SEATTLE - Before leaving Olympic National Park this morning, make a stop at dazzling Lake Crescent. Sensational views of the Seattle skyline unfold before you as you make your way by ferry across Puget Sound into the Emerald City. Once ashore in this hip and vibrant town, stop at the historic Pike Place Market, the nation’s oldest farmers market, where the fish fly low from one fishmonger’s hands to the next! No visit to Seattle would be complete without making the trip to the top of the Space Needle, the iconic landmark of the great Pacific Northwest. This evening, kick up your heels at a fun-filled Farewell Dinner party here’s to your exciting northwest adventures and newfound friends! (FB,FD)

Enter the beautiful Hoh Rainforest, the world’s largest temperate rainforest, and trek to the eerie “Hall of Mosses.” Later, enjoy your hotel’s perfect location on the rugged coast.     Days 1-3: Seattle, Vancouver & British Columbia

    Heading out from Seattle, Vancouver takes its turn to greet you on our first day. With its stunning combination of mountains and coastline, the city boasts outstanding views. Around its parks, bars and trendy nightspots, group bonds really flourish. It's on to British Columbia for 2 days as Fraser River Canyon leads us north again. Adrenaline junkies will be pleased to hear that Thompson River and whitewater rafting go hand in hand.

    Days 4-5: Prince George & Hyder

    Ancient Native lands parade major league natural wonders, around Prince George, likewise glacier-encased Stewart Canyon are rippling with pine. Hyder, 'The Friendliest Ghost Town in Alaska' is the state's southernmost city, with pots of clapboard character wrapped within green meadows and snowy white slopes.

    Days 6-8: British Columbia & Whitehorse

    Expect a bump or two along the dirt and gravel Cassiar Highway. This logging road passes through lush green mountain scenery to the lakeside campground at Dease River. Soon you will be gliding across the smooth waters of Cotton Lake on an unforgettable included wilderness canoe trip. North to the frontier town of Whitehorse where the Yukon River gold rush lingers in the memory as music halls and taverns whisk you and your posse back a century or so.

    Days 9-10: Dawson City

    Imagine finding the yellowish nugget that spells fortune as you pan for gold at Bonanza Mine. No luck? Then stack up the chips at Diamond Gertie's or seek consolation watching a crimson sunset from Midnight Dome.

    Days 11-12: Chicken & Tangle Lakes

    True Alaskan hospitality awaits in the coolest named town in America. From gold panning to the Chicken Creek Saloon, you'll love Chicken! Then span the Top of the World highway as we visit Tangle Lakes. You'll soon be toasting marshmallows at the lakeside, anticipating your date with the "Great One" tomorrow.

    Days 13-15: Denali National Park

    You'll be glad summer puts in so many overtime hours of daylight this far north. It's time to get stuck into the vast expanse of Denali National Park. Travel the lone road in this awe-inspiring national park for two full days to endless views and hiking opportunities. Snap a few shots of moose, caribou, fox and of course grizzily bear on our scenic bus ride and hike in the shadows of Mt. McKinley. Standing at over 20,320 feet, North America's highest mountain dominates every view on a blue sky day.

    Days 16-17: Kenai Peninsula

    South to the pristine beauty of the Kenai Peninsula. Mindblowing vistas and breathtaking scenery appear at every turn. Powder blue icebergs dot Portage Lake; rugged trails lead to Exit Glacier's foot; whales may appear in the sea swell as squawking sea birds dive bomb the surface.

    Day 18: Anchorage

    In Anchorage we sample the sights and nightlife in this state's largest city but the six surrounding mountain ranges soon have you yearning for the big open country again.

    Days 19-21: Alaska Range & Wrangell St Elias

    Jeepers, the mountainous landscapes just gets better and better. Matanuska Glacier and Copper River Valley provide great camera fodder too, though the lofty, snow-covered peaks just trump the lot. As the Wrangell Mountains cast their lengthy shadow, ready yourself for some top-notch glacier action. How about a guided hike on the Kennicott Glacier, or for a more vertical challenge, clipping on the crampons for ice climbing on Root Glacier.

    Days 22-23: Tok & Kluane National Park

    From Tok, the Yukon Territory looms large and gorgeous. Kluane tempts you to stretch those legs within its bewildering beauty.

    Once gold prospectors sought fame and fortune from Skagway, now the natural treasures create the real stir. As your Cruise Ferry edges away, you begin to understand why.

    Days 9-10: Jasper National Park

    The widescreen scenery keeps on coming. The Icefields Parkway provides a peach of a drive through panoramic views of endless valleys, sheer ridges, glaciers and spruce forests - truly one of the world's ultimate drives. Jasper's wildlife puts up a fight for your attention too; the sharp-eyed may glimpse grizzlies, wolves or caribou. This sprawling natural expanse offers bike trails, helicopter flights and ice-walks through the most spectacular scenery that the Canadian Rockies offers.

    Day 1: Fairbanks, Alaska - Tour Begins

    Your tour begins in Fairbanks, in the great state of Alaska.     Day 5: Denali Rail Station - Whittier - Board Cruise Ship

    Transfer to the rail station and ride the Denali Express direct to Whittier for an unforgettable journey.     Day 1: Seattle & British Columbia

    From Seattle, we cross the Canadian Border and enter an up-and-down landscape of grey, snow-dusted mountains and dark conifers. At our first stop, we set up camp beside a pristine glinting lake, excitable chin wagging may last long past sundown by the flickering campfire.

    Days 2-3: Yoho National Park

    View the alpine meadows of Mount Revelstoke National Park en route to Yoho National Park. Hike or negotiate the rapids of well-named Kicking Horse River. In any case, the tumbling cascades, glassy lakes and glinting peaks are drop-dead gorgeous... not to mention the glaciers.

    Days 4-5: Banff National Park

    Boot up, saddle up and breathe in the crisp alpine air where nature's bonanza includes beavers, bears, porcupines and elk. Ride the Banff tramway to Sulphur Mountain's peak and recharge your batteries in the heavenly hot springs.

    Day 6: Lake Louise

    A nickname like the "gem of the Rockies" is a lot to live up to, but it's no sweat for Lake Louise. The imposing chateau looks on as mountains cluster round the turquoise surface.     Days 9-10: Wells Grey Provincial Park

Walk the Capilano Suspension Bridge, 230 head-spinning feet above the river before checking out the city nightlife in Gas Town or the eclectic "Robsonstrasse".
