    Day 1: Boston – The American Revolution and Beyond

    Your journey starts in Boston, Massachusetts, one of America’s oldest cities. Founded in 1630, Boston is a bustling, vibrant city filled with history, tradition and old world elegance. From museums to sports to fresh seafood to ethnic cuisine, you will feel a real sense of European influence still prevalent today. The American Revolution plays out as you follow along the Freedom Trail, from the Public Garden to the Old North Church to Paul Revere’s House. Explore Faneuil Hall, a festival market complex of shops, food stands and restaurants.

    Day 2: Plymouth Rock – The Pilgrim’s Pride

    Our first stop takes you to Plymouth Rock, where the Pilgrims landed in 1620. Here you’ll get a look at the Mayflower II, an authentic reproduction of the original ship. Then it’s on to Hyannis, summer home of the Kennedy family and the JFK Memorial.

    Day 3: Martha’s Vineyard – Playground of the Rich and Famous

    The Vineyard has long been known as one of Massachusetts’ most prominent havens for celebrities, including former President Bill Clinton and his family. Who knows who you might run into? As your morning ferry ride takes you to the resort island of Martha’s Vineyard, you will be delighted with the charm of Edgartown, with its gingerbread cottages and narrow streets. Martha’s Vineyard also sets the scene for all the action in the Jaws movies, using lots of local extras.

    Day 4: Newport – America’s Mansions

    Picturesque Newport, Rhode Island, boasts famed mansions and sailboats dotting the rocky, rugged landscape. We tour one of these legendary estates, Vanderbilt’s Breakers Mansion, and get a glimpse of how America’s most elite families lived at the turn of the century.

    Day 5: Vermont – Backroads to Beauty

    Although Vermont means “green mountains” in French, the state is known for its spectacular autumn color show, white clapboard villages and tree-covered mountains. Backroads touring in Vermont takes us to such beautiful mountain villages such as Newfane and Grafton. Weston is home to the Vermont Country Store, “Purveyors of the Practical and Hard-To-Find,” and Woodstock has been called the “prettiest small town in America.” While Vermont’s maple syrup season takes place in the spring, there are still plenty of maple syrup products to enjoy like maple syrup, maple candy and maple butter to bring back home. Visit one of Vermont’s state parks, Quechee Gorge, an impressive river chasm, often considered Vermont’s “Little Grand Canyon.”

    Day 6: New Hampshire – Conway Scenic Railroad

    Fascinating historic sites defining the early American spirit run rich in the Granite State. Almost everywhere, you will see evidence of Native American as well as colonial history. Experience an incredibly awesome display of New Hampshire’s autumn foliage along the Kancamagus Highway. This scenic road winds through the spectacular White Mountains to North Conway, for a rail journey aboard the Conway Scenic Railroad. Re-live this railroad’s 130-year history while soaking in the beauty of meadowlands and forests and chugging over rivers.

    Day 7: Colorful Maine – Designated National Scenic Byways

    After breakfast, we set sail for a journey across Lake Winnipesaukee for what has been called the “most beautiful cruise in New England.” Sail from the home port of Weirs Beach aboard the M/S Mount Washington to Wolfeboro, known as the oldest resort town in New Hampshire.

    Then ride through gorgeous mountain country where you will spot spectacular foliage, crystal clear lakes, covered bridges and wildlife sightings along this coastal drive. Was that a moose? Or an elk? Make sure your cameras are ready! A visit to Kennebunkport, the famous Bush family compound and home to other celebrities, will give you a glimpse of magnificent seaside estates. And keep your cameras on alert as you view Maine’s jagged shoreline, dotted with historic lighthouses and high cliffs. A fresh seafood dinner awaits you on the waterfront in Maine.

    Day 1: ARRIVE BOSTON

    Day 2: BOSTON - WILLIAMSTOWN

    Discover some of Boston's most famous sights as your Tour Director takes you along the Freedom Trail. Then enjoy the colourful scenery as you travel west to Stockbridge for a visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum, the largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell art. Next, travel through the stunning rolling hills of the Berkshires to your hotel in the beautiful college town of Williamstown. Hotel: The Williams Inn (B,D)

    Day 3: WILLIAMSTOWN - STOWE

    Leaving Massachusetts, journey through the fabulous fall foliage of Vermont. After a photo stop at Quechee Gorge, visit the Rockefellers' renowned Billings Farm & Museum, a working dairy farm and farm life museum. Next is the quintessential Vermont village of Woodstock with its picturesque covered bridge. There is time to stroll the quaint streets before heading to Stowe for a two-night stay. It was the breathtaking alpine setting that attracted the Von Trapp family, of The Sound of Music fame, when they arrived from Austria in the late 40's and built their wonderful hideaway.     Day 4: TASTES OF VERMONT EXCURSION

    Enjoy beautiful rural scenery ablaze with fall colours and views of Vermont's tallest peak, Mount Mansfield. Visit Cold Hollow Apple Cider Mill and taste fresh cider in the making, then sample flavors of a different kind on a guided tour of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Return to the charming town of Stowe where the rest of the day is free to wander the quaint streets, hike in the woods, or enjoy the lodge's amenities. (B)

    Day 5: STOWE - NORTH CONWAY

    Visit Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks and taste a Vermont tradition: "sugar on snow" - maple syrup served with a doughnut and pickle! Next, learn all about cheese-making at the Cabot Creamery and nibble on the "World's Best Cheddar." Then head for New Hampshire's White Mountains and enter Franconia Notch. Get your cameras ready as the ride on the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway offers panoramic vistas over New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York, and Canada. Later journey through the dazzling crimson and orange hues of the famed Kancamagus Scenic Byway to North Conway.     Day 6: WHITE MOUNTAINS EXCURSION

    Another morning of brilliant fall foliage colours as you journey through Crawford Notch. Stop for pictures at the beautiful Silver Cascade Waterfall and Bretton Woods, offering stunning views of Mount Washington, the tallest peak in the northeast at 6,288 ft. Back in North Conway, the afternoon is yours. Explore the township, or shop at the tax-free outlet stores near the hotel. (B)

    Day 7: NORTH CONWAY - PORTSMOUTH

    Leaving New Hampshire's glorious fall foliage, enter the deep green pine forests of western Maine. At charming Kennebunkport, enjoy a ride along Ocean Drive with stunning views of the Maine coastline and the homes of Kennebunkport's rich and famous, including the summer retreat of former President George H.W. Bush. There is time to browse the many galleries and shops, or walk along the waterfront before continuing on to the charming and historic port city of Portsmouth.     Day 8: PORTSMOUTH - DEPART BOSTON

    Continue south to the charming seaside village of Rockport on Cape Ann.     Welcome to “Bean Town!” This evening, mix and mingle with your traveling companions at the 6 pm welcome reception. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure. (WR)

    Day 2: Boston–Berkshire Mountains.

    Your morning tour of Boston highlights the historic sites near Boston Common, Old State House, Old North Church, and the Freedom Trail. Depart Boston for DEERFIELD, a National Historic District. The town was an outpost of English Colonial civilization. Enjoy lunch at the historic Deerfield Inn, a classic country inn built in 1884. This afternoon, continue to your overnight hotel nestled in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains in Pittsfield. (B,L)

    Day 3: Berkshire Mountains. Excursion to Stockbridge.

    Travel through valleys of unspoiled New England villages to Stockbridge. Here, visit the NORMAN ROCKWELL STUDIO & MUSEUM, housing a large collection of works by one of America’s favorite artists. Later, visit the HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGE, a restored village consisting of 20 buildings including its famed 1826 Round Stone Barn. Learn about the Shaker’s way of everyday life through interactive demonstrations and by visiting the various historic dwellings. Return to Pittsfield this afternoon for time at leisure. (B)

    Day 4: Berkshire Mountains–Stowe.

    Head north to Stowe. Visit nearby SHELBURNE HERITAGE PARK, a fascinating 45-acre outdoor museum depicting early New England life. Afterward, a wonderful treat in store: a guided tour of BEN & JERRY’S Ice Cream Factory in the heart of the Green Mountains. Overnight in Stowe, a favorite mountain resort. (B,D)

    Day 5: Stowe–North Conway.

    This morning, visit a MAPLE SYRUP FARM to learn how maple syrup is produced and tastes. Next, a special lunch at the TRAPP FAMILY LODGE which is still owned and operated by the Trapp Family, made famous by The Sound of Music. After a break in Montpelier, Vermont’s capital, head for New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Enjoy time at leisure this afternoon and maybe do some shopping at New England’s premier outlets. (B,L)

    Day 6: North Conway. Excursion to Wildcat Mountain.

    At Pinkham Notch, board the Wildcat Mountain GONDOLA for a thrilling ride to the 4,397-foot summit. Also, enjoy the RAVEN INTERPRETIVE PROGRAM focusing on the unique environs of northern New England and local wildlife. (B)

    Day 7: North Conway–Portland– Kennebunkport.

    Today, travel through the densely wooded, lake-strewn landscape of Maine to Portland, one of New England’s most famous cities. Stroll down the cobblestone streets of Portland’s Old Port Exchange, lined with its many boutiques, coffee houses, and art galleries. Early afternoon arrival in Kennebunkport, with time to explore the quaint shops and galleries of Dock Square. Tonight, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner. Wonderful conversation and cuisine are the perfect finale for your vacation. (B,D)

    Day 8: Kennebunkport–Boston.

    A scenic drive along the rocky coastline of Maine to Massachusetts with a call at Salem, infamous for the largest witch hunt in American history. You’ll have time to visit the many historic landmarks. Return to Boston with a stop at the airport for guests with homebound flights. Please schedule flights after 3 pm. The motorcoach then continues downtown to the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, where the vacation ends. (B)

    Day 1: NEW YORK CITY

    . Welcome to “The Big Apple!” Enjoy time at leisure to relax or to do some independent exploring. Your Tour Director is on hand this evening to answer any questions.

    Day 2: NEW YORK CITY–NEWPORT–PLYMOUTH

    . Depart Manhattan this morning and follow the Connecticut shore via New Haven of Yale University fame. Enter the tiny state of Rhode Island and sightsee in Newport, the “Great Gatsby” resort of spendthrift tycoons. Visit THE BREAKERS, Cornelius Vanderbilt’s magnificent 70-room Italian palazzo. Then, head north into Massachusetts and spend the next three nights in the historic seaside port of Plymouth, where the Pilgrim Fathers landed in the Mayflower in 1620.

    Day 3: PLYMOUTH

    . Begin the day with a visit to PLIMOTH PLANTATION, a living history museum of 17th-century Plymouth, where costumed interpreters portray residents of the colony. This afternoon, board a cruise boat and head out to sea for a true highlight of your trip—an exciting WHALE-WATCHING expedition with commentary by a local marine biologist. Keep your eyes peeled because these Atlantic waters are a prime feeding ground for finback and humpback whales, as well as dolphins. The evening is yours to relax or explore more of Plymouth.

    Day 4: PLYMOUTH. INCLUDED VISIT TO HYANNIS, CAPE COD

    . This morning, visit the MAYFLOWER II and explore a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World. Next, visit Plymouth Rock, the spot where the Pilgrims landed before crossing Buzzards Bay to Cape Cod, known for its temperate climate and scenic beauty. Our onward journey takes us to the seascapes of Hyannis, the “Homeport of Cape Cod. Board an old-time Maine coastal steamer replica to enjoy your HYANNIS HARBOR CRUISE featuring views of the Kennedy Compound, pristine shoreline and sparkling emerald waters. Return to Plymouth and join an optional fun-filled evening in America’s original settlement with a walking tour of the historic district and the waterfront while hearing intriguing tales of this town’s history. End the excursion with a tour of the Jenney Grist Mill.

    Day 5: PLYMOUTH–BOSTON–OGUNQUIT

    . The “Cradle of American Liberty” has numerous impressive landmarks that reflect the role the city has played in the history of the United States. Our included sightseeing tour with a Local Guide will take you to many of the major sights, including Beacon Hill, the Old North Church (where Paul Revere was signalled of the departure of British troops to Lexington), Boston Common, and the Public Gardens. Enjoy free time to explore the city at your own pace. Maybe visit one of the city’s excellent museums, like the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science, or the New England Aquarium. Next, travel to the oceanfront village of Ogunquit, a haven for writers and artists, for an overnight stay. In the evening, sample the delicious local fare on our optional lobster bake excursion, including steamed clams, Maine lobster, and delicious corn-on-the-cob.

    Day 6: OGUNQUIT–LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE–SHELBURNE

    . Marvel at New England’s autumn splendor as we head northwest to Lake Winnipesaukee, one of the region’s largest and most beautiful stretches of water. Cruise across this island-studded lake aboard the historic MS MOUNT WASHINGTON from Wolfeboro to the lake resort of Weirs Beach. Your overnight is in Shelburne, where you have a free evening.

    Day 7: SHELBURNE–MONTPELIER–BURLINGTON

    . This morning, it’s off to North Conway and Wildcat Mountain. You might choose to board a chairlift for an optional ride to the summit, with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and as far north as Québec. Travel through colorful autumnal forests and continue across New Hampshire. Next stop: Vermont, where birch, oak, and maple leaves form a kaleidoscope of yellows, oranges, and reds. After a stop in Montpelier, Vermont’s capital city, we visit a nearby MAPLE SYRUP FARM. Next, we visit COLD HOLLOW CIDER MILL, one of New England’s top producers of fresh apple cider. See how cider is made and take time to wander through the store and sample many of the other goodies produced there. On to Burlington, located on the shores of Lake Champlain.

    Day 8: BURLINGTON–LAKE CHAMPLAIN–LAKE PLACID

    . Drive to the shores of Lake Champlain and board the ferry at Burlington for the SCENIC CROSSING into the state of New York. Travel through the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains to the village of Lake Placid, site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. Tonight, join the optional farewell dinner outing.

    Day 9: LAKE PLACID–SARATOGA–ALBANY

    . This morning continue your exploration of the village to shop for souvenirs on Main Street, enjoy a leisurely stroll along Mirror Lake, or visit the Olympic Skating Center, where you can watch future Olympic athletes train. A late lunch stop in Saratoga, the historic city in upstate New York. An orientation tour shows off the beautiful Victorian estates and downtown with its tree-lined streets, one-of-a-kind boutiques, and gorgeous floral plantings. Overnight in the historic capital of Albany.

    Day 10: ALBANY–NEW YORK CITY

    . The final leg of your journey takes you south into New York City. A stop at Newark International Airport for those with homebound flights (please schedule flights after 4:00 pm). The trip ends at the Holiday Inn Manhattan in the afternoon.

    Day 2: BOSTON

    . Boston’s numerous landmarks reflect the important part the city played in the history of the United States. Many of these sites are included on your guided morning tour: Faneuil Hall, Old North Church (where Paul Revere was signaled of the departure of British troops to Lexington), and Boston Common. The afternoon has been set aside for independent activities. Your Tour Director will have plenty of suggestions for things to do and see.

    Day 3: BOSTON–KENNEBUNKPORT–PORTLAND

    . North this morning into Maine, with a stop in Kennebunkport, the summer retreat of many artists and writers who have found the picturesque setting conducive to creativity. Next is the historic maritime city of Portland. Stroll the cobblestone streets of Portland’s famous Old Port Exchange, lined with many boutiques, coffee houses, and art galleries. An included sightseeing tour upon arrival shows off this beautiful coastal region, including spectacular Ocean Point Drive, three lighthouses, and local lobster fishermen.

    Day 4: PORTLAND. BOOTHBAY EXCURSION

Drive up the coast to Boothbay and enjoy a full day to explore this delightful coastal village filled with shops, eateries, and picture-perfect harbors dotted with lobster boats, pleasure craft, and beautiful views of Maine’s rocky coastline. Hugging the Connecticut River, head south to Hanover, where you will see the Dartmouth College campus, one of the nation’s eight prestigious Ivy League institutions. Cross the river into Vermont and look forward to two more sightseeing stops on the way to Burlington. First, visit WOODSTOCK, a village noted for its well-preserved homes and charming village green. End the day with a visit to nearby BILLINGS FARM & MUSEUM, a living museum of Vermont’s rural past as well as a working dairy farm.     . Today is free for independent activities. Take a ferry ride to Nantucket Island, one of the most unique, historic, and visually stunning places in the world. Originally a booming whaling port, Nantucket has been named a National Historic District and has architecturally changed little since the 17th century. Seaside cottages and old-fashioned lamps still line its streets. Sign on for a guided tour of the island or pick up a picnic lunch and rent a bike, a good way to discover Nantucket on your own. Walk the cobblestone streets and take in the boutique shops or explore the art galleries and museums.

    . This morning begins with a harbor cruise, which gives you the chance to see the famous Kennedy Compound. Afterward, leave Hyannis for Plymouth—where it all began.     . Welcome to “Bean Town!” Enjoy time at leisure to relax or to do some independent exploring. Your Tour Director is on hand this evening to answer any questions.

    Day 2: BOSTON

    . Boston’s numerous landmarks reflect the important part the city played in the history of the United States. Many of these sites are included on your guided morning tour: Faneuil Hall, Old North Church (where Paul Revere was signaled of the departure of British troops to Lexington), and Boston Common. The afternoon has been set aside for independent activities. Your Tour Director will have plenty of suggestions for things to do and see.

    Day 3: BOSTON–KENNEBUNKPORT–PORTLAND

    . North this morning into Maine, with a stop in Kennebunkport, the summer retreat of many artists and writers who have found the picturesque setting conducive to creativity. Next is the historic maritime city of Portland. Stroll the cobblestone streets of Portland’s famous Old Port Exchange, lined with many boutiques, coffee houses, and art galleries. An included sightseeing tour upon arrival shows off this beautiful coastal region, including spectacular Ocean Point Drive, three lighthouses, and local lobster fishermen.

    Day 4: PORTLAND. BOOTHBAY EXCURSION

    Days 1-3: Boston & Acadia National Park

    Leaving behind the city lights of Boston, we make our way through New England's largest state, Maine. Famous for fresh, sweet lobster and the great deals at Freeport's shopping outlet stores, we'll sample both before settling into camp near Bar Harbour. The next days will include some exciting outdoor rock climbing as well as exploring Acadia National Park. Incidentally, the stunning Cadillac Mountain peak is the easternmost point in the USA and the first to receive the sunrise.

    Days 4-5: New Hampshire

    From Maine's country roads and small villages, we continue into New Hampshire and the backbone of the northern Appalachians, the White Mountain National Forests. These rugged peaks include the Franconia Notch and the challenging; seemingly vertical hikes are rewarded with incredible views!

    Days 6-7: Vermont

    Vermont's Green Mountains are even more beautiful in the Summer and Autumn. With rolling mountains and lush forests, the hiking and mountain biking trails are limitless...And with an included full-suspension mountain bike and gondola lift ticket at Killington Mountain, you will really enjoy the micro-brewery after a full day on the trails!

    Days 8-9: Lake Placid

    The journey continues from New England into upstate New York. Camping along one of the beautiful lakes, there will be time to visit the historic 1980's Olympic village before beginning the tour's highlight- an included overnight canoe trip. You will cross lakes and portages during the day before arriving at a secluded natural campsite , perfect for a campfire and fresh air before returning to Boston.

    Day 1: NEW YORK CITY

    . Welcome to “The Big Apple!” Enjoy time at leisure to relax or to do some independent exploring. Your Tour Director is on hand this evening to answer any questions.

    Day 2: NEW YORK CITY–NEWPORT–PLYMOUTH

    . Depart Manhattan this morning and follow the Connecticut shore via New Haven of Yale University fame. Enter the tiny state of Rhode Island and sightsee in Newport, the “Great Gatsby” resort of spendthrift tycoons. Visit THE BREAKERS, Cornelius Vanderbilt’s magnificent 70-room Italian palazzo. Then, head north into Massachusetts and spend the next three nights in the historic seaside port of Plymouth, where the Pilgrim Fathers landed in the Mayflower in 1620.

    Day 3: PLYMOUTH

    . Begin the day with a visit to PLIMOTH PLANTATION, a living history museum of 17th-century Plymouth, where costumed interpreters portray residents of the colony. This afternoon, board a cruise boat and head out to sea for a true highlight of your trip—an exciting WHALE-WATCHING expedition with commentary by a local marine biologist. Keep your eyes peeled because these Atlantic waters are a prime feeding ground for finback and humpback whales, as well as dolphins. The evening is yours to relax or explore more of Plymouth.

    Day 4: PLYMOUTH. INCLUDED VISIT TO HYANNIS, CAPE COD

    . This morning, visit the MAYFLOWER II and explore a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World. Next, visit Plymouth Rock, the spot where the Pilgrims landed before crossing Buzzards Bay to Cape Cod, known for its temperate climate and scenic beauty. Our onward journey takes us to the seascapes of Hyannis, the “Homeport of Cape Cod. Board an old-time Maine coastal steamer replica to enjoy your HYANNIS HARBOR CRUISE featuring views of the Kennedy Compound, pristine shoreline and sparkling emerald waters. Return to Plymouth and join an optional fun-filled evening in America’s original settlement with a walking tour of the historic district and the waterfront while hearing intriguing tales of this town’s history. End the excursion with a tour of the Jenney Grist Mill.

    Day 5: PLYMOUTH–BOSTON–OGUNQUIT

    . The “Cradle of American Liberty” has numerous impressive landmarks that reflect the role the city has played in the history of the United States. Our included sightseeing tour with a Local Guide will take you to many of the major sights, including Beacon Hill, the Old North Church (where Paul Revere was signalled of the departure of British troops to Lexington), Boston Common, and the Public Gardens. Enjoy free time to explore the city at your own pace. Maybe visit one of the city’s excellent museums, like the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science, or the New England Aquarium. Next, travel to the oceanfront village of Ogunquit, a haven for writers and artists, for an overnight stay. In the evening, sample the delicious local fare on our optional lobster bake excursion, including steamed clams, Maine lobster, and delicious corn-on-the-cob.

    Day 6: OGUNQUIT–LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE–SHELBURNE

    . Marvel at New England’s autumn splendor as we head northwest to Lake Winnipesaukee, one of the region’s largest and most beautiful stretches of water. Cruise across this island-studded lake aboard the historic MS MOUNT WASHINGTON from Wolfeboro to the lake resort of Weirs Beach. Your overnight is in Shelburne, where you have a free evening.

    Day 7: SHELBURNE–MONTPELIER–BURLINGTON

    . This morning, it’s off to North Conway and Wildcat Mountain. You might choose to board a chairlift for an optional ride to the summit, with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and as far north as Québec. Travel through colorful autumnal forests and continue across New Hampshire. Next stop: Vermont, where birch, oak, and maple leaves form a kaleidoscope of yellows, oranges, and reds. After a stop in Montpelier, Vermont’s capital city, we visit a nearby MAPLE SYRUP FARM. Next, we visit COLD HOLLOW CIDER MILL, one of New England’s top producers of fresh apple cider. See how cider is made and take time to wander through the store and sample many of the other goodies produced there. On to Burlington, located on the shores of Lake Champlain.

    Day 8: BURLINGTON–LAKE CHAMPLAIN–LAKE PLACID

    . Drive to the shores of Lake Champlain and board the ferry at Burlington for the SCENIC CROSSING into the state of New York. Travel through the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains to the village of Lake Placid, site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. Tonight, join the optional farewell dinner outing.

    Day 9: LAKE PLACID–SARATOGA–ALBANY

    . This morning continue your exploration of the village to shop for souvenirs on Main Street, enjoy a leisurely stroll along Mirror Lake, or visit the Olympic Skating Center, where you can watch future Olympic athletes train. A late lunch stop in Saratoga, the historic city in upstate New York. An orientation tour shows off the beautiful Victorian estates and downtown with its tree-lined streets, one-of-a-kind boutiques, and gorgeous floral plantings. Overnight in the historic capital of Albany.

    Day 10: ALBANY–NEW YORK CITY

    . Check into the Holiday Inn Manhattan for the next two nights.

    Day 11: NEW YORK CITY.

    A local expert takes you on a tour of the most popular sights: Times Square, Greenwich Village, Wall Street, and Chinatown.     Day 1: New York Area & Ithaca

    Situated by Cayuga Lake, largest of the Finger Lakes, this town has a young-at-heart buzz to it, thanks to its plentiful students. Taste the wine and cider samplings of this rebound region or take a short hike to one of the most popular waterfalls in New York.

    Days 2-3: Toronto

    Glimpse the crashing Niagara Falls and make the last few paces into Canada across nearby Rainbow Bridge. No freestanding structure on earth stands taller than the CN Tower, so get up and gawp down over this pretty city by Lake Ontario. Browse trendy stores and cosy cafes on College and Queens Street, and don't be too surprised to see an A-lister: TO (that's Toronto, Ontario) is Canada's answer to Hollywood.

    Days 4-5: Montreal

    With more French speakers than anywhere outside of Paris, expect a little European flair. Museums, galleries, eateries and clubs mix a cocktail of the best bits from both continents.     Day 6: Stowe

    During the winter, this 'Ski Capital of the East' puts on an incredible winter spread, but remains a highlight with hiking, biking and swimming during summer months within the same mountain range. Stowe isn't complete without a stop by the Ben and Jerrry's ice cream factory! You Chunky Monkey!

    Days 7-8: Boston

    Here in 'Beantown' relive the revolution along the Freedom Trail and explore Quincy Market and Fanueil Hall. Later perhaps a bite to eat in an Italian North End trattoria, a seasonal brew in an authentic Irish pub and your best dance moves in a lively, late-night hangout.

    Day 9: New York Area

    We head back towards the 'City that never sleeps'. After the tour, hit the city on your own for one last blast of the Big Apple. Check out Central Park or take one last stroll along 5th Avenue. Now, that's what you call a storybook ending.

    Tour ends at approx 17:00 hrs in the New York Area on day 9.
